So quick thing about the seawater rule: it matters more how much you're submerged in it rather than just being wet. Being wet usually has a very minimal effect.
Ok good to know. Yeah we were confused because Buggy told Luffy something like, "amazing what a couple of splashes of sea water can do right?" So I took it literally as it only needed a couple splashes to work. So your comment definitely helped clear it up, thanks!

It will kill you if you do. - You lose the ability to swim(a big thing for pirates to sacrifice), but only sea(salt) water drains your strength. - You only actually need to eat 1 bite of a DF to get the powers(which is good because they all taste awful), but only 1 person can have the powers so once that first bite is swallowed it becomes just an awful tasting fruit. Also just an FYI. Not everyone who has “powers” has eaten a DF. There are a number of different ways to have powers in this world. Eating a DF is just an easy way to get some.
Well these weren't explained until we reached Enies Lobby so I feel like these are spoilers. People use to theorise that for years until Enies Lobby. But I know it would be impossible to stop people from spoiling that.

In the first episode, you see them disembarking it together with other treasures, which means it was a recent acquisition from their latest excursion. But yes, he didn't eat it and he put it together with the rest of the valuables.
One thing you guys should know, most names in One Piece have the surname first and then your first name. "Luffy" is his first , or proper name. While "Monkey D." is his last and middle initial. 👍🏻
There is always a reason for something in OP. Shanks did not take the devil fruit for himself for a good reason and was supposed to give it to someone else but you will need to read 980 chapters to find out 😊
The difference from the original series: the one that appears in the 4:51 (white fur guy) its Mohji the pet tamer, he have a giant green lion named Richie but they apparently included just him for the fanservice. There was also a story with a dog (he appeared just for one instant before that the camera was showing the mayor at 20:25 ) the name of the dog its Chouchou.
There are more powers than the Devil Fruit out there. It's a big world. How *did* Shanks get out there? That's a fascinating question and is a hint (as is his driving off the Sea King) to how strong Shanks actually is. Really Glad you're enjoying this.

The largest land mass is the Red Line, which Nami explained about. Other than that, all you can find are islands of various sizes. The Grand Line, on the other hand, is a sea route -- the longest and most dangerous one in the world. It's notoriously difficult to enter and to leave (the reasons for that will be explained later). I think that's why Shanks told Luffy that he wasn't coming back to Windmill Village. As for Devil Fruits, one character in the comic explains it by saying that the sea hates those with Devil Fruit powers. In more practical terms, when they're submerged in sea water, it robs them of both their abilities and most of their mobility, which is why they can't swim. That weakness is common to all Devil Fruit users, but each power tends to have other, logical weaknesses as well. And no, that's not a dog on Garp's head -- it's a hat shaped like a dog. 😁 Looking forward to the next one. Madison, take care!
Buggy might be creepy but he’s not an evil villain , there’s a reason on why he hate’s Shank’s and it’s very understandeable , but im not going to spoiel it.
I think what really made this an amazing adaption is that Eiichiro Oda (Creator) was there working with them and telling them yes and no. He personally approved the actors who played all the main characters. The writers say that season 2 is written and we should hopefully see it 12-18 months after the strike ends, so fingers crossed. What they meant was that eating a devil fruit means seawater weakens you, so you can’t swim. In the manga, Shanks refused to take Luffy on his crew because he couldn’t swim yet (before he ate the DF). Having a crew that could swim was very important to him. Plus, the DF is worth a lot of money, he can sell it.

This is how Schanks was able to know that he was in possession of the GumGum fruit and what it could do. The legend about the devil fruits says that demons live in the devil fruits and give them their powers. And if you already have devil power and eat another devil fruit, the two demons will fight each other in your body and thus kill the person
True, I should have clarified. It looked like their world consisted of just pockets of islands except for a thin strip of land around the whole globe. But im not sure if the map we saw was just one region of their world.
@@MACReact it’s mostly ocean with islands (of various sizes) dotted throughout. There’s only one actual continent and it goes in one long continuous strip around the world. The Grand Line is an ocean current that cuts the opposite way from the Red Line (land). This divides the world into four quadrants which are the “Blues”. East, West, North or South. We’re in the East Blue right now. The Grand Line has borders of other uncrossable currents so there’s only one entrance and only one direction of travel along the Line.
