what a fantastic frontman roger is.
One day there'll be a time machine, and we'll be able to go back and tell directors/cameramen that, when filming The Who, close ups of The Singer, just don't cut it - it's The Who, we need to see all four, all the time! Apparently, there's a bass player on stage as well !!
One day they’ll be a time machine and I’ll use it to go back make sure all the great bands, and all their material, is recorded in film. All the film records still look amazing, and all the digital ones show their age greatly. Some of them look downright terrible.
One day there'll be a time machine, and we'll be able to see the Who in all their glory: Pete, John, Roger and Keith..!
the way Roger Daltrey played with his microphone is still far better than todays musicians all dancing and singing
I bet he went through a lot of mike cables. 😂
Saw them in ‘81 with The Clash and Joe Jackson. Couldn’t hear for 2 days!!😎🤪🇨🇦
Silver dome. Lucky. 2. Get. Out. Alive
I saw them also at the Silverdome , The Clash were booed annd pelted w/beer can and bottles. Didn’t make it thru 1 song!!! The opening act was Eddie Money not Joe Jackson. Could not hear for a hot little minute
Roger turns 75 this year, and, aside from having gray hair, he still looks like he does here.
I was at this concert. I was amazed! They still had it! although Keith was no longer with them, wow. what a concert!!!!!
Yeah, me too.
I was able to jump on the field and wounded up right in front of the stage. When they walked on stage they looked like 4 white dressed gods.
I was too! I was a vendor, selling these crappy, ill-fitting T-shirts for beaucoup bucks. Went onto the field and got lost in a haze of mary jane smoke, LOL.
will maybe you were they playd 3 nights cant tell what night this is from
I love the Who and their music; but I really hate those kind of videos that pay no attention to the bass players. John Entwistle was the solid ground for the hits and all the songs of the Who; and he does not even appear in this film. Bame it to the cameraman!
Well blame it on the director.
thats also my feeling about it, bro.
very well stated - and i wholeheartedly agree. Some of these directors , ( fortunately a minority , seem to have no idea. Live concert scenario - the lead guitarist starts a solo and the director cuts to a bloody wide shot if the stage,!If we're lucky they cut back to the solo about 10 secs before it ends.
didnt sign the waver
They didn't even have the decency to include him in the wide shot, fucking disrespectful
Saw them in Orlando in 82.Best concert I've ever seen
They know how to play stadium's!!!.
My favorite song of The Who in a great live performance.
держи в курсе)
The Real Me is an equally great one, different but strangely similar and just as good!
I had no idea that The Who was only a trio
Other beings must be shittin where they've watching our talent. This is epic.
Simply iconic.
Pete has that Clash look going on.
Haha..
A great song from an album that each song is great! Just perfect!!
This bands energy in their Heyday was unmatched by no other. Their stage presence and their energy on stage were just awesome👍💯🎸🎤!!!!!
I was 13 years old my first concert was The Clash and The Who at Shea Stadium Oct 12. Which has seem to go down in Rock n Roll folklore .And I have remembered every minute of that show .( But I cant remember what I had for dinner last night :) I was 3 rows back to the right of him
Saw the WHO at the Tangerine Bowl, Orlando, FL, during the summer of '80. Their performance was well worth being rained on by bath water, while the temperature remained 85+.
One of many farewell concert circuits.
B 52s got pelted with shoes and bottles
Best. Version
Historic... One of life's most memorable moments. Reason to Rock n Roll forever!!!!!
awesome
This track, comes from the who's next album. My personal favourite. Around this time all the original 4 including Moonie were each and everyone at the top/summit of their musical game. A super top/ brilliant band👏👏👏🎤🎸🥁🎸
beautiful song
My memory with heart
Cant wait for this DVD!!!!
i saw this tour at the la Colosseum played with the clash.
up until this concert i thought t\The Who was an ok band .
my opinion changed after seeing them live to top 5 ever.
what you cant tell from this video is how powerful rogers voice was at this time.
i had never seen another singer who was so on point perfect pitch sounding just like the album. the second he opened his mouth it sent chills up and down my spine and cut right through me. he could have filled the stadium with out a mic
+XxmattitudexX I was just about to say something similar, it has a rough edge in places but i like that , I really think he was at the top of his game through this period.
been listening to you since being a kid love your videos and your music.
Great song allway's good to hear !!!!
От малък си я Обичам тази песен-Трепач.
Great quality upload, it's great to see a video of that period in such a great quality
Love it!
MARAVILLOSO!!!!
I hear this band has a pretty good bassist, damn shame they never show him.
Stunning performance💥🤟
Not one close-up of the Ox! Bloody 'ell!
