Thank you, I knew my monitor and cables were good and I knew I was using the correct port but I could not get any picture. I just moved coast to coast across the country with my PC and feared the worst. After digging around in there following your guide I’ve finally got picture again. Thank you!
Was completely stunned as I had this issue before and all I needed to do was wipe my ram with a cloth. I tried it this time round and nothing happened. After watching this video I tried with a rubber/eraser and it worked. Thanks a million 🙏
I had just gotten a new computer and put in a larger hard drive and more RAM... got it all fixed and was so proud of myself and then this problem came up... ready to SCREAM!!!! Finally realized that the RAM wasnt seated well enough... took them back out and put it back in and heard the snap and BOOM perfection!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!
The best one I had was the monitor was moving through the menu options and would not stop. The customer had put the computer speakers under the monitor switches on the bottom of the screen. Moved the speakers and it worked. Easy Money. The cables are the first and most of the time the issue. Great video.
I thought I effed up my pc before watching this video but you reminded me that I took out my ram. So I checked to see if it was down all the way, it wasn’t so thanks and I’m subbing
I literally did the same thing, tried different HDMI cables, different monitors and I’m like WTF 😂 I watched this video and realized I didn’t have it plugged into my graphics card port but the port further down 🥴

Thanks very much for your assistance. I am 99% sure I tried plugging my display cable into my GPU, and it didn't work. This time I plugged it in, and it brought up a display. Hallelujah! God bless you, sir. For your assistance.
I just changed new VGA 2070 super (Asus prime h310 M-E +i59400f ) work fine with DP TO DP monitor and 2 days after I decided to upgraded motherboard to Asus z490p +i5 10400 PROBLEM NOW DP TO DP MONITOR "NO SIGNAL "
The one obvious issue not mentioned is if you just updated your video driver with a buggy one. This happened to me tonight. System ran fine until I rebooted, then the no power messaged started floating across the black display. To fix this you need to boot up in safe mode and uninstall the buggy drive or go back to the last good restore point on the pc. You can look online how to reboot in safe mode. In Windows 10 you need to turn off and restart your pc three or more times before the restore screen pops up. You then need to go to the Troubleshoot option.
I just had my rig updated and it's been so long that I've never had an HDMI port in the actual graphics card before. I kept plugging the HDMI monitor cable in the onboard HDMI port and tried three different monitors, two power cables, and two HDMI cables before running to RUclips for help! Thank you for mentioning the two different ports because I'm not sure how long that would have taken me to figure out lol.
Not sure if this was in it but none of the things worked for me but then I tried unplugging everything in my computer except my main monitor and it worked then I plugged the rest of my stuff once it turned on but when I plugged in my second monitor it said no input again so I just kept my second monitor unplugged until my computer was fully on and it worked fine, I'm guessing since my power/electricity went out that it caused my computer to not give enough power to all my components until it was fully on because I only have this monitor problem when my electricity goes out. So from now on I know what to do
I cant thank you enough for this video. This is my first time building a pc and I just cant get it to connect to the monitor. I thought it was something with my dvi to vga adapter but I watched this vid and tried to clean my ram using eraser and it works! Thank you once again. I was so scared I did something wrong when i was building this
Life saver! My HDMI cord was plugged into the wrong spot. That's what I thought, but I needed to shine a flashlight on the back of my PC to see that. 😅
Was just about to buy a new RAM one was working the other wasn’t ! I took the CMO out to reset it . took out the RAM cleaned them and put them in so they clicked and it started up no beeps ! My monitor wasn’t switching on then I seen about the HDMI now my pc works !! Thanks so much
Hahahaha, just helped me fix my issue after an hour of trying. Apparently there are two HDMI ports and was connected to the wrong one. Thank you so much.
One thing that wasn't mentioned was the graphics card driver. I was troubleshooting another problem with mine (certain programs would often crash when I tried to either open a file or save a file). One of the solutions that Dr Google came up with was Update Your Graphics Card Driver, and gave instructions on how to get Windows to do that. Fine. Windows searched for drivers online, and then started installing it. Before it finished, the screen just went black. So I had to troubleshoot that as well. After trying online solutions that didn't work, I gave up and got a professional in to get it going again.
