I have to say I’m not a fan of heels, but I bought a pair of heels after I watched your video. Yesterday I was thinking going to grocery store to buy something and that was the first time I wear heels(Of course I used your outfit tips). And the most amazing thing is, a guy I met at the store said “ I like your outfit. You look great”. I’m so happy and thank you for sharing those wonderful tips and hacks with us!
Thank you for the tips but it may be more helpful to see the difference on someone with more weight (aka thick) so we can see how it really makes a difference. You are slim and look slim in whatever you wear.
I know what you mean. Also, the belt looked great on her but anyone with a bit of tummy should ditch belts altogether. Also, I'm not sure I agree with block colours making you look slimmer. Taller perhaps, yes, but with nothing to break up the width, one colour is going to make you look wider. But there are some good tips there anyone can follow irrespective of size.
How about when you wear a belt around the waist, pull the top or dress out a little so it just sits out over the belt a little. This will give the illusion of more shape around your waist! :)
When I watch a style video , I don't expect everything stated by the narrator to apply to me. I am 5'8" and wear petite as I am short waisted - a full 2 inches short in the torso. Because I am short waisted, I cannot wear a cinched waist. So I know if a suggestion is not for my body type I don't use the suggestion. Like most style videos, she is speaking to a general audience of varrying body types.
I'm so glad for influencers such as yourself. I just turned 60 and I believe in watching my weight and looking stylish. So many women my age give up and then constantly complain about how they look. You have to make an effort to stay slim and current.
Well, you don't just look taller in high heels, you ARE taller. At 5'9" I never wear heels and my feet are in sooooo much better shape than my friends who have worn heels and pointed toes all their life!
I agree. I wore spike heels pointed toes for years and now my feet are in bad shape. I think that for the most part people see beyond your outer appearance and see the warmth and love in your heart.

Just my opinion, but high waist jeans do not do any favors for the rear end. They tend to give most people a serious case of "long butt". Super low waisted ones give a chopped off butt look. I think a just-below-the-navel mid-rise is most complimentary 'coming & going'.
Suzanne Melton depends on if you are high waisted or long waisted. I’m long waisted, so this is perfect for me. My BFF is short waisted and high waisted jeans are NOT her friend.

Erin, I know you have given us some of these tips along the way and I am so grateful for them. I am glad you made this dedicated video about how to look slimmer. I know that having these tips and using them really does make me feel immensely better when I walk out the door. So, thanks for all the great content you give us!
Thank you for the amazing tips; it’s much appreciated. I’m normally a size 8-10 & since I’m 5’9 my weight is concealed & spread more easily😘. However, I’ve recently gained weight due to some health issues. I didn’t realize how much my weight & appearance have an affect on my self-esteem. I wasn’t raised that way. I feel so unlike “me.” Thank you for your time, tips & videos. It’s very helpful. ❤️
Hi! I love your videos!! I do have a question that you probably don’t hear often….do you possibly have some tips to make the hips and butt look fuller? 5’4” and I struggle to stay no less then 125 lbs. Thank you in advance for your time and suggestions.
Thank you so much, Tamara! Try looking for a pair of jeans with smaller pockets that are a bit wider on the bottom. That will create the illusion of a fuller butt. You can also try using the half-tuck. Leaving the back out will also help add some fullness in the back. xo
@@BusbeeStyle Thank you so much for your insight!! I’m so glad I scrolled through RUclips notifications! I honestly didn’t expect a response. Thank you again!!!
Erin, I’m your height and weight but I’m short wasted. Belting anything makes me look out of proportion. I’d be thrilled if you did a video on how to deal with a shorter torso.
Follow Trinny on instagram. She is short-waisted but does have a waist. But her style is far more flamboyant then Erin's so a mix of ideas might work for you.
Great tips but some of these tips may not be the best for certain body types and heights. You appear to be on the shorter side with a more banana/rectangle body shape. That being said some of these tips may not be the best for more curvy women. Still this a great video as even listening gets me in based upon the fact you have a soothing, easy listening voice.
I totally understand the concept of the V neck, but my neck area is definitely not a feature I want to emphasize as an almost 69 year old with very fair skin. It’s not that I’m overweight at 5’4”, 125 lbs. I just don’t like how my neck and upper chest look. Hoping the long necklace will be a decent substitute.
