For curvy figures, try Gloria Vanderbilt jeans. She's the only brand I can find that doesn't gape at the waist. I hate when the hips fit, but the waist is huge!
Beth....just wanted to also mention that those on a fixed income or have limited income especially due to this covid virus.....please remember that the Goodwill, thift stores, cosignment shops have great jeans, sweathers, boots , handbags, etc.... And don't forget about sales, sales, sales!.....This allows us women to still feel great and stylish.......and not lose ourselves.....keeping our routine....especially during this PANDEMIC....
Angela Lewis all my blue jeans came from the thrift shops and they are in stellar condition! I totally agree with you! I love looking fabulous and stylish!
I'm always looking for brand name jeans at thrift stores and I find them. I found the most beautiful silk blouse at thrift and I will always love it ($1.50).
I find the best jeans at thrift stores. They have a wonderful selection and have already been broken in. I can't remember the last time that I bought a pair of jeans anywhere else. I have every imaginable style, too.
The skinny jeans and the boot cut hands down were the best look on you! I'm no Cindy Crawford, but I never stopped wearing bootcut jeans. Thanks for modeling all sides so we got the whole px.
Thank you so much for sharing all these tips, especially for taking the time to add all the details in the section below the screen. That helps a lot when someone is keen to get certain items
Thanks for the very informative video. Now I understand what those catalog descriptions are talking about (boyfriend, skinny, bootcut). The rise & inseam explanations were also helpful. The “neck” tip will save time during the try on process at the store. The fabric care was very helpful. Again, thanks for the split screen & turning around during modeling.
I wash my jeans and air dry them until they are almost dry. Then I throw them in the dryer for 10 to15 minutes to remove any wrinkles .This works great without shrinking my jeans.
Love your tips and your haircut, Beth! My jeans fave is Land's End. I'm now 80 and have worn them since my 40's, they still look terrific. A bit more pricey than Walmart, but definitely worth it!
Beth.....Blue jeans and other jeans/clothing can be refresh using frebreeze fabric spray.....also comforters and blankets......Great for in-between washing....also lysol spray or microban spray
Loved every pair you showed. I also have all 5 pairs. My favorite however are the straight leg and the boot cut. I feel tall and very lean in those styles.
Enjoyed the video Beth. For myself I would add a pair of pull on jeans (Talbots has my favorites) and a pair of high waisted jeans. Being 5’2” I forgo the wide leg jeans, I feel overwhelmed in them. I also turn mine inside out when laundering and never throw them in the dryer!
I been really pleased with most of my H&M jeans, too. The low prices have helped clothe me during several size changes, without spending too much. After losing 35 lbs. in 2019, I then got COVID-20 (lbs.)! Wildfires and broken toes have grounded me further this Autumn, I can’t wait to wear real shoes again, instead of a surgical boot! You have some really great footwear styles in this video, Beth, well, really in all your looks!💕
I love your channel. I'm 46 years old and love fashion channels. I think your channel is definitely in my top 5. Your have so much information to offer. Thanks for sharing.
I am not a blue jeans kind of person, I like black and white jeans, however when it comes to blue jeans i do like the boyfriend and the boot cut. I do appreciate the information especially about the pockets and the stretch to cotton ratio.
Beth - You have such style and class and your fashion tips are excellent - If a woman has a sense of style and keeps it simple she does not have to spend a fortune on her clothes - She just has to know what looks classy and what looks good on her - Less is always best especially as we age - I love your hair!
Morning Beth. Thank you for sharing all your fashion expertise! Is there any way you could add some "do not's" or "how to's" to your videos? For instance: If your large chested... If your thicker around the middle.... I guess mostly a word or two about proper fit. I am quite blessed up top and would love to incorporate blazers into my wardrobe but am not sure what the fit should look like. Anything that fits around my chest looks like a tent everywhere else. Does this mean blazers are not good for my body type? I believe all styles don't work for all body types and would love a little direction.
I sew, the art of a good blazer for us with a bust, is proper fitting, if it fits around the armhole and is darted or has a line from the shoulder down it should fit neatly over but without extra fabric. My bust on my fine frame can look like a Batchelor from Prague because of 5he extra fabric round chest and armhole
Hey Beth, I love all the style tips & how to care for my jeans! Put them in the freezer! Who knew 🤷♀️. I only wear bootcut jeans. I’m tall size 10 and I feel my thighs are too big. With a boot cut and booty I feel confident but my daughters tell me I should own skinny jeans. What do I do with my non skinny legs? I feel weird with my big thighs in skinny jeans 😩
I am a new subscriber and so happy to have found your channel. You are helping me dress my 64 year old body, but not Ina stuffy way! I still want to be chic, as a matter of fact, I look better now than ever! And I feel better too! Great video!

