Great job keeping fochsed
@ Graham Talk to him. Also, Alex ask Graham why he pronounces Illinois wrong
Better crossover than The Avengers.
I’m also originally from West Chicago- and Alex is an old friend of mine! He’s been killing it & hustling for years. So happy to see him on here.

I might be wrong but perhaps CNBC are going into the direction of good examples of financial responsibility to educate their viewers. Imagine you only see complete train wrecks - even if you are generally able to recognize how they're effing up, it just normalizes it for you and you think: "yeah, it's bad, but everyone does this so I'm fine to mess up just as much"
Great point.
I’m glad they’re doing it, it fights the stereotype of millennials being dumb with money. We’re not all McDonald’s workers with art degrees.
Thats true. I definitely thought something along those lines when I watched the first episodes of MM. I was like “damn everyone spends like this huh?”
CNBC doesn’t actually care for the wellbeing of its viewers lol. All they care about is getting more views. This new direction of good examples must be working towards that goal.
For sure. That’s a good analysis I never looked at it in that way
Could've made $1.63 in 20 years off that extra $0.02
IKR! At a 10% annual interest rate where you invest that $0.02 everyday, you will have 462$ after 20 years! Talk about bad financial decisions man! ;)
You could’ve bought a snickers with that money or an avocado at these prices
He's investing that on his health

For a minute I thought no one was gonna say anything... thank you...
I saw this episode yesterday and this guy killed it in life. He saves more than people make a month 👍
Graham, how can you live with yourself spending 22¢ on an *iced coffee*
Goat Farm Productions I’m honestly discussed
How can you save spending that much......disgustang
Lifestyle inflation at its finest
@@TheNewSchoolGamer shameful behaviour
Goat Farm Productions hahaha
Lifestyle inflation really hitting Graham hard, buying a pumpkin coffee creamer which is organic as well, jeeez I think you need to watch that spending!
man this guy is 24 is he's got everything together and everything is heading the right direction. Future multi millionaire and still work and live like a paycheck to paycheck guy
Gotta live like the opposite of what you wanna become in the future. Frugal now, rich later. Or baller now, and homeless in 10 years.
When I saw the budget of $9k per month, I thought Graham would freak...
... then I saw $7k in savings :'(
Investing Engineered lol right 😂
I really wish they broke down the taxes for these millennial money videos. Theres a huge difference between making $230k gross and giving half to Uncle Sam, and making $230k net from job and all side hustles. It’d be interesting to see how people deduct things to save on taxes too.
it says he makes 13,100 per month after taxes. Do the math.
Yeah, he makes 230k gross and keeps 157k according to the video, if you have watched it. So he is paying 32% in total taxes, it is a lot of money in taxes, but since he is in a very high bracket, I must say not that bad.
I would love to only pay 32% - in the UK, I make closer to his net and I pay what works out at 65% because we lose allowances and pension contributions after 100k
@@1588chrissy wow! is it really that bad in UK with taxes? I have checked the tax rates recently for up to 50k salary and it's less than in my small poor country where even 12k salary a year gets over 27% taxes. (latvia )
Gaming2TOP yup, its pretty crap. As soon as you reach 100, you are taxed from £1 but under, the first £12k is tax free. Its a deterrent to work harder or earn more. Try making money from propery and it gets worse - taxed at top plus taxed on your mortgage costs! Imagine businesses on their gross as that’s what its like.
"now that we've put in our dues for CNBC we can watch the video"... gets ad 3 seconds later
Elijah Orr me too it was interesting timing
smart timing
I would encourage him to keep the lawn care side hustle going, because it sounds like he's pretty dang close to making it a passive income!
Also his main job is very taxing socially and physically on his body. Itd be good to develop his lawn care business enough to be able to make up enough difference of his job so he could do less overtime and spend time with his family or in case he gets injured/sick. He could stop working his main job altogether and still save a few thousand a month if he develops the business enough. It wont be 230k a year, but its still great considering he wants to have a bunch of rental properties too. Its a good backup.
@@saraashkir5793 he could hire others to do it...
twin cherry He’d have to develop it enough at first so it generates enough revenue to hire enough people to the point of him not working it but still earning a profit. I dont think its at that point yet
@@saraashkir5793 he should work on getting to that point sooner.
Honestly, trade jobs are seriously underrated. With many of them you also have the choice of working for someone else or starting your own business 👍

Finally Chicago but come on Graham dont disrespect my state like that! We all know you dont pronounce the S in Illinois.....
I honestly had no idea the “s” was silent!