@@waterloutwo I don't remember exactly (he did it at my place while I was watching). What I think he did, he managed to boot it into safe mode or diagnostic mode, one or the other, found out what the video card was, downloaded a driver for it and installed it. I think that was the gist of it. At the end of the day, I was wise to get someone who knew more about it than I did to try and solve the problem. It worked.
What a brilliant way of explaining this. Thank you. It was simple fix but still needed lot of patience to understand exactly what the problem was. Appreciate it keep posting great videos.
Oh my gosh you are a life savor I just built a new of everything working greatly. Then when I go to boot up my monitor it said no signal. After 2 days or tears I tried switching my cables and boom just like thAt. Thank you sm

So, I'm trying to set my laptop (Asus ROG Zephyrus GX501) up with two other monitors. As long as I just plug in one of them, everything works fine. Once I plug in the third, it doesn't show any signal, though the laptop does detect another plugged in monitor. The monitor also shows that it's connected to a PC, it just doesn't put anything out. Tried different setups - HDMI (monitor) to USB-C (Laptop) HDMI (Monitor) to Adapter to USB 3 (Laptop). Since I want to expand my screen (not duplicate), a splitter won't do any good. The first additional monitor works just fine, no matter which port it is plugged in, the second, however won't. I can use mentioned "second" additional monitor as the only additional just as well, then it works fine. So it's not defective.

Check that you have a good cable, and that the lid of the port is removed, the black plastic bit. then make sure you have connected the power supply to the gpu by connecting the pcie cable. Plug the cable in to your gpu not the motherboard. tell me if you have doubts
Hey man I just got this 1660 super and I’ve tried everything to stop this flickering in my pc it was fine the first time I put it on and then my screen turned gray and just turned off and everything started flickering I had a 1030 before I just don’t know what to do anymore
Thank you Brian. BTW, that display is very dirty. That drives me crazy to see a display with finger prints all over it and greasy streaks. Why not show us how you clean your display?
My bench monitors get dirty sometimes. I clean them, but not as regular as the monitors and equipment that I use all the time. The bench room has an air filter and has to be cleaned almost daily, but dust still occurs from normal air from pulling boxes off shelves with other test equipment, pulling boxes of equipment to replace bad components - it's not a vacuum. I even have covers on exposed equipment - dust still gets in. I'd rather get paid repairing things than making no money because things have a little dust on them. They'll get cleaned eventually.
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH I was ready to buy a new monitor because I plugged the hdmi in the wrong slot . And guys check where you plugging in the hdmi in your cpu don't plug it in the motherboard which is the main backpanel it's very big so you can identitfy it easily but plug it the hdmi socket below the big panel which is your GPU and even if you don't have it there will be some panel there so plug it there for your display to show up 😊😊😊😊
Unplug all hdmi cables apart from your monitor, and it'll boot up. Not sure why, but I assume it's because having two hdmi outs is confusing the computer. I have a oculus rift so I unplugged it and it worked again. Plug it back in after, then boom.
If your card is set for your previous monitor, then things could go wrong with the new one (a 10 bits color depth could be a no go I think). In my case, the monitor would display the bios, but nothing after that.
Thanks for the upload, It happened to me 2 days ago and I was really upset, since my pc is new. PC powered on, but no signs on monitor, mouse, or keyboard. I opened it, removed my ram/graphics card/battery and put them back on And then it was working I suggest those who run into the same problem to do the same
Thanks Brian I have a issue with an old Acer desktop PC that's not booting up, seems to have various issues so I have my fingers crossed that some of this may help, if not maybe you don't live to far away!
I just cleaned my pc and i added 8 gb ram...after that i tryed to start it and i got this problem.I removed the 8gb that i added and all was working again..thank god
Heh mate, I cleaned each of the connectors on my 6 yr old out of storage now pc build. I did the gpu, 4x RAM, and CMOS battery at least 4x over 2 evenings. The no signal sign disappeared for a short session but would come back after turning the pc off then on again. I finally realized the CR2032 battery must not be producing 3.0 V. Its replaced now, the 2 Acer monitors display prooerly. Thank you sincerely for a thorough training video.
