Colonel Foster I have finally acquired a copy of the hard bound book and must say it is very special. The publishing quality is awesome. The history, color, and details are top notch. My father served for 20 years in the Air Force; it gives me great pride to review and remember the accomplishments of those who serve. I am putting a display case together and the information and ideas for display have been very helpful. I highly recommend this book to everyone wanting help with military awards history, superb.

Is the oak leaf cluster device worn on the full size medal for USAF the same size as worn on the ribbon bar (5/16)?
And am I correct in thinking that they are mounted vertically and not horizontally?

I have this book, and it is very interesting. Could I also ask a couple of questions? Which NASA medals have been awarded to air force personnel? And, which pre WW1 medals have been awarded to flyers? Billy Mitchell earned some (as noted in your book) but could there any other pre ww1 medals that are relevant? Thank you.

The Call of Duty has a great section on NASA medals awarded to USAF personnel. Other than the Mexican Service Medal (1916) I do not know of any other pre WW I medals awarded Army Air Service Personnel.

There are many websites that will tell you, unless you have something quite rare.

Yes medals of American has a staff of veterans and ladies that specializes in mounting medals in correct order. Actually you can go to their web site www.Usmedals.com and design your case on line.😊
