Superb band, one of the greats, there's a reason they have sold 100 million copies + of their albums, had almost no radio airplay yet they sell out soccer size stadiums around the world; one of the best musical outfits of the last 2 centuries now; Steve Harris is freaking brilliant!

Iron Maiden's posters were insane. I had them all over my bedroom walls growing up. Their mascot, Eddie, who was also known as Eddie the Head, features on all their posters, album covers, merchandise etc, and hidden in the poster was the number 666, and we would search the poster to find the number. 😂. They have a song called The Number of the Beast, which is awesome.
I remember some people would be freaked out because they couldn't understand how I could sleep at night with Eddie looming over me on my wall above my head. 😂

you're new to heavy metal, that's great :) this is a good classic from a classic band. iron maiden is melodic and easy to listen for new people. number of the beast the official video is cool too
if you get into their discography, i think they compose a lot of beautiful music. i love the solos in their career. their discography is full of hidden gems (powerslave, alexander the great, caught somewhere in time...)

One of my favourite song. Bassist Steve Harris founder & main song writer of this band. He is world's no. 1 heavy metal bassist. (Just google it you'll get your answer). Bruce Dickinson is second vocalist of this band since 1981. He is multi-talented guy. You can read his & also this band's biography. Btw in this song first solo played by Dave Murray & second Adrian Smith. Drummer - Clive Burr. (He was member from 1979 to 1982) Died on 2013. 💔 From 1983 to present Nicko McBrain is drummer. In 1990 guitarist Janick Gers joined this band. He initially joined to replace Adrian Smith but remained in the band even after Smith rejoined in 1999. From then they have 3 guitarist. Their first vocalist was Paul Di'anno (1978 to 1981) & Blaze Bayley was also lead vocalist of this band during Bruce's absence from 1994 to 1999. Dennis Stratton was guitarist from 1979 to 1980). Dave Murray is old member of this band. (Joined in 1976). The amazing fact is still they play live & no doubt Iron Maiden is one of the greatest & best live heavy metal band in the world. Great reaction!!! Enjoy this music journey. I heard them for the first time in 1983. Wow, what an experience. I still get goose bumbs at times, can't beat that. Songs listed above are all great!!! Starting in 1980, the band went from a sort of punk-metal for 2 albums to metal/hard rock for the next few, to progressive hard rock after that. Their collective influences are heavily slanted in the direction of 70s prog and classic rock, with some blues and celtic thrown in, not metal. This performance is probably #1 on their live list, followed by The Talisman (En Vivo), Rime of the Ancient Mariner (Flight 666), and Paschendale (Death on the Road). But they have dozens of others that aren't far off. Check out their studio tracks, but never bypass the opportunity to see the live version. Arguably the best live band ever, spanning 40+ years.
I strongly recommend The Talisman from En Vivo. It’s the first song I play when I go running 🏃🤘🏼