I mostly stopped using my tumble dryer a few years ago, I just hang everything, with much better results, increases longevity, a lot of energy savings and less overheating if my house. Exceptions: sheets, towels and socks and garments that I want to shrink, if I can’t hang them outdoors [this summer and fall it has just been too smoky here (San Francisco Bay Area)]. I am lucky because I have a laundry “room” (a walled-off section of the garage by the washer, dryer and utility sink), and I put in lots of racks, and a clothesline, to hang clothes. I also use a fan, which cuts the drying time to less than half, brings in fresh air and keeps the items moving, reducing wrinkling.
Great video! I agree with your top 5 styles of jeans for women over a certain age! I also tell my clients to measure their rise as this is key to finding great fitting jeans. So many people miss this vital piece of the jigsaw out! Pleased you showed Wit & Wisdom ! I will be checking you out again soon. Thank you, Sam -denim stylist.
A beautiful and very wonderful presentation. I wish success and progress in your wonderful work. Health and safety to you. My thanks, appreciation and respect.💕💜💕
We used to live in Levi 501 button-fly jeans. The Levi store on Union Square in SF used to have a soaking tub so you could choose your jeans, actually sit in a tub and soak, then stand in a dryer so the jeans would mold to your body.
Love ,Love Jeans , they have been part of my wardrobe ever since I was 13or 14 years old ! Back when a pair of Levi’s only cost $ 5.00 a pair ! There weren’t any woman’s jeans ( Levi’s) in the 50s so we bought our jeans in the men’s clothing Department or “borrowed “ dads or brothers jeans 👖! Dresses were more the dress code for women and girls !
Hi Beth, I really enjoyed this video! What I want to know is whether or not a nice pair of (type?) jeans would be appropriate for my 40th High school Music Theater Reunion. And, if not, do you have a video on what to wear to a class reunion? Thanks you so much !☀️💗
Ha! My late father, who was in his 90’s would always try out pants as I was growing up by measuring then around his neck. I would be so embarrassed, little did I know.
Thx for the video. My favorites had been NYDJ, they were fitting like made by a tailor. But now they're made in Asia, not "proudly made in the US" anymore. They have got another shape, do not fit anymore. I wear some German made now. Greetings from northern Germany.
I agree on the NYDJ problem.. having been wearing for years when made in USA. I am long waisted and short legged and was thrilled with the fit. Don’t know what happened. Low rise, bad cuts, sizing all over the place. Designers are so desperate to make constant changes to their lines to keep current, but it leaves their customer base frustrated and confused...and onto the next brand. Chico’s used to also work for me, same problem.
@@annfridinger1307 just as you I'm long waisted and short legged. NYDJ were perfect, as long as they were made in the USA. Now made in Asia...I experienced that with other Lavels, too, they are made to fit another figure: broader hips and smaller waist. They get them made cheeper in Asia and sell them to the "old" prices all over the workd. To me it's greed.

