Graham: That girl drinks WAY too much Diet Coke. That can’t be healthy.
Also Graham: I can’t remember the last time I ate a vegetable.
I grimaced when he said that bit about veggies. Even if they're just a side dish, EAT VEGETABLES! They're delicious, they're good for your budget, and they're good for your body.
tokiobabe99 they taste awful. But I eats loads of them anyway 😂
Its a blessing i learned my cooking skills in India
Poor from him
Have you heard of carnivore diet. I eat veggies b/c I like them. But for some they can be overrated.
"I don't think the $3.50 ice coffee really makes a difference"
Graham: *TRIGGERED*
That's 17 cups of coffee for Graham ($0.20).
17 x $3.50 = $59.50 (her)
17 x .20 = $3.50 (him)
The difference is marvelous. That's why he's wealthy. They take it seriously. While people like her brush it off and giving in to impulse buy or what not.
i am dying laughing
In the long run, $0.20 iced coffee on the other hand literally saves millions
@@srreal4821 It can be a bit frustrating when incredibly wealthy people slag off anyone who buys coffee though. There are deeper economic problems than that small expense.
I earn £925/month. I do buy coffee; once a week I go to a cafe close to my flat, buy a coffee, and either read a book or write for a couple of hours. It's the best money I spend all week, and cutting out that £2.50 is not going to make me a millionaire.
Graham isn't wealthy because he doesn't by coffee, he's wealthy because he owns a vast amount of real estate.
Ceitidh ikr. It’s ridiculous when they do calculations like most people don’t buy coffee everyday... lmao for some people (like me) it’s just a treat so $5 isn’t a big deal
As a med student all I can think is "wow 115k is amazingly low". Gonna go cry now lol
Yesss. But at least your making bank later based on your speciality.
I'm a stem major also going into medicine with a family who works in medicine
High ROI to pay off loan
@Prokyon114 But the pay sucks
@@nintendoant88 False. We actually pay less for what we get compared to the States.
Vegetables don't last 26 weeks, if that is what you were asking. She is saying she is getting a CSA (community supported agriculture) share from a farm for 26 weeks, I am guessing 1x a week.
Yes this exactly how CSA works, was funny though when he thought it was all in the fridge 😆
@@MsEpicArt I was like.... what!? He thinks there are 26 weeks of vegetables in the fridge?! He's not a buffet genius.... he's pretty focused on a few things I think.
that was seriously the hardest ive laughed in a while. cmon graham
@Thelondonbadger that reminds me I still have bread in the freezer I forgot about, probably still good.
Is that a better deal then just buying vegetables at the store?
At this rate, CNBC gonna have Graham on their show next
Yooo Nate love your content broski
Nah fox wants him
Definitely!!
And then he could react to his own video. Very meta
Not sure Nate if Comcast would like that he these days has a bigger following and says mostly what he wants and he would more likely then not critique the production as he would have first hand experience with it if he where on it.
Social work does generally require a master's degree. So even though she could have attended a cheaper program, it was actually a necessity to pursue that field.
Which is especially unfortunate because it's important work but social workers don't earn enough for it to be a sound financial decision (what he was talking about with the ROI on grad degrees)
Agreed! I just finished up my masters degree in social work and I’m making literally double what I would at a bachelors level simply because I have a masters degree and qualify for those jobs now. And once I finish my supervised hours and pass my clinical board exam (done in about 2 years time and only able to be done with a masters degree), I’ll be making triple of what I would at a bachelors level by my mid 20s. Masters is critical for a social worker if you either a. want to be working outside of an agency child welfare job or b. want to make more then an entry level teacher salary or both.
@@chloeandersonkemp386 i am also a social worker. I just passed the license exam a few weeks ago. What state are you in tho, cuz in NYC it really doesn't make that huge of a difference. Especially given the standard of living here.
Mayanime3 Wisconsin. Interesting! I know for sure in the Midwest it makes a difference. Like if you go into social work, people already know you’re going to get your masters because otherwise the field and pay is very limited.
Mayanime3 congratulations btw! I just passed my license exam yesterday morning!
I died when I saw that the ENTIRE RUclips comment section on CNBC’s most recent Millennial Money video was ONLY ABOUT GRAHAM LOL
Wasn't only about him but it was pretty funny haha
Chris D'Andrea oh was it about this Graham?

