I bought the Clionadh nail polish advent calendar which arrived today. I swatched the whole thing immediately! It’s soooo beautiful. I couldn’t help myself!
I sometimes really love a more subtle holo. I find that it works better when I want to layer a topper over it. It's like a nice balance of holo and some other topper. I still have 1 bottle of Snowflake Syrup from Enchanted Polish and I savor it. I think it would go really well with some of these subtle shades. I haven't yet tried I Scream Nails. Ive been definitely tempted with the ice cream bottle.
WOW this is a rather spectacular holo party collection! Blowout and Boujee were my favorites. I like how the greens look to be nice colors for any time, and Boujee would be a fun polish to wear.
I just couldn't get enough of those brushes , the color collection was just a bonus . I'm not a brush snob I just need a brush that is not a user snob . These look very user friendly .
This seems like a perfect set for every season! The dark green and red are perfect for Christmas, the lighter shades are good spring/summer shades and a few that would work for anytime! Would make a great gift for anyone just getting into sets! Or a great gift to myself! 😁😂
My husband loves creating an Advent calendar for me. This year he is creating one with kcups, chocolates, dies for paper craft, and I think stickers. He's having a ton of fun! I highly recommend Ryan throwing one together for you. You'll both enjoy it!!

I couldn't find a good decaf option for coffee or tea for myself so I ended up buying a variety pack and I'm going to make Ryan make an advent calendar for me 😂 I've found a couple good crystal options but I'm hesitating because they're so pricey, let me know if you find any irresistible ones 👀

This collection isn’t for me overall but I like the brighter colors on the right in the collective photo. I just ordered the rogue lacquer advent calendar. I had a bad experience with a makeup brand mystery box so I don’t buy mystery things but I figured their advent should be nice and I know I’m getting 6 nail polishes so I’ll get use out of it
Linear holos are my jam and I have been hunting for a true red one. This brand has one but I hate the cone lids & I got a mislabeled orange twice so I gave up. Maybe I'll gamble on a few other indie options on black Friday.
The colors are so beautiful. I actually don’t mind that the linear holos aren’t as defined. I actually prefer scattered holos anyway. Definitely going on my wishlist 😊💗

It wasn’t too cheap, but i saw one at world market that was tall, but shallow and it had rows of lil wooden houses that pulled out as a drawer. It is reusable and you can put all kinds of little things in it. Really cute!

The first 6 are my favorites. I love those. I haven't tried the plus line. I do have several from their regular line. I have noticed that red just doesn't show holo as well as other colors. I need to Google that to figure out why. I also bought the Orly bonder base coat, and oh my goodness!! It's amazing!! I'll never use a different one.

We have a wall calendar with small pockets, and my partner usually fills it with small christmassy things candies, ornaments etc Last year we've got another one and ordered a package of japanese snacks from amazon. I randomly put them in, and my partner put the numbers, so neither of us knew what it's gonna be, it was so much fun that we are doing it again this year! I'm also looking for a jam calendar like the one you've got last year, I love weird jams so it can be fun 🤩We also got coffee from local roasters, tea and chocolate advent calendars just because this is something we love. And some nail polish as well. I guess we are going big on advent calendars, haha🙈

the teal and the dark green…i have teals. i have dark greens. i even think i’ve found the perfect ones…and then these pop up. do i need them? are they more perfect? it’s so hard to tell, but i’m 100% going to look up more swatches now. the only advent calendars i get are the Trader Joe’s chocolate one - one for my 4yo and one for me this year, and then the doggie treat one to have her included.
Throwdown looks warm to me. Maybe the lighting? How does it look to your eyes? Scarlet is a term sometimes used to say a red is on the warm side. I know you have some experience with color, so you probably already knew that.
Definitely a very warm red! But the cool thing about deep reds like that is they really intensify the blue shine in the holo pigment, that's what I was trying to say haha 😅

Those greeeeeeeennnnnsssss!!! Holo Taco has been my go to for holo polishes for a little while now, but these are cute. That cirque advent calendar was super cute. The only one i get every year is the star wars lego advent calendar 😅😅😅
Would you be able to do a comparison of their different green holos? I recently bought 5 of their ones in the standard icecream bottles and am wondering how close these are to those other shades. They almost look like they might slot in between the other shades, but could also just be "long wear" formulations of colours already in the regular range so I wouldn't need dupes. I already got 14 days wear out of the regular polish line they claim to last only 7 days so certainly don't need it for longevity reasons.