I completely understand! We always want to highlight are best parts and disguise areas that we don't feel our best about. Hopefully some of the other tips in this video were helpful! xo
Hello mam i am from Bangladesh but now i have settled Canada for higher studies for my two sons, i watch your channel and like your every suggestions for updating myself in modern look especially for the age of 40+ woman, how to keep slim outfit look everything that you have suggested is really fantastic and valuable advice to help us for preparing myself look gorgeous, keep it up and best of luck to you for giving this suggestion.
I said to my friend that when in 5th grade I was a stick recktangle and I said I got curveryer and got bigger hips and love handles and she said " I don't belive you, you're like a twig" That was rlly rude telling me that idk my own body shape and telling me I am a twig. :/ she doesn't even know what my body looks like....
Depending on the body type..some of these styles tend to flatten the derriere! Which is extremely unappealing, and ageing for a woman..which is something we are not striving for!! We still need to be particular about our clothing choices.
True, but if looking slimmer is your priority, you’ll want these tips. Often we have to think about priority…if it’s making the backside look rounded there are other tips like wearing jeans with smaller and higher back pockets. xo
Thanks for all the great tips. As we get older, things tend to go south and shape wear is such a great idea. I am petite like you and never thought I needed it, but I think it's time to give it a try for those special events where I want to really shine. Great video!
Yes, I think you mean a 9-10" rise. Here is a video specifically talking about disguising a bit of a tummy. I hope it helps: ruclips.net/video/3o5uENioU90/видео.html
Hi Erin, I love your videos! I always look forward to seeing them! You have a great personality! and I love how feminine and soft spoken you are! You have a great sense of style!❤ from Canada
Hi I like your suggestion, can you please recommend some style for hide tummy with scarfs too? Also fat arms.. what to wear for pear shaped body with fat arms. Thanks
Yes, yes, yes, to flare, high waisted, Vneck, solid color, pointed toe, heels. I can part the red sea when I use that combo! ; ) When I wear flats, skinnies, and prints, my 5'7" feels frumpy and I splash every puddle. This advice is pure gold! Love my Busbee Style tips!
You had really great tips, but would drive your point home so much better, would be to get someone who really needs your tips. It's kind of pointless you see these on you, as it's like you said, you don't need it. I would have really liked to seen what a difference your tips would make on someone who needed it.
Thank you for your feedback, Carol! As you might imagine, it isn't easy to find volunteers to appear in a "Look Slimmer" video, especially in my small town. I have years of experience styling women of all shapes and sizes...give the tips a try! xo
I need some advice 😅 I’m 5’6, 110 lbs but I look like I weigh about 150 lbs. I don’t mind being on the thicker size, but I would love to look my weight Thanks!
Posture, Posture, Posture! Shoulders back, head high, smile and own the room! People often are disbelieving if the topic of height comes up and I share that I am 5'2. I just say, "I THINK tall," and laugh...but it's true! No matter your height or what you look like, NOTHING is as attractive as self confidence. Funny thing is, when you make good posture a habit it will positively affect self confidence. Love this channel!
Would a wedge shoe qualify as a heal? Or Dansco? My knees and back hurt when heal lifted too much, but I do like the elongated leg look. Thx so much!!!💗💗💗
Not to be nitpicking cause your so beautiful and stylish, but the V neck part - I don't agree with that. I think you look more elongated and thin with the round neck line by far!
High Rise jeans are amazing, I have big thighs and a small waist, and it gives me even more of an hour glass shape, lifts my butt and makes me look slimmer! Don't know why I didn't wear them sooner!
I have a question; What if you have a belly button ring. any suggestions on how to prevent your high rise jeans from rubbing up against it possibly ripping it out?
That's a good question. I'd go with a super high rise (above the belly button) or more of a mid rise (just under). You could also put a piece of medical tape over it so it didn't rub. xo
Can you do a video for people who aren't pregnant but have a lot of belly fat and look pregnant but aren't. I would never be able to wear a belt and create a waist like that. Huge belly is hard to dress stylish. Love lobe love your videos by the way and been sharing with my friends
I can only hope that Flare Jean's do NOT come back in style and kick skinnies to the curb 🤦♀️ High school all over and I hated that time... but literally and in fashion. Lol. You and Naomi Boyer look great in flare Jean's tho!
Agreed. I always hated the look of flare jeans. It’s not attractive to have all that excess fabric flapping around the bottom of your legs. I suppose it draws attention away from your thighs, but to me it’s not an improvement. When I was in high school in the 80s, flares were the worse fashion mistake one could ever make. Even the biggest loser nerd wouldn’t touch them (and I know because I was that loser nerd) so maybe it’s just that I have been conditioned, but I don’t think they are a good look. You don’t solve your figure problems by making your lower legs look huge.