Lmao
Graham would then have to react to his own millenial money
Marcus Plenty No the writers of CNBC would have to 😂
Graham you completely glossed over what you should be freaking out about: the forgiveness program. It started around 10 years ago and many people who should qualify for it don't because of extremely strict qualifications that aren't clear at all. I think 5% of people who applied were accepted. Look into it and maybe do a video over it. This girl is probably taking that debt to her grave.
this. More people need to see this.
I heard that's actually because people think they hit the 10 year mark, but they actually miss some requirements and they don't get accepted the first time when they hit 10 years making it look like so many people are just not getting it.
video on it: ruclips.net/video/-8jz0HK1sH8/видео.html
Hasan Minhaj did an amazing episode on the patriot act regarding student finance in the USA and it’s explained exactly what you’re saying about the impossible qualifying criteria!
This is literally all I was thinking when she talked about the forgiveness program. More people really need to understand this!
How does it work?
i lost it when she said she uses paypal for savings..

I love your financial way of thinking! I’m not a millionaire and I doubt I will ever be, but I pretty much do what you suggest to do, focus on paying off debt (student loan / mortgage), keep a strict budget, cook and eat in, get a pay rise and save the difference, save in general, search for the deals and discounts etc etc. My colleagues think I’m mad but I’ve managed to buy my first house in my 20’s, go on holidays at least once a year, renovate my house, have nice things and live comfortably. I really wish schools can teach us to save and handle finances. I’ve found that money is disciple.
This dude gets more views on a reaction than the actual videos.
Lmaoo then the entire comment section of the other video is about him. He might as well run their channel
He might have more total subscribers than cnbc
Hint* That's the idea. He produces what people want to see. More views = more money.
Honestly I didn't watch one episode on CNBC's channel, but I watched all of them here.
Symbiotic relationship 🤣
“I’ll just pay the minimum for years” 😬 the amount of interest that adds up...
you have to pay taxes on the amount that's forgiven so she could easily quadruple her loan just form interest and then have to pay taxes on the forgiven amount and it might just as well be as much as the original loan amount. Plus if she's striving to do that she should be putting extra money aside to cover that or cover in case she isn't on the PSLF anymore
@@jamie.does.things5531 oh wow, thanks for the info!
Who cares about the interest if she never plans to pay it back? As she said, if it’s not forgiven, she’ll just pay the $10 a month forever 🤷♀️

this girl would have to have a masters degree also in order to be a social worker for New York...she didnt have to go to NYU which is highway robbery and even though it is a good school, you have to be monetarily ignorant to ever go if taking loans. she could have same job with masters degree and owe under 45,000 if she was wise about school choice.
Idk but a lot of degrees that are expensive for undergrad are not for masters. I am looking for places where I can get my masters & uc berkeley (public, instate) is like 2x the price as a lot of private schools that are “expensive”
@@EwYoureCringe my instate university offered will pay you for a masters if you agree to teach classes and/or do research work for them.
It’s true, I went to a public university for social work and I have $18k in loans. Social work is a profession where you can be making anywhere between 23k-75k when you start, it’s not worth going to a private school. The social work circle in New York is also small, so networking also helps. That is how I have found good jobs
True she didn’t need to go NYU to get a social worker degree

I do my best to always watch ads, but these vids have been getting a little ad heavy for me. They really interrupt the flow to the point I can't keep track of the storyline and lose interest. The only reason I end up finishing a video is because I listen as I do other tasks. If I were sitting here trying to watch, I would probably turn on my ad blocker again. Otherwise, they have been enlightening. Edit:
As I finished typing this I realized I was stuck in a 12 minute ad...and it was the second of two ads, and the 5th? 6th? ad set over the course of the video. Ouch.
How else would he be a money-advice-giving millionaire?

