I'm glad he got something really nice that speaks to him instead of falling for the excessive frugality trap. I've known a few hyper-frugal people who got millions and still denied themselves what they wanted in the name of money. As an example I knew a guy with five figure net monthly cashflow after personal expenses who wouldn't buy his dream home because it was "overpriced" at $440k, and was still torn up by missing out on it years later (but still refused to give an offer that high). I'm glad that the twenty cent iced coffee style stuff seems to be mostly a marketing gimmick and lifestyle choice than an actual clinical, psychological issue.
Also, holy crap, he's going to have to budget for a groundskeeper!

@Fuert Neigt I dont mean to attack you, but I think you shouldn't put negativity out in the world just because someone else is more lucky/fortunate than you (I don't even think that, being a youtuber is way more work / riskier than you think). I just say it because in the end the only one who will suffer negative feelings in the longterm from this is yourself. The way you write I can see you're a good guy, but don't let the negativity tear you down! Work on getting a confident and positive mindset about yourself, independant from others. 💪

    • @boholaesthetic3416
      @boholaesthetic3416 4 года назад +3

@Fuert Neigt being a youtuber is not easy, there is so many things to do and be good at before you make money from youtube and even harder if you want to make big money, some of those are of the following
1.) Planning for videos for content:
      >Good script or story
      > Creative and unique
      > Full of information while being funny at the same time
      > Takes time
      2.) Actual video
      > Good editing skills or editor
      > Place to shoot
      > Takes time to edit
3.) For the RUclipsr, you need to be:
      > Charismatic
      > Disiplined
      > Can handle lots of pressure, worry
      > Smart
      > Risk taker
      > Patience
      > Willing to do whatever it takes
      > Luck
There is more but that is currently what i know, In my limited mind.
And i know there are some bad youtuber those that decieve other people, lier, etc, so i do get what you mean, i just wrote this just in case if there are some that you did not know, sorry if i hurt you in any ways.

    • @brennern6794

As an electrician I dont think 80$ is a rip off, remember to put up the light depending on what kind of connections it uses and how the bracket is built it might take anywhere from 15 min to 1 hour to do it, and you also need to drive to the place to do the work, witch also takes time, and they need to get paid for that time, I don't know the laws in America and I'm from Norway and also working in Norway. But after every I install we have to do alot if paper work to dokument that what we have done is done correctly, if you do not do this here u can get alot of trouble with the insurance company if something where to happen. Again this is from a Norwegian mindset with the laws here in mind, but it would not surprise me if it where similar in America

Thanks for sharing, Graham. Lots to love about the house. Love the old spanish look as well. Wish I could have seen more of the outside of the actual house/roof etc., but I loved the living room, the dining room, the window off the dining room, the serving access from the kitchen ... and i hate narrow kitchens, but I think your kitchen was much wider than it looked on camera ... and I actually like the aquamarine color. Didn't care for the narrow hallways, but the master bedroom was gorgeous, with that beautiful private bathroom (which I personally would not change). Great patios, backyard, gardens, privacy etc. Oh, and I agree that the breakfast nook definately needs work ... I would say the tile has to go. Put in a nice wood floor with the wider slats, paint the walls with that mexican fleshy orange color (forget what it's called), which would complement the kitchen, and maybe put in some better looking windows with nice wood molding, and perhaps some built in seating like you did in the dining room ... for a nice little coffee room for relaxing in the morning. Or you could axe the windows, and just make a nice food pantry off the kitchen ... buying in bulk to save some cash :) Anyway, love thinking about renovations :)

@BearGuap He could, but I doubt he'd be able make a profit on his $7700 monthly housing costs. The real estate price to rent ratio is really high in Southern CA, which means renting is generally more affordable than buying. His housing costs will remain fairly stable over the years, while rents and the price of real estate fluctuate. I suspect both rents and real estate costs will drop very soon, and prices won't catch up to our current level for a very long time.

@@jzen1455 If i were to rent everything out, I'd profit about $3500/mo in net cashflow + about $2150'ish mortgage equity. That required me to put a lot of money down, but rents in this area are and have been incredibly stable and my cost is fixed. A good school distract also goes a long way here.

I applaud your good taste and admiration for antique houses. I believe in buying older, charming houses because they deserve a chance too and have more soul than newer houses. Good choice.