Eu 70 Anos Rockeiro até morrer é nóis é Rock Woodstock paz e amor
Very best the who
Mighty who
Takes me back to December 03, 1982 at the astrodome in Houston tx the final hoorah opening groups still breeze and Billy Squier killer concert.
Wonderful
When you see The Clash video for 'Should I stay or should I go' it was taken from this show. David Johansen , The Clash and The Who all on one bill would have been something to see. It's sad we've lost Joe Strummer and John , not to mention Shea stadium.
Paul Evans I wish we had the full video footage for the clash , unfortunately they are keeping it locked away too increase profits for when the finally do release it , hopefully 2022
Never was a who fan 1978,got free ticket if i drove GREATEST concert I ever saw……. Hit of blotter didn’t hurt🥴🥴
I was there The Clash was the warm up. The 2 most powerful bands ever.
Musikgeschichte, in den 70er gabe es wirklich noch Bands die Musikgeschichte schrieben. Heute nach 50 Jahren noch super.
Phoenix '82. Great show!
Esse Som Lembra as Noite da Antiga TOCO! Onde Curti Muito a Década de 80´s

The days!
Yeaaa
Kenny Jones was a great drummer in his own right. Very underrated and dissed by the the 3 guys when they reunited
+GaryL1966 But so so far removed from moons style, it was never going to work
In Roger Daltreys book he talks about kenny jones being a good drummer he was just a crap drummer for the who like how keith moon would be a crap drummer for the faces or whatever the band kenny was in was called
But he truly wasn't good for The Who. He doesn't fit Moon's style. Current drummer and Ringo's son: Zakk Starkey comes the closest!!
@@As_in_gamer moon would be a crap drummer for anyone really as he was terrible live
@@jerseysucks6158 look out for live versions from 1989. Simon Phillips absolutely nails it!!!
Rock é o ritmo que as pessoas jamais perdem o espírito jovem
Love the song , but the microphone tossing was impressive !!
A tad overdone.
The Who ❤
No Moon the Loon - Had to be after 1978 as I saw the Farewell to Keith Moon tour on the east coast.
Oh que c'est bon chason triste magnifique
Shea Stadium '82 ??? The Clash play the first part !!!!! :D
❤️
I like the original 1971 version better, but this is still 👍
Behind Blue Eyes ............
Nada se compara a juventude...
Viva The Who!?✌🏼😷✌🏼
Roger sounds like he's got a sore throat, and you almost can't see Entwistle at all! (even though he seems to be singing harmonies)
You're absolutely right concerning Entwistle! Stupid camera
@@Berniewahlbrinck more accurately the director and/or the editor combining the shots. They must have not been Who fans.
It is a true story I was there & the clash was backup as if needed
👍👍👍❤️
Gratidão Universo YAWH Yashua pela minha Internet, que me proporciona todas essas maravilhas .⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🎹🎸🎻🎷🎺🌏
No one swings a mike like Daltry.
💖💖FUCK YEAH 💖💖
Did John Entwistle not play in this band???? Why the fUck is the camera never on him?? Absolutely disgusting, good song though!
😀😄😃☺
Drummer f'd that up big time.
Roger is going to take someone's eye out with that mic....
I see The Who didn't manage to escape the black hole of fashion culture that was the 1980s.
Even when Pete wasn't "on" and Rabbit wasn't the in the house, the post-Moon who could still play quite solidly.
Like 2 seconds of entwistle. Fuck.
👏👏👏👏👏
🇧🇷🌴🍷😎
the video and sound are great but…. did Eagle Rock mix the audience noise right out of this? I can't hear any crowd noise. It's a concert. There should be noise from the audience.
STEVE HEROLD the audience are audible, though faint.
So much tighter with Jones on drums
Like that Song, to bad that Roger singing not all Notes perfect. Saw The Who several Times. I Always enjoy there Show.
I'm kind of a "metal" guy but by god...
Pete Townsend is the man we should be wurshupin at !
I'm sure he'd hate that, but from people who respect him for the right reasons ,,,,, maybe not :)
How old is roger here?
He's 38.
Фонарь
How bout the sad girl behind these eyes? Pam
А кто,если не они ;)
Who plays drums here?
Typo my love is vengeance that you will see! Psmala
How come i miss the thumping n rolling drum beats of Keith moon .is he ain't here ???!!
Great--but Kenny Jones just couldn't play like Keith Moon.
I was at this concert; it wasn't very good.
The Clash were even worse !
29 death people
I have brown and blue circles around my eyes and pink in them. Go figure? Pamala. My love is vrngrnce that you will see !
Pamala Brock I take it you sing this to yourself?
