I personally wouldn’t take that statement as a compliment. My Mother has beautiful qualities but I’ve intentionally took steps to NOT become my Mom. I want to be me. I want to have new patterns, new ideas, new thoughts & new behaviors!! I don’t want to become my Mom. I wouldn’t even want my “future” kids to want to be me. I would want them to be THEM!!

My mom mostly spoke Spanish to me as a baby and growing up but I always responded in English (bc she understood English) but when I talk to children or especially my cat (who is my baby) I find I am only speaking baby talk and regañando los en espanol.
Not only do I have my mother’s EXACT face I laugh EXACTLY like her, we have the exact same humor, we make the exact same facial expressions and we have the exact same taste in everything. It doesn’t matter if I wanted to become my mom or not, I already am her😭😭😭🤷🏽♀️