You can choose, as a youtube creator, which kind of ads to run and whether they are skippable.... I guess it makes sense for him to have a lot of ads as someone who is overtly doing it for the money :) I have a feeling tho that there is a balance, where you don't want to annoy people too much, or it's true they will get ad block or go to other channels.....
@@WidarsHall nahh hes getting greedy with the ads..its almost unwatchable because of ads

I am a teacher so I qualify for that forgiveness program as well.
My question is: How the hell is she making qualifying payments of only $60 a month when she is on an income based repayment plan at $70,000 income? I make less than her and am paying far more per month on the REPAYE plan. Just doesn't make any sense to me.

It's a social investment. Plus sometimes my friends would just bring drinks and leave it in my fridge for whenever they came over so who knows right?
bruh, equity and equality are two different things and what shes saying makes 100% sense. Equality is a tall person and a short person both getting a box to stand on so they can reach apples on a tree but the shourt person still cant reach them. Equity is the short person getting both boxes so they can reach the apples while the tall person doesnt get a box bc they can reach the apples just fine without one.
Omg, only 4 minutes in and I think CNBC is deliberately trolling your channel. I don't think the $3.50 iced coffee makes a difference! Funniest moment ever.

Good job not spitting out your 20 cent coffee when she talked about her loans.
Graham -- I've noticed you have never talked about giving (or maybe I just haven't seen the video). Dave Ramsey says to be considerate and giving with your money. Where do you stand on this? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this through a video, and learn about what you do charity wise.
Yeah, I was really disappointed in how he phrased it. You should invest your money, but if you develop a mentality of not being charitable I feel that's a very shallow and meaningless life to live. At the end of your life, only a few things will really matter. The most wealthy people I personally know are INCREDIBLY generous.
I'm sure he gives an outrageous amount in taxes. Stop being greedy
Let me just say, I am a good read on people and as someone who believes in not publicly sharing the things I donate to, Graham donates plenty to good causes.

This girl is so obnoxious. Preaching equity and saying if you have money then you should give, all when she's attending expensive college, getting paid well, living in an expensive city and I don't see her giving. No, she's investing money into her own future as people should while acting like she has some moral high ground.
Exactly, I was rolling my eyes so hard 🙄
Like free speech people on Twitter you should have an opinion unless it is my opinion then I am correct
Exactly. She’s living a privileged life off of regular working class people’s taxes. I didn’t see any of evidence of giving in the video, just making money for herself to spend.

>_< I need ze translation

Also, I love how she immediately went into that victim mentality while HAVING ATTENDED NYU AND LIVING IN THE MOST EXPENSIVE CITY IN THE WORLD.
A CSA is where you pay for the season ahead of time, then pick up fresh produce every week or every other week depending on your plan. Usually around like $20-30/week for a lot of fresh local, often organic fruits and vegetables, so it's often a good deal. Her food spending seems totally reasonable ($215) even if she said she's splurging on higher quality ingredients or occasionally getting an iced coffee. I would just wonder how accurate that is if she doesn't keep a budget, and is possibly forgetting to add up little purchases.
The Paypal thing gives me major anxiety though because I know SO MANY people who have gotten banned from Paypal's platform for no real reason and without warning, then your money is just sitting in limbo for several months. What if that happened to her and an emergency came up in the meantime?
I think they go through people’s bank statements to do the budgets...