Has anyone else thought or told you that you look a lot like Michelle Pfeiffer back in her young days like time of Scarface. Honestly to me you look so much like her. That's a compliment
Look for body skimming styles...not tight. They are not only better for those with sensory issues, but also often look more polished. Body skimming is not tight, but merely follows the shape of the body. xo
I think that jean companies need to really work on the cut and shape of the pockets they put on jeans. They can really make or break your “butt look”.
So true!!!
Agree with pocket placement, they tend to put them to low so they’re on your leg!
I have the hips and ass of a twelve year old boy; I'm 5' tall and a size zero with a 29" inseam. I love my ultra low rise jeans with the big back pockets. They give my ass a girliER shape lol

The only people who truly look fantastic in skinny jeans are the ones with long & skinny legs. The rest of us look better in boot, boyfriend or flare🌸

I don't think that's always true. I carry all my weight on my bottom half and I love skinny jeans. Gotta wear the right top with it, that's all.

I disagree, they look like sticks! And no curve. I am 5'4" and I look alot better in skinny jeans with wedge heel. I weigh 190#..
I have non existent waist, when wearing belt it only emphasises that there really is none.
You can create illusion of a waist by wearing slim pants/jeans/skirts and a peplum top. The flare/ruffle at the hip area.
Check out Aly Art's videos on Kibbe body types. Some body types really don't benefit from waist definition. You might be a natural body type.

I feel so unlike “me.”
Thank you for your time, tips & videos. It’s very helpful. ❤️
That red polkadot skirt is amazing
Very helpfull,Smart and true i feel confident in my body too But, there are clothes that make you fluffy and clothes that make you skinnier🤷🏼♀️
Love your new haircut! And yes, you definitely don't need to look any slimmer. You look great Erin! 🙂
Its refreshing. Its like she is one of us and just wants to help.
Oh my goodness I have been waiting for this how to make my bust look smaller thank you so much!!!!!
Such great tips, thank you for this wonderful review 👍🤗
sweet, down-to-earth, and confident - nice combo for a stylist!
U have super cool wardrobe. I love your clothes💗💗💗
My suggestion is to make sure your back pockets are placed in the right spot and aren't too big.
Great advice. Shame you have to disclaim for giving it .
Your a beautiful lady and I'm glad you made this video, it helps cause I'm a full figure 5'7 women. Thank you so much
Thank you, Joyce! I'm so glad that you found this helpful! xo
You definitely won the “ GENETIC LOTTERY”.....NOT ONE THING WRONG WITH YOU .....& you have a lovely personality 🎄🎄. GOD BLESS YOU 🌹
Erin, I’m your height and weight but I’m short wasted.
I’m carrying excess weight and my build is definitely pear shaped ( maybe pyramid 😏). I hate skinny jeans which just accentuate this.
If you hate skinny jeans, hang tight! We are starting to see so many different denim silhouettes. xo
I look for blazer and I found one that your videos and I like , now I subscribe to you canal ,thanks
Great video! These tips are on point and a great reminder on how to look slimmer! Thank you, Erin!!
Hopefully some of the other tips in this video were helpful! xo
Awesome tips and I thought the bonus tips were especially good. Your hair looks gorgeous. Thanks Erin!
High pointed shoes are really not suitable for walking and everyday wear
Thanks a lot I always stay away from fit and flare pants. I thought it would over whelm my body I’m 4”11 ,115 .
So glad my channel has been helpful!! xo
I absolutely LOVE the Soma Vanishing Back Bras! I own them in almost every color.
I’m sure she was not trying to offend. Sometimes we are too quick to see flaws in ourselves that others don’t see. xo
Oye pointed toe shoes don’t work for everyone! They kill my feet! Not worth it for me.
Robin L I personally think they are ugly on EVERYBODY.
Robin L I can’t walk in them , they’re just torture. Not worth it at all.
I thought the same but I actually find them comfortable! Keep searching for the right pair...
@@tammycain8421 - I'm with you. Everyone else, keep looking, and you'll find your right shoe.
Depending on the body type..some of these styles tend to flatten the derriere! Which is extremely unappealing, and ageing for a woman..which is something we are not striving for!! We still need to be particular about our clothing choices.
