- Shannen Doherty has passed away at 53 after years of battling cancer. The “Beverly Hills, 90210” star’s publicist confirmed the news in a statement to Access Hollywood on Sunday, July 14 that the actress died on Saturday, July 13. Access Hollywood looks back on Shannen’s life and career.

Sad to hear this. Beverly Hills 90210 - one of my favorite shows in my teen years, carefree years of a time that didnt seem as empty as it does now - losing one of the faces of that era kind of adds to that emptiness for me. RIP Shannen.

I'm not often affected by celebrity deaths but this one gets me. I watched Charmed for comfort nostalgia while in law school and it helped so much with my anxiety and just generally when I felt overwhelmed. I loved that show and loved her in it. Really sad by her passing :(
I'm truly gutted right now. This one hit really hard. I've followed her career since I was a little kid, starting with Little House & was a real admirer of hers. She was such a fighter,so strong and so courageous. We shared a big passion for animals too. My 💔 goes out to her family & friends

Dude, I can't believe that. First Luke Perry and now Shannen. I watched the pilot of Beverly Hills 90210 at the same time my freshman year started in 1990, perfect timing. That show was so fresh when it came out. I wonder if she took the covid shots since her cancer came back in 2020. Man Shannen, I would hope that someone introduced you to soursop and apricot kernals instead of chemo.
Covid shots didn't come out until 2021. Probably didn't help her situation after 2021, but we can't blame it for a 2020 recurrence.

It so sad and heartbreaking that, Shannen died from her cancer that. She fought hard against it, but she sad lost against. Sadly passed away from that. As she was a strong woman as she fought, against her cancer and much as she could.
As she never lets the cancer bring her down, she just kept on fighting until the end.

Her cancer didnt come back after 90210 it came back before. She just didnt tell anyone. Because she wanted to prove when the world found out that she had work the same as anybody else.

Cancer does not differentiate. It makes absolutely no difference who you are…how well off that you are…or who you know.
It is a scary thing…that will challenge you from your core. I feel for her and what she was going through.
Stars and celebrities get more attention about things like this. But people around the world go through this every single day. I hate it for those that are faced with this horrible thing. Having experienced this myself. The fear lurking around in the back of your mind never really goes away. So sad.
