The designers for the interiors have done a great job. Its just sad all those things have no practical use and you can't really populate a large ship. They could even dynamically filll the visual cargo modules, with stuff that is in the ships inventory. Like if you have 20% weapons 20% of the visual storage is full with weapon crates. Wouldn't be too complicated.
