Keep making these solo trip videos, thanks Brae. Some nice shots as usual. Question, what was your longest solo trip and what is your opinion about solo trips (with photography as main focus). I did already some solo photo trips a few times and got one planned in the near future. I guess most people wouldn't understand or ask isn't it boring to go out alone?
Thank you! As far as solo backpacking, I usually always just do one night. My pack weight is pretty heavy with all of the camera gear and I usually don't want to pack two night's worth of food with me on these trips. It usually isn't boring to me because I have something to do (photography) while I am up there. But I can imagine that if you are just going on a backpacking trip for the sake of backpacking, that more than a couple nights would start to get a bit lonely if you were by yourself. Cheers!
I actaully had some Temporary work lined up in Crystal mountian that ended up getting canceled out and I was extremely bummed out... its great to see it from your perspective especially since i didn't get to go
You got spectacular views there. Thanks for sharing your trip and the wonderful images. Seems like the 43 mm is the new favorite. Tomorrow I am going to the most northern part of Sweden for a week long backpacking hike. Bringing my Mamiya C220 😃
I'll be staying in Seattle for September and it will be my first time west of Chicago, super excited but not as much so hauling the 4x5 everywhere LOL. Love that little camera clip holder for your backpack strap though, this video made me super excited!
Washington state should add you to their tourism board and pay you accordingly. No one has made me want to visit that beautiful state more than you have. Looks absolutely magical.
You got some amazing shots there Brae! Really digging the self portraits but the landscapes were simply breathtaking, I'd definitely buy a book of your best backpacking trip photos!
Great video ! Loving the self portrait series which is a great way to make unique landscape photos. Two Crawford is another Europe based photographer on RUclips who does great self portraits in Landscapes.
I am so fucking envious of those landscapes. All that pine tree covered land is amazing to me! Here where I live in Norway, pine forests are tiny and surrounded by much uglier forests of other less nice looking trees. Additionally those small pine forests have started disappearing because people with money want more money so they cut them down and sell the lumber. The landscapes in this video are the most beautiful landscapes I have ever seen!
I agree. I live in Norway aswell. The forest that I used to shoot birds is already gone because they want to build some factory or a ship dock. Birds have disappeared. It's really sad to see.
We are very fortunate here in the northwest to have some of the most beautiful landscapes right in our backyard! I appreciate you watching the video! I'll actually be in Norway in about a month. Looking forward to taking some photos out there!
@@BraeHunziker wow! Where in Norway are you going to visit? Hopefully in the west! With lots of hiking trails and the Fjords! If you want you can hit me up and we can take photos together:)
@@BraeHunziker Oh cool! Are you making a video about it? Looking forward to seeing your photos. I’m sure you’re gonna visit some of the more scenic parts of Norway. I live in the south where the landscape is less impressive. (It’s not too bad though.)
these photos were A M A Z I N G !! i'd be so proud if they were mine 🤣 really wished for some blue hour as well but it gets damn cold over there once the sun sets
Thank you! Yeah I wanted to stay up there post sunset but getting down in the dark was going to be sketchy. Have some blue hour shots in my next backpacking video coming out soon!
For the particular lens that I had on the camera in this video, the built in viewfinder does not have frame lines to match the focal length. The external viewfinder allows for accurate compositions with the wider lens!
You have reinvigorated my desire to backpack (I've watched your backpacking vids over and over lol) but im curious what size pack youre using?? I dont want to pack too much or too little.
Love it! This pack is a 65L. For one night trips you could do a 55L or even 45L if you're not bringing any camera gear, just essentials. However for multi day trips or for lugging extra gear with you, I prefer the 65L.
Too bad i was looking on this video today, one more day to work, otherwise i could have a Guinnes in my hand... 3:40 Temperature in the water in celcius? Thanks for a good video as usual.
I wish they had an app where you could download a photo of a mountain or whatever and it would search its database for a name, kind of like the night sky… Someone should invent that.
Had the pole with me but just ended up taking photos the whole time instead 😅 Been up two more times since this trip and fished for about ~5 hours combined between the two trips and got skunked both times!! Need to get one this summer haha
Love this new upload, makes me want to get out and hike! Just my opinion but I feel you photos have been too wide. The preview you have on the video looks better from a compression perspective. Just my opinion as they are still brilliant photos.
Thanks for the feedback! I guess I just love getting everything I can in frame. These wide angle images would probably best be suited in large print form as opposed to online viewing, I suppose. Cheers!
@BraeHunziker yeah that's it, look forward to seeing some prints. Thinking more after posting the comment and the wide angle was spot on where you had a close foreground subject. The photos on the ridge highlighted this. Anyway, looking forward to your next adventure!
You probably already know this…Backpacking Brae just hits different!
It is good to be back!
Sure, miss this Brae, Backpacking Brae is the reason i followed him
Ive been refreshing my sub feed all day and finally... someone uploaded. Love these videos. Keep killing it Brae!
Thank you dude 🙏🏼
youuuu ohh man. really deserve 1 million subs and more
Thank you!
Important to have a sure footing in these backroads at high altitude. Beautiful scenery all around. Cheers.
Definitely. Thanks for checking out the video!
Spectacular cinematic experience man! Your cinematic skills and storytelling are incredible! 👏👏
I really appreciate it. Thanks!
Wow, Brae! This trip alone is worth a book. Amazing.
Ah thank you dude!
Have a 2028 Washington road and hiking trip in my bucket list and I'll definitely go through so many of your videos for inspiration!
Love it!
My god what a great video and vibe
Thanks for watching!
The self portraits look so good! More reason to love these backpacking videos
Thanks so much!
Awesome video bro, man I love this state, so much diversity in the landscape, keep up the awesome work!
Yeah you can't beat it! Cheers and thanks for watching
Nice shots man. Always love having those "holy f#ck" moments in the mountains. No better way to feel alive. :)
Agreed! Thanks for watching!
Beautiful video. Amazing views. Enjoyed watching the video. Thanks for sharing. 👍

Espectaculares paisajes. Gran trabajo por poner en valor joyas de la naturaleza como esa!
¡Muchas gracias!
Another good video and the self portraits are great.
Thanks very much!
that hike was really worth the effort, what a great place, boy do I wish I could walk it.👌🏻
Yeah it was an incredible spot. Thanks for watching!
You make lovely films. The stills were very good. Fantastic scenery. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Holy shit, Mt. Rainier is on another level! Got up into the wilderness on Mt. Baker a couple weeks back. Killed me to have to leave before sunset 😭.
Mt. Baker at sunset/sunrise is unreal. Had maybe the most beautiful morning of my life there a few years ago!
Great video and amazing pictures!
Thanks!!

Epic shots - great vid 😊
Thanks!
absolutely love it
Appreciate it!!
One day, I'll create a RUclips channel that is just as good as Brae's. Manifesting. This is literally my favorite film photography channel

Nice job bro!

Love the video! What’s the eye piece on your hot shoe and does it replace the viewfinder on your camera?
For the particular lens that I had on the camera in this video, the built in viewfinder does not have frame lines to match the focal length. The external viewfinder allows for accurate compositions with the wider lens!
1:15 needed that hiking Yosemite isn’t a “easy” hike 😓
If you ever make your way to socal lemme know I'd love to link up hike some trails and snap some photos!

Just need a fishing pole😮
Can you tell me which camera you use for video shooting?
Sony a7iv

I’m a sappy guy what can I say lol
Brother, how do the straps not rub your shoulders raw? Great video, young man.
The straps on this bag are really comfortable actually. Made out of a pretty soft material that doesn’t feel too bad against skin.
Are you scared of bears?!!
Not a big issue here in Washington