I doubt very much if you can help me as I live in the UK.....all my height is in my body....I have 30" inside leg....it is no good buying the standard length and having them shortened ( OK with skinny ) but other styles one loses the style....I am sure there are manufacturers out there but I am struggling to find any....😕.....great tips....Jane.... North Wales UK ....
I Watched your video for the first time. Never knew there were so many options for jeans and how to find the right fit for me. I saved the video and will definitely refer to it when I purchase a new pair of jeans. Your Advice was terrific thank you🐣
Great video, I love the new wider leg and baggier styles, but I realize many other women will never even try them. It’s too bad, I think it’s mostly a matter of getting the eye used to them, rather than that they are inherently unflattering. Many of us die-hard skinnies gals refused to try them when they were new, too. I like how you, Beth, never get stuck in past styles, you keep your look classic and classy, but modern and relevant, too. One little suggestion about your measuring guide image, feet should be together for the most accurate measurements.💕
I used a light blue jeans once, to a medical seminar.. With white wedges like 5-7cm.. And the top was also a light blue blouse.. So it wouldn't be too casual, I layered with a white jacket, unbuttoned.. And to top it off, a classic Chanel handbag.. Not the small size..the one that can fit a long notebook.. The straps were like gold color chains..and the bag itself was the classic 'cushion' thing..
Beautiful! Thank you! You look great in all your jeans! Thanks for the tips! You r so right! I never throw mine in the dryer! They look brand new! Some r 15 yrs old!!! 😂 lol
I have never heard of the neck tip. Wow! Great advice. I will try out the Sofia Vergara jeans. Some jeans are so ridiculously high in price, that I can't justify it. You have such good common sense. I really enjoy your videos!
That's a new one to me. I also so here on YT that you can use your forearm lengthwise at the waist and that gives you a hit too. I haven't tried either of these but I'm thinking there is a tipping point for a curvier woman that her waist isn't going to match her neck size.
I stay away from skinny jeans and do a bootcut instead. Up until my late 40's I had a 34" waist but now have 36" waist, skinny jeans emphasize the hips and make them look wider so I avoid them. I also modify some of my boot cut to make them more of a skinny jean at the bottom but not as skinny as real skinny jeans. Those I wear with flats and the unmodified with heels. I always wear dark or black jeans too. I incorporate new trends, colors into my outfits but mostly thru accessories, blouse, & colors. Your tips help, I like to be somewhere in the last decade but do not have to grab every trend that comes along--lol
Absolutely well presented jeans styles! I also liked your encouragement to wear several shapes. Thanks a lot. Btw your hair looks great! Greetings from Germany
Hi, Beth: I just found your channel and I'm so glad I did. I just retired and was contemplating getting rid of some of my clothes since I really don't need to get "dressed up" anymore!!! But, for those occasions when I do, I still need to keep my pieces that I can re-work into my "retired" wardrobe. I'm so glad I didn't get rid of my clothes. I found you just in time. As far as jeans go, I line dry a lot of clothes as well. To get the wrinkles out, I iron my jeans with a crease down the center. Over time, the color has worn out and I now have a faded line down the center of my jeans. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem, or do I need to get rid of them?
Great video & topic, although you didn’t mention waist (rise) hight too much, it seems everyones obsessed with high waisted, but as a petite person they hit me in the ribs. So I tend to go for at belly button waist (which fits me at my waist) & below as long as they aren’t very low. This lower rise gives the wide leg pants a different look if they are lower as well as the boyfriend. ❤️🙏🏽
high rise or mom jeans are definitely in at the moment. but i'm happy to see there are lots of choices these days with styles and rises. makes it easier to find the jeans we love best.
For curvy figures, try Gloria Vanderbilt jeans. She's the only brand I can find that doesn't gape at the waist. I hate when the hips fit, but the waist is huge!

I'm always looking for brand name jeans at thrift stores and I find them. I found the most beautiful silk blouse at thrift and I will always love it ($1.50).
I have given many many Talbots and Saks classic cloths to thrift stores. Now that I am retired, I now shop there as well. eBay is a great source too
Definitely loved all those jeans. My favorite was banana Republic skinny jeans those two my favorite. Thanks for sharing Beth keep it up good work...

Nice, how you model the jeans, front and back
I been washing my jeans in cold water since my 20’s and line drying
That’s a little trick I use also by putting my pants around my neck & it seems to be a good way to find jeans
Me and Cindy Crawford. Ive been styling boot cut jeans since after bell bottoms in high school. The most flattering i think.

Levi’s are great if you have a flatter shape bottom.
You can use white vinager in the washing machine for bad odors!! It will protect the color too!!
Use in the rinse cycle, it removes any soap/detergent residue as well.

Wide leg Jean🙋🏾♀️❤️❤️❤️👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
You look gorgeous in that olive green sweater! So lovely with your skin tone. 😘
Oh thank you!
I enjoy your viedos. Great tips, thanks for sharing.
I’ve been doing the pants around the neck thing for years! It has been foolproof! :)
That's a new one to me. I also so here on YT that you can use your forearm lengthwise at the waist and that gives you a hit too. I haven't tried either of these but I'm thinking there is a tipping point for a curvier woman that her waist isn't going to match her neck size.
@@myozbubble Cool! I hadn’t heard of that one...you just gave me a “reason” to buy some new pants! Lol 😉
Love you in the bootcut jeans!
I’m so glad I found you! Thanks
Welcome!
.
Thanks for the tips Beth!
You are so welcome!
Thank you so much!
Fun and informative Beth-Thx so much!
Glad you enjoyed it!