All I did was unplug the computer and plug it back in. Now I get a “no signal” message every time I turn it on. 3-Month Update: I didn’t turn the pc on. I’m an idiot.
@@lostyplayz2799 thanks for the tip but I actually figured it out, so what happened was that when I moved my computer it somehow uninstalled Intel and Intel drivers which didn't allow my VGA monitor cable to connect to my PC properly after installing that it fixed 😔
So I took my ram out and cleaned as best as I could, not sure if this was the fix since it wasn't instant, the only other thing I did was; Unplugged my monitor's power cable whilst it was turned ON [important since everytime I turned my monitor off and changed the plugs input it didn't work] and change the input that the power cable went into, monitor then turn on. This fix for me was achieved after 30mins of pulling all cords out and switching power inputs while monitor was off to no avail, Also I had no idea how to safely push the ram back in, I discovered that by laying the system on it's side and just pushing it in moved the clips that old it in closer, closer enough for me to push them and lock it in, I'm not ashamed to say that yes I freaked out not knowing how hard I could push the ram into place however with Gravity's assist just a regular medium push was enough. Good luck have fun until the next time it happens and you punch the fuckers lights out for real, I almost did yet... $800 doesn't grow on trees in my neighborhood.
I have the same problem, but it dosent recognize the mouse or keyboard, and when I leave the computer resting for a very long time, it works again like normal
Sr.Poludo hey mate I have the same issue, I left it rest for like 3 weeks then I turned it on for checking if it works and it worked normally till yesterday ... now I have the same problem... I think that’s because of the psu that doesn’t give enough power to ur gpu to work idk.... tell me if u have some good news so I can repair my pc too 😄
People here talking about how they mistakenly plugged hdmi to the motherboard and not gpu. I’m sitting here plugging my hdmi to gpu and the screen is black, when I plug it to the motherboard it works but my external gpu doesn’t work and shows up as hidden
i agree that those are the steps...but I eliminated my PC as the problem quickly. I get a blink on the screen to see windows screen and then dark. Turn off power and back on, get to see screen for microsecond. Tested the monitor power cord/supply and fine. Tested HDMI cord which was fine. Put on another monitor same cords, it worked perfectly. Obvious stuff. But I want to know what's wrong with the monitor...that blink that shows me the screen gives me hope of something easily fixable. So I guess the search goes on to figure out how to get to the "internals" and figure out whether it is just part, or needs a solder or what. I've got the time so why not. You got a video testing such things?
I just change to another HDMI cable & the monitor signal came back. Sometimes it's just a technical other times it's just weird computer gone crazy 🤪 with 50:50 probability.
I'm loosing my marbles here.... I was in the middle of a five page essay when my computer just stop responding. I moved the mouse and noticed the cursor did not show on the screen. I did the ctrl Alt delete, but nothing came up so I pressed the power button to turn off the computer, I waited 30 sec then turned it back on. Now my keyboard, mouse nor monitor came on. So I called HP Tech support ( FYI I just bought this Omen Obelisk gaming Desk top computer for $1400 in Feb. 2020) after the agent had me try pressing F10 rapidly after turning the computer on (the monitor still had no signal) so he said turn the computer off again, then he had me try pressing the windows button while holding down the letter B button then while holding them both down turn on the computer again, again I the no signal going to sleep bit, so he came to the conclusion my BIOS crashed and my unit needed to be sent in for service.. So I go back to where I purchased my computer (I work from home and go to school from home) so naturally Im pissed. After calming me down the manager gave me a loaner computer to use while mine gets service. We check it in the store every thing seems to work. So tell me why when I get home, I set it up and what do you know The hot damn monitor says no signal and going to sleep! The same damn thing Id just left my system at the store for 👀👀👀 What's really going on here??? I went out and bought new HDMI cables (expensive ones at that) to see if that fixed the problem, but no dice... Any advise out there please post it. 😭😭😭
I want to sincerely thank you this saved me so much time and possibly money I looked at so many channels turns out I plugged it into the wrong port seriously thank you!