$10/mon on a $115k loan??? How is that even possible?
She said she's on some kind of community services repayment plan. According to the pie chart, she pays $60/month on her loans, which is still ridiculously low, but I think it's going to bite her in the @$$. This payment plan became available a little over 10 years ago, and many of the first people who "qualified" through the full 10 years are receiving letters stating that they no longer qualify for loan forgiveness. Even if she does benefit from this repayment plan, she'll still need to pay income tax on any remaining balance the year they are forgiven...
Probably income based and because of the field she works in.
Reminds me of the dude who plays $30/month on a $190k loan and is prepared to do that for the rest of his life.
Yeah I don't actually understand this, you would never finish paying it for the rest of your life at that rate.
@@gibsmuzik8276 That’s the whole point. They don’t want to pay back the entire loan, just the minimum little payments haha 🤷♀️
She needs to realize that that $110k, 10 years from now, with the additional interest, is going to be $140k. When it's discharged, it'll be conisdered a $140k gain. So, she better be ready to pay about $50k in taxes.

Her point of view of equity v. equality is coming from a social science perspective. It's rooted in fairness. Getting my MBA after working in public policy, I've actually had to wrap my mind around the different definitions of the term 'equity.'
I thought the exact same thing: " it should be about equity not equality," wtf are you talking about millennial.
As a chemistry PhD student, I will say I'm making an amazing return on investing 5 years of my life. I'll get over 6 figures starting salary while I make about $32k a year as a grad student at a good university. It all depends on what you study and if you can get it for free or not.
Equity is giving everyone what they need to be successful. Equality is treating everyone the same.
Equality aims to promote fairness, but it can only work if everyone starts from the same place and needs the same help. Equity appears unfair, but it actively moves everyone closer to success by “leveling the playing field.”

That first comment she made, that you think makes no sense is terrifying. Let me explain it to you:
Equality: You and I both have equal opportunity but not equal outcome. So if you make better choices than me and become richer, good on you.
Equity: You and I have the same outcome. So if you make better choices and become richer than me, the money has to be redistributed to assure we are equal.
This is a major issue in modern society where people demand equity over equality, usually arising in matters finance, race, and etc. In that it's not about giving people equal opportunity, it's demanding equal outcome regardless of effort. It's a dangerous ideology that is all too common with people like her who are clueless.
She works with inmates who have possibly committed heinous acts... Yet she wants this. Wtf?

@@lwolf101 Saying it about anything makes the same amount of sense as saying it about money. It's a fiction where we assume everything is magically successful instead of requiring work, effort, and skill. Yes, luck helps, but it's by no means the end all be all.

Your reaction to her saying she used PayPal for savings surprised me because I thought that was a good idea but I also didn't know about high-interest savings accounts...THANKS!
A CSA is a community agricultural club where you get food delivered to you weekly. She's not storing veg for that long, she gets them delivered each week for 26 weeks.
watches 55k a year on LA, sees video uploaded 12 minutes ago... OH YELL YEAH
Graham, I watch your videos religiously. You've helped me so much to identify some of the areas i have been failing miserably at in my financial life. After recently acquiring my first "career" job where i make "real" money, your videos have helped me to rethink my lifestyle, desires, goals, spending habits, savings, etc, etc. I am also struggling with debt tremendously this year after several poor financial decisions that have been an uphill climb to address before destroying my credit (which has been a 5 year struggle to rebuild from sub 450 with a 30-40k/year income). After turning to your videos, and obtaining my new job, I have managed to pay down nearly $10,000 in overdue bills, personal loans, and credit card debt over the past several months. Thank you for making your content! You have changed my entire outlook on life as it pertains to finances and spending habits.

Actually for a lot of us in healthcare (social work, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech-language pathology, clinical psychology) we are required to get advanced degrees in order to work in our fields. You would be surprised how many of the health professionals you meet are over 50k in debt for their degrees even if they attended state/ lower-cost public universities.
HELL YES IM IN THE VIDEO! @15:40 I had a dream last night that this was gonna happen

I used your Robinhood link and my free stock was SiriusXM, which was cool because I listen to Sirius every day. Then I shared with friends and have three more free stocks already. Thanks for sharing!