True, but if looking slimmer is your priority, you’ll want these tips. Often we have to think about priority…if it’s making the backside look rounded there are other tips like wearing jeans with smaller and higher back pockets. xo
If you think that the intro of the video was too long (just like me) then go instantly in 1:55 time of the video
Never think of it as looking slimmer. Think balanced. For me I look more balanced in low rise jeans, because high rise jeans create bulk I don’t have.
I just saw you for the first time, and really enjoyed the video. Will keep watching
I am definitely a new subscriber thank you so much 😁
Thanks for all the great tips. As we get older, things tend to go south and shape wear is such a great idea. I am petite like you and never thought I needed it, but I think it's time to give it a try for those special events where I want to really shine. Great video!
i hope you see this
Yes, I think you mean a 9-10" rise. Here is a video specifically talking about disguising a bit of a tummy. I hope it helps: ruclips.net/video/3o5uENioU90/видео.html
Hi Erin,
I love your videos!
Thanks
Here are some videos you may enjoy! ruclips.net/user/BusbeeStyleTVsearch?view_as=subscriber&query=tummy
I have years of experience styling women of all shapes and sizes...give the tips a try! xo
I need some advice 😅
I’m 5’6, 110 lbs but I look like I weigh about 150 lbs. I don’t mind being on the thicker size, but I would love to look my weight
Thanks!
Funny thing is, when you make
good posture a habit it will positively affect self confidence. Love this channel!
So true...Confidence is SO important! xo
I love high rise jeans! Thanks for the tips!
Would a wedge shoe qualify as a heal? Or Dansco? My knees and back hurt when heal lifted too much, but I do like the elongated leg look. Thx so much!!!💗💗💗
This is the first video i saw of you, and I just love your energy!
Not to be nitpicking cause your so beautiful and stylish, but the V neck part - I don't agree with that. I think you look more elongated and thin with the round neck line by far!
Fit and flare jeans! A woman’s best friend! Love the ones you are showing here! And heels... for sure!
I have a small but pointed face. V necks just make it look longer/ more pointed. Maybe not crew necks but scooped would be best?
You are right, a v-neck will make you appear longer. If you prefer a scoop neck that's fine. Go for it! xo
Oh, how I ADORE your videos! ❤️
High Rise jeans are amazing, I have big thighs and a small waist, and it gives me even more of an hour glass shape, lifts my butt and makes me look slimmer! Don't know why I didn't wear them sooner!
They really are! xo
Feel like high rise jeans make a flat butt flatter. Is that correct?
High rise jeans me a pooch. Mid rise are my faves.
I don't think the rise is the problem, what makes your butt look even more flat is the back pockets in the wrong position and a bad cut.
Bigger the pockets ...smaller the butt. Small pockets...butt looks bigger
Yes, you're right. A classic recommendation for the flat butted, is to wear low rise jeans.
I have a question; What if you have a belly button ring. any suggestions on how to prevent your high rise jeans from rubbing up against it possibly ripping it out?
That's a good question. I'd go with a super high rise (above the belly button) or more of a mid rise (just under). You could also put a piece of medical tape over it so it didn't rub. xo
Nice! Need these shows with models carrying some extra heft- that would be a help.
I find that high rise jeans squish all my fat down below the waist band, so I end up with even more of a paunch.
Not all high rise jeans are the same... You might just prefer a mid-rise though, Jess! xo
So sad she has to be so PC in her disclaimer. Great video!
Yes! Just what I wanted to say
PC?
Anja Kjeldgaard
Politically correct
Mishtebell🥀 just what I wnted to say!
Yep. Everyone is walking on eggshells these days.
Can you do a video for people who aren't pregnant but have a lot of belly fat and look pregnant but aren't. I would never be able to wear a belt and create a waist like that. Huge belly is hard to dress stylish. Love lobe love your videos by the way and been sharing with my friends
High waiste skirt or pants, nd a higher waistline ot bell shaped top works for me, just make sure there are NO GATHERS.
Thanks much, really helpful specially im an inverted triangle body
Your body is banging and your face is beautiful... what diet do you follow?
You can judge the rise from the length of the zipper
Has anyone else thought or told you that you look a lot like Michelle Pfeiffer back in her young days like time of Scarface. Honestly to me you look so much like her. That's a compliment
I love pointed toe shoes, but I have wide feet, so they hurt me 😩
Love your videos
Same here 😩
You can love everything because you are SO SLIM
Can you give advice for people who have sensory issues and cannot wear tight clothing, necklaces, heeled shoes, belts, etc?
Look for body skimming styles...not tight. They are not only better for those with sensory issues, but also often look more polished. Body skimming is not tight, but merely follows the shape of the body. xo