Ooh I bet you'd love the A England holos then, they're not exactly subtle BUT they almost have a pastel rainbow instead of a regular rainbow if that makes sense? Something about that gives them a really lovely softness!

I ran into that problem with the Walker's Shortbread calendar! Sampler of the same cookies was less than half the price. I got a yarn advent calendar again this year, now i just need to decide what I want to make with it. LOL
I have had a couple of Lego advent calendars, which are really fun (but again, expensive). I started making my own jigsaw puzzle advent calendars for my nieces and nephews out of large puzzles that they wouldn't be able to do themselves in one go, like 500-1500 pieces, depending on their age. I sewed pouches for each day... it took a bit of work, but was a LOT cheaper than buying a pre-made advent calendar! Definitely get someone else to assemble one for you lol!
Love the purples and that deep red. I recently tried Bloodline from I Scream, which should also be a linear holo but I barely had any sparkle -- definitely no linear holo. It could have been the qdtc I used? Is that a thing?
Top coat shouldn't affect the holo pigment, but I do think it's an overall issue with red polishes - they seem to overwhelm the holo. I find that mine looks holographic in the sense that the shimmer shifts, but it's not the typical rainbow line of holo that I'm used to, it's more of a deep blue sparkle at certain angles!
Ok that's it! It's time for a serious pep talk with my nails. I had to cut them all down because they betrayed me by cracking and splitting badly. I need them to grow because I miss painting my nails! 😂😂😂

Ooh that's a good question. I've been meaning to do an updated favorite holos video, maybe I should do that soon lol! But offhand I think the regular I Scream Nails line has incredible linear holos, Cirque Subculture is probably my most holographic silver polish, Painted Polish makes gorgeous scattered holo glitter crellies, and A England makes some really gorgeous soft holos that have an almost pastel rainbow to them!
+kellimarissa *I noticed that I SCREAM NAILSⓇ PLUSᵀᴹ has a wide flat brush with rounded tip.* Convenience for giving a wife or girlfriend a nail paint.
I think ISN would do better to use your swatches than some of the overly edited photos of press-ons they tend to post. It's really hard to tell if the polish is good or not when they do that tbh.
Yeah I really appreciate that they made a collection with a more subtle sparkle, because most brands tend to try to make everything as holographic as possible and that's not always what I'm in the mood for haha!

I find that mine looks holographic in the sense that the shimmer shifts, but it's not the typical rainbow line of holo that I'm used to, it's more of a deep blue sparkle at certain angles!
Ok that's it! It's time for a serious pep talk with my nails. I had to cut them all down because they betrayed me by cracking and splitting badly. I need them to grow because I miss painting my nails! 😂😂😂

I'd say the regular I Scream Nails line has more similar colors to Holo Taco!

Ooooh the dark red and green are really speaking to me. I much prefer these bottles to the ice cream cones - they're cute but I just feel like my clumsy ass would have such a hard time with them😅

Hey Kelli! I want to put the most holo of all holo polishes in an array of colors on my Christmas list this year. I was hoping these would be it but I’m looking for something with lots more holo than these. What polishes would you say have the strongest holo that are out right now? Thanks!
Ooh that's a good question. I've been meaning to do an updated favorite holos video, maybe I should do that soon lol! But offhand I think the regular I Scream Nails line has incredible linear holos, Cirque Subculture is probably my most holographic silver polish, Painted Polish makes gorgeous scattered holo glitter crellies, and A England makes some really gorgeous soft holos that have an almost pastel rainbow to them!

Scattered holo is my favorite type of holo tbh! I just like the randomness of it haha!

Honestly I'd say these are less holographic, but the base colors are pretty much the same!

I think ISN would do better to use your swatches than some of the overly edited photos of press-ons they tend to post. It's really hard to tell if the polish is good or not when they do that tbh.

In all honesty I do not like a holo that over shines the base color, so this collection is a lot more to my preferences. 😉
Yeah I really appreciate that they made a collection with a more subtle sparkle, because most brands tend to try to make everything as holographic as possible and that's not always what I'm in the mood for haha!