For people who don’t know, lineman have to meet certain requirements physically so not everyone can be a lineman. You have to be tall and heavy. Really happy for him though and I think more people need to know about blue collar jobs that pay well because not everyone needs to go to college
Mikaela Zamarron honestly I’m gonna go look at openings after this. I fit those requirements...32 though but that’s still young.
Joshua Samuels i have a friend who’s a linemen in his late 30s and his body is worn out. it’s some tough work, but that’s why it pays so much
@@PS3Rules500 what do they do?
Garnet S Word they fix telephone poles/lines, but they do a very broad spectrum of things, my buddy really only fixes the lines
@@PS3Rules500 thank you for your reply. I was just reading a little more about it down in the comment section. The danger risk is high.
Also I've noticed I don't meet people who dream about becoming firefighters. I know it's a big problem in certain areas of the globe, so maybe that's why.
*Reads the thumbnail*
Me: How the hell is a 24 year old making that much money!
*Finds out his job*
Me: Oh hell yeah he def deserves that much money good for you man!
@sdhbfhkds Yeah. My friend's fiance did really well making money being an elevator repairman specializing in repairs that involve the power still being on. Until the day they found him dead from electrocution :/
Though being a lineman means he's probably an apprenticed electrician so he can probably transition into residential work and taking on apprentices of his own etc. There is potential for him.
@@NatashaEstrada yep, my partner is an electrician and wont do this type of work due to the danger involved and he won't do high voltage either.
he always texts if he is going into a switchboard (the big ones) just in case something happens. Ive worked on little ones, and thats scary enough for me (DC not AC in telephone exchanges).
@@jadiecakes3241 Yeah I think I would have made a really great electrician because I'm very technical and detailed orientated but I also have a very big fear of voltage.
I'm currently attending a community college to get some IT certifications as well as my Associates. (100% of it's covered by Pell Grants) Last night, my instructor had a former student call in and tell us about her life after attending the college and getting her certifications. She told us she started at $58,000 right out of college and was now earning six figures, about 2 years later.
Our instructor was saying: See? Getting your degree is going to really help you get ahead in the field.
She interrupted him and said sheepishly: Actually, I just got my certs and I haven't gotten my Associates degree yet. :P
I spent a year and got my vocational nursing license and was making $60k of that 1-year diploma. I eventually quit to start my own business. I never ended up "upgrading" that diploma to an RN degree but the cost of education was going to be too high and involve having to quit my job to go back to school full time. I eventually did graduate college from WGU which is a competency-based degree and completed the entire thing in one 6 month term for a total cost of $3k
Of course, don't admire me too much because I blew a lot of tuition money in my 20's going to fashion school womp womp. Though my business is related to that field I didn't need to go to school for it.
Natasha Estrada What kind of business are you in
Being a lineman is definitely a well paying job in my area of Canada. They work a lot of overtime when there are weather related events and car accidents and things so that's probably why their salary seems so extra high.
"It becomes a lot harder to mess up the more money you make"
that phrase explains a lot about our culture
I, for one, like these positive Millennial Money vids. They’re inspiring!
Graham: Gets ad on CNBC
*1 second later*
Me: Gets 3 ads in a row
We need more positive examples, there are plenty of screw ups.
My brother is currently in a Linesman training program which is less than a year long (unless you want your associates degree, and have more opportunities in leadership positions).
He just climbed the 60ft pole yesterday, 25% percent of the “class” has dropped out already and they are less then a week in.
He gonna be making BANK 🙃
The programs I looked up are only 15 weeks long.... honestly curious as to if this could be a decent job for a physically fit woman. Obviously don’t expect many women to be doing it....but Was thinking of going back to school, but that MM video has given halt to that consideration and I wanna look more into that job or those like it.
Jen Tuesday. There is one woman in his classes, woman/ military are almost always the first hired
*CNBC about to publish an article on creamer prices sending millennials into debt*

This dude is doing great! Keep it going, Alex, you are going to smash your goal! 💵💵💵💵💵💵💵
I think he's actually making even more passive income with his lawncare business. Theres a possibility his brother runs it as a manager and Alex is the BUSINESS OWNER. He probably read Cashlow Quadrant from Robert Kiyosaki and realises the importance of being on the right side of the quadrant.
But I could be wrong lol
It also provides stable work for his family. That's worth more than what it looks like on paper.
@@NatashaEstrada definitely
If his lawn work is high quality enough, his clientele can grow quickly. My mom started cleaning houses as a side hustle and now she just stays home and collects her checks! Took her about 5 years to get to that point, though.
Came across your channel a few weeks ago and I love your content! Your super inspiring and seem like a great guy! Keep up the videos :)

