I REALLY hope this means Nintendo will try to do a zelda or metroid movie, both those titles deserve a big budget movie for all they've contributed to in both gaming and other medias.
I almost feel like Zelda would work better as an anime, same with Metroid, to be honest. I don't necessarily think every one of their properties needs a 3D animated movie. It would be cool, but I feel like Mario lends itself better to the 3D-animated movie style better than their other IPs would.

I swear some of you guys are taking this too seriously. This movie is based from a video game about a short man called Mario who stomps on funny-looking-walking-brown-mushrooms and flying bird-turtles, saving the Princess and shit, and oh he can fly too, if he wear a racoon suit. But hey, his accent is problematic. 🤦🏿♂️
@@ServantBerserkerZero Its not problematic, its as iconic as Mickey Mouse's voice. It's good they kept the iconic accent in the opening commercials, would have been fine to do it for the whole movie too since Goofy Movie proves cartoon voices can be done seriously and the voice was designed for Martinet to speak for hours at trade shows and in the old PC games.
I'm surprised you didn't mention the Cafe that the movie starts off in called the "Punch Out Cafe" which has pictures of Little Mac, his opponents like Glass Joe, Don Flamenco, and even Sandman (all from the Wii version of course) and even the lights were made of little pieces of papers cut out to be Little Mac's green boxing glove. I loved this reference so much because it basically meant that Punch Out was canon within the Super Mario movie and that just made me smile.
This movie was awesome. Saw it with my kid and girlfriend. The entire theater was packed, everyone was laughing and by the end of the movie, the entire theater was clapping.
Personally I loved the scene that was one giant nod to Luigi's Mansion. They had Luigi's body language the exact same, with the arched back and terrified/anxious face, yelping and flinching at everything, flashlight and all. Even the trees were nearly the same! It was so close to being exactly ripped from the game while being its own thing and it was fantastic, especially with the lava. Charlie Day was definitely my favorite performance in the film, I loved the manic energy he brought to Luigi. Jack Black is a very close second though...
Whenever a movie is hated by Critics, it usually means it's a good movie lol. Such is the case with this movie, The Super Mario Bros. Movie was amazing, so of course... leave it to Critics to find reasons to hate it, right?
There are fans who have reviewed this movie and said that the movie cares more about referencing past Mario installments than telling a cohesive and compelling story. So much so that by the end people have left the movie feeling tired rather than invested in the climax. Whether or not you agree, you can't separate people into "fans" and "not fans" based on whether or not they approve of this movie.
I went to see the movie opening night with my friend, we both dressed up as Mario and Luigi with our real mustaches 😅 We had a lot of families in the theater asking if they could take pictures with us and we were like “Yeah!” We had a really fun time, just us Mario fans watching our favorite characters on the big screen! 😊
That’s wholesome. My brother and I wore our Nintendo shirts and hats. It’s been a long time for a movie to make me want to do stuff like this, and it was a great time.
after seeing the movie, Illumination was a good choice for a Mario movie. however, If Nintendo ever does a Zelda movie, they should have Dreamworks produce it since those games are more character and story driven, and Dreamworks are good at that sort of thing.
For those who noticed even THESE little details in the movie, Mario does his down spike attack on bowser twice (it’s that attack he used to destroy the wooden bowser and later used in the final battle) and Donkey kong used his front smash attack during his battle with Mario. It’s honestly amazing to see these people even take up details from other games, showing that they know their characters even outside of the Mario games
So glad to hear you enjoyed it, Act Man. The movie had a sense of love and celebration of the Mario games and cartoons. It was simply a love letter to the fans. So that’s why I ended up really happy with this movie. It’s heartwarming to know many fans are enjoying the film and that the movie is crushing box office records. Look forward to watching it again.
the easter egg i immediately noticed that no one seems to be talking about is the pizzaria in the beginning where mario and luigi are first seen. i think all the call backs to punch out are amazing, and seeing glass joe in his full glory in a picture is so cool
This has to be some of the most fun I’ve ever had watching a movie. It was seriously great! I doubted Illumination would pull it off, but they proved me and everyone else wrong.