I have absolutely zero clue what to do now. It was working PERFECTLY fine and I went to change my cpu fan, it took minutes. Now everything boots up and I don’t have a fucking display now.
Hey man my pc was working fine with graphic card i changed to bug monitor and didn't get display then i go back to old monitor and now it's also not working and remove gpu then it worked and with gpu i don't get display! Help plz
I updated my windows and the pc wouldn't connect to the monitor, i thought it was a problem with the pc but it turns out the hdmi cable was damaged. THANK YOU SO MUCH
Another thing - if you've just upgraded your dedicated Gpu and are getting no output, upgrade the motherboard Bios. I've run into this many many times and resolved it this way (and no, a cmos clear did not resolve the issue).

Mmm good idea
Just a test monitor, but yeah sounds good.
And guys check where you plugging in the hdmi in your cpu don't plug it in the motherboard which is the main backpanel it's very big so you can identitfy it easily but plug it the hdmi socket below the big panel which is your GPU and even if you don't have it there will be some panel there so plug it there for your display to show up 😊😊😊😊
BIG THANKS😀 it was the wrong port 🤩👍🏻✨
same thing
Unplug all hdmi cables apart from your monitor, and it'll boot up. Not sure why, but I assume it's because having two hdmi outs is confusing the computer. I have a oculus rift so I unplugged it and it worked again. Plug it back in after, then boom.
You make things so easy thank you! I kind of feel stupid with what I had trouble with since you fixed it asap!
What was it??
If your card is set for your previous monitor, then things could go wrong with the new one (a 10 bits color depth could be a no go I think). In my case, the monitor would display the bios, but nothing after that.
How did you fix that
Thanks for the upload, It happened to me 2 days ago and I was really upset, since my pc is new.
PC powered on, but no signs on monitor, mouse, or keyboard.
I opened it, removed my ram/graphics card/battery and put them back on
And then it was working
I suggest those who run into the same problem to do the same
Thanks for letting us know
Thanks Brian I have a issue with an old Acer desktop PC that's not booting up, seems to have various issues so I have my fingers crossed that some of this may help, if not maybe you don't live to far away!
You in UK
@@Britec09 Yes I live in Essex
I just cleaned my pc and i added 8 gb ram...after that i tryed to start it and i got this problem.I removed the 8gb that i added and all was working again..thank god
You didn’t put the ram in all the way
Heh mate, I cleaned each of the connectors on my 6 yr old out of storage now pc build.
I’m an idiot.
same
Same
and i can't find a fix
@@saehtnyS try changing the hdmi to a different port. You can try the graphics card one or the motherboard. I tried and it fixed the problem
@@lostyplayz2799 thanks for the tip but I actually figured it out, so what happened was that when I moved my computer it somehow uninstalled Intel and Intel drivers which didn't allow my VGA monitor cable to connect to my PC properly after installing that it fixed 😔
Wrong port. Moved my computer and plugged the hdmi cable into the motherboard instead of the gpu. Thanks for fixing it in the first 60 seconds.
Thank you, I'm new to all these and this video worked for me. Great explanation
after hours of research i came here and it worked subbed and liked!
You’re the best man. Actually helped me so much!
This is a big help for me. I plug in my hdmi to my mobo not in my gpu and finally i saw this video and my monitor now have signal. 👍
I fixed my problem with plugging out the Ethernet cable and that worked
Thanks mate!
Unplugging*
A thousand million Thanks u saved me alot of unnecessary Headaches
Huge thanks Man, that was so helpful!!
You're welcome
Mine is not working
Jordan Erasmus no need to hate
Oh sorry bro didn't know it was that bad
Out of 100 videos this man helped 100% thank you so much amazing
I don't know who you are, but I love you.
Thank you
So I took my ram out and cleaned as best as I could, not sure if this was the fix since it wasn't instant, the only other thing I did was; Unplugged my monitor's power cable whilst it was turned ON [important since everytime I turned my monitor off and changed the plugs input it didn't work] and change the input that the power cable went into, monitor then turn on.
