Not if you want to be remotely accurate

Software is currently impossible to detect electricity flows, unfortunately.

I tried hwmonitor. At idle with 1% cpu and gpu usage hw monitor showed a total of around 15-20 watts. Sounds pretty good right? I plugged in the external kill-a-watt power meter and it showed a total of 80watt usage at idle. Meanwhile hwmonitor still showed 15-20w. Bottom line is, if your serious about saving energy then dont be cheap and buy an external power measuring equipment to get accurate readings.

@@dankmemes3153 in my understanding, the motherboard/cpu combi can see the total of the GPU for example, but it has no idea how much the PSU draws from the wall

@@dankmemes3153 Tried HWMonitor as well, it shows CPU/GPU power usage, so your "15-20W" is probably a combined usage of these two, BUT your MB sucks power, your SSDs+HDDs, your fans etc... So 80W are way more realistic.

Are there any ways aside from these method? I do not know how to open my cpu so I cannot see my power supply. I'm planning to purchase a UPS. Thanks in advance!