This dude saves my yearly salary every year (cries in student loan debt)
With the law care business if he grows a good reputation he can do richer and richer areas. Palm Beach Island, the one Trumps place is on is super profitable for any service as it's a billionaires on there. Like $50,000 a month in law care. Businesses also pay a lot. Dual Love this would be amazing!
Here is the thing on the lawn care business. If it makes him happy to do that kind of work and he is profiting from it, then it is more like a hobby. HOWEVER. If you want to talk business, then it is still viable. The company is still pretty much in it's infancy. If he invests more into it and continues to grow the company, it can make him just as much as his main job. The main issue there would just be that more of his free time would be eaten up. The key is to keep growing the business and keep the workers busy. The first years are always the hardest, but once you get a good number of clients, the challenge then becomes management. Once management is solved, then growth becomes easier.
crazy how this morning in class my professor talked about her son whos a lineman and now this was on my recommended
Maybe this guy is Vice President (VP) of Lineman Cooperation, Millennials Division in Luxembourg who has 3 jobs and do overtime. That tattoo will definitely help with job interviews
Being from Chicago, whenever I hear someone pronounce "IllinoiS" with the S I cringe lol c'mon Graham
In the Netherlands we have to study so hard for a college degree and don't make more than 30-40K Net. within 5 years, while housing here is like 300-400K for considered 'normal' house for 1 family... Dam...
@Erik We have to work hard! It is possible!
Damn Graham that life style inflation really doing numbers on you I’m disappointed 🤦🏻♂️
I don't know about everyone else, but I don't actually want you to be angry and upset in your videos. I find a breakdown about why something works or doesn't to be a lot more enjoyable and helpful. The emotion is just a side thing in my mind.
When the man is saving my yearly income every month
$230K A Year and the man dresses and talks like a regular 9-5 worker. Then i go to the next video and see this chicks making like 40k a year and buys all high end stuff and talks like she's a super model who makes millions lol. Oh and this guy is not only making $230k a year, he even goes further and gets a side hustle that makes him 1-2k a year extra which is nothing compared to his main source of income but dude still hustles for everything he can get. Huge respect.

The median house price in Sydney, Australia is around 700,000 AUD - 800,000 AUD. It’s disgusting!
“Tesla would make life so much easier”
Yeah.
sandon skuce - The Tesla is actually terrible advice if he was serious.
skylinec83 how?
Because the guy drives an older model Ford Edge which I’m 99.99999% sure is paid off.
He’s got a 15-minute commute and a lot of the time he’s off on extended assignment which means he doesn’t use his car then anyway.
What is the point in getting a new $40-50k MINIMUM Tesla when his current vehicle is perfectly fine and laid off? To get a new car payment for the next 3-5 years? Paying for gas to see his GF every other day is still more financially prudent than buying a new car. Maybe you can argue time savings if you can factor in Autopilot. But that’s still a very small factor.
Not to mention the depreciation on Tesla’s are CRAZY high. Just take a look at Tesla resale values.
I am in no way against Tesla or EV’s in general. I had an EV for a few years and am a big fan. But it doesn’t make fiscal sense for this guy to get a Tesla even tho he can more than afford it.
Also to state the obvious but a Tesla will not help him reach his goal of being a millionaire by age 30. Driving his current vehicle as long as he can with proper maintenance will accomplish this goal.
If Tesla's ideas were put in the right place, this man would be out of job...
The prescriptions, medical bills, and possibly nursing homes will take it all by the time he is 55 -65 years old and maybe sooner if he is crippled from an accident. There is a reason it's all hard work for the pay. Do you think someone didn't estimate this beforehand?
1000 a month spent on his investment accounts seems a bit low he could easily 2x or 3x that
Yes! Alex NEEDS to be on the Graham Stephan show!
The “S” is silent in Illinois. West coast n00b.
FYI - organic DOES NOT mean it doesn’t have pesticides. For someone that is so research oriented I can’t believe you would say something like that.
Wait for it....Millennial Money!!! 💰
Going to go ahead and smash the like button.... and watch this later ! Because best millennial money = best Graham video
Doing that job though! I bet many would not though. I make $180k as investment analyst with bonus for a VC firm and the work is easy and safe. Those guys work in all weather, physically draining and super dangerous with people loosing limbs.
Believe it or not, it doesnt matter if the pumpkin spice latte creamer is organic or not. The peels of pumpkin are always discarded and the pesticides doesnt effect insides of it. Moreover, the creamers do not actually have cream in it. They are just chemicals. Try milk instead. The word "organic" is just a marketting technique to sell products that works both for fruits and vegetables.
Can you start watching “till debt do us part”?