This fix for me was achieved after 30mins of pulling all cords out and switching power inputs while monitor was off to no avail,
Also I had no idea how to safely push the ram back in, I discovered that by laying the system on it's side and just pushing it in moved the clips that old it in closer, closer enough for me to push them and lock it in, I'm not ashamed to say that yes I freaked out not knowing how hard I could push the ram into place however with Gravity's assist just a regular medium push was enough.
Good luck have fun until the next time it happens and you punch the fuckers lights out for real, I almost did yet... $800 doesn't grow on trees in my neighborhood.
I click the power button, my monitor turns on and says no signal, then my computer starts screeching.
Screeching is an automatic sign of ⚠️BAD⚠️
I have the same problem, but it dosent recognize the mouse or keyboard, and when I leave the computer resting for a very long time, it works again like normal
But I need help :(
Sr.Poludo hey mate I have the same issue, I left it rest for like 3 weeks then I turned it on for checking if it works and it worked normally till yesterday ... now I have the same problem... I think that’s because of the psu that doesn’t give enough power to ur gpu to work idk.... tell me if u have some good news so I can repair my pc too 😄
Found out it was my ram :')
People here talking about how they mistakenly plugged hdmi to the motherboard and not gpu. I’m sitting here plugging my hdmi to gpu and the screen is black, when I plug it to the motherboard it works but my external gpu doesn’t work and shows up as hidden
Good Advise, Wish i had part of your cpu embedded in my head.
lol
i agree that those are the steps...but I eliminated my PC as the problem quickly.
Ik it's off topic and random but you can do 50/50 instead of 50:50
Lucky
Guys, if all else fails, try nyo ijump yung “CLEAR CMOS” na 2 pin sa motherboard. It just worked for me today after trying all methods.
The same damn thing Id just left my system at the store for 👀👀👀
What's really going on here???
I went out and bought new HDMI cables (expensive ones at that) to see if that fixed the problem, but no dice... Any advise out there please post it. 😭😭😭
Dude you saved my life, I tried the f10 spam and its working!
Did you find a solution
Thank you, worked. For me it was just plugging in the cable into the GPU.
Thank you so much, I've been at it for almost an hour and you helped a lot.
My pc broke for a 10 months now and still not tixed
@@Cameronfernandessame smh
Bro mine is some shitty dell pc the thing just prob doesn’t work bc it’s like 2 years old
I want to sincerely thank you this saved me so much time and possibly money I looked at so many channels turns out I plugged it into the wrong port seriously thank you!
You're welcome
This is currently the same issue i am having now. Thanks for a good and detailed video 👍
I have absolutely zero clue what to do now. It was working PERFECTLY fine and I went to change my cpu fan, it took minutes. Now everything boots up and I don’t have a fucking display now.
7:23 thanks it fixed mine.
I was about to throw hands with my pc god bless you sir
Hey man my pc was working fine with graphic card i changed to bug monitor and didn't get display then i go back to old monitor and now it's also not working and remove gpu then it worked and with gpu i don't get display! Help plz
Any updates?
I updated my windows and the pc wouldn't connect to the monitor, i thought it was a problem with the pc but it turns out the hdmi cable was damaged. THANK YOU SO MUCH
A great video! Thank you for sharing! I really enjoyed it!
WOW. I just had to plug it into a different port. Thank you so much.
I'm confused mine works just fine but sometimes when I turn it on my monitor gets no signal any solutions?
same here
Did u fix it?
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I plugged the HDMI into the graphics card and it worked!
Rituals useful information briefly clear ideas steps you rock Brian God bless you. My best regard 😍😍😚
You're welcome
Another thing - if you've just upgraded your dedicated Gpu and are getting no output, upgrade the motherboard Bios. I've run into this many many times and resolved it this way (and no, a cmos clear did not resolve the issue).
I don’t have windows activated could that be the problem? I went tried 2 DP cables and I still get no signal
Did you figure that out ? Was that the problem? I need to know
Did everything in the video and one of them worked! I dont know which but thanks man!! I was panicking