Same, I'm turning 39 this month and grew up with Mario 3 and SMW and it made me feel like I did back then. It just got what it needed to be, kept it simple, didn't force a message us that won't resonate with some people, and just enjoyed being itself. It was ridiculous because Mario games are ridiculous. So many sad bois and girls out there saying it's so awful, it's crazy to me. It did 2-3x even what the biggest expectation was because word of mouth is so positive.
It sucked. It looked rushed. They Luigi somehow knows how to fight without training? Where did he get the courage to fight? I know its a movie but this movie is more for little kids
@@MiguelGarcia-nl3ci it’s a movie for families. Why are you even walking into this movie expecting a God of War level of storytelling? The movie came off feeling like it was made by actual Mario fans.. all of the references you see throughout the film feel like they come from a place of love rather then cynicism. And you don’t need a complex plot to be good, as long as the journey and adventure is fun and as long as the plot is serviceable for all those fun moments, then the movie did it’s job of staying true to the games without trying to overcomplicate the narrative.
@@MiguelGarcia-nl3ci Yeah no shit, Mario is a kids' game? Luigi had the star power up, so he was finally ready to fight. All these "movie had a simple plot" takes area so wild, it's a Mario movie. There's almost zero story in the Mario franchise.
To be honest i really hated the fact that when the first trailer dropped everyone was mocking Chris Pratt for his Mario's voice because "it's literally his normal voice" but when the second one dropped and we heard Anya Taylor-Joy's Peach voice that was basically her voice and nobody complained
I think that the main idea of a movie, is that you should leave the cinema knowing that you've had a great time. And the Super Mario Bros movie certainly made me feel great.
I really enjoyed the reference in the beginning of the film where Mario and Luigi are running to their first job and the camera switches to a 2D side-scrolling view as the brothers parkour their way down the sidewalk. Gave me the biggest smile seeing that
The best part for me was listening to little kids geek out over bowser and donkey kong. It fills my heart with joy seeing a new generation of kids getting excited over these characters that basically raised me....I'm 32 but remember mario has been around since the 80s....so it's had a HUGE impact on my childhood.
If you love that DK stuff and you haven't already hit up the soundtrack, listen to the track "Drivin' me bananas" it's clearly supposed to be where Take On Me is used in the movie and we were robbed it wasn't included!
Yeah, I will say one of the only gripes I had with the movie was the stupid addition of overused 80s songs. I really hope Illumination doesn't do that for the second movie, because Brian Tyler's Soundtrack was legitimately impeccable!
Peach is portrayed more like how she is in the Manga during the Super Paper Mario arc of it (aka she's able to solo 100 samurai in a bunch of 1v1s back to back with no room to breathe and she also had the Super Princess Peach game)
Chris Pratt did an amazing job. I'm in love with this movie. I love the "girl boss" peach because they did it right. They showcased her as confident, strong leader, and motivated to succeed while at the same time she was sweet caring supportive of mario and wanted him to succeed to. Sure she teases him a bit but she still shows so much supportive attitude towards him that the character relationship made me smile all the way through.
Great summary! I would only add that the orchestral score is phenomenal and incorporates so many tunes from the games. Mostly very on the nose, but sometimes a bit more subtle (I really liked when Bowsers ship shows up and you can hear that theme in the bassline). All in all just so much love for the source material.
My favorite character was definitely Bowser because Jack Black murdered that role in the first degree, for sure. I also liked Charlie Day and Keegan-Michael Key, in their respective roles. I wasn't the biggest fan of Chris Pratt or Seth Rogen, but I liked the effort they put forward and the scenes with DK were nice, LOVED the DK Rap as well and Peach was pretty alright. Mario Kart scenes were my favorite actually, surprised you didn't mention the "You can't escape me... BLUE SHELL!!!!" Scene, that was my second favorite scene in the movie, as a Mario Kart tryhard. Hope we get a Luigi's Mansion movie with Luigi at the forefront, as well as a DK Movie, but most especially, I hope there's a lot of that brotherly love between Mario and Luigi in the next movie, because my favorite part of the movie was when Luigi remembered Mario protecting him as a kid, and saving Mario from Bowser's Fire Breath by holding up the Sewer Lid. It was a nice heartfelt moment and made me kinda wish we saw more Mario and Luigi together, I love that scene.
That cart sequence makes me wonder if that one random nameless miniboss Koopa was supposed to have a bigger role or something since he does way more than Kamek and goes down like a supporting major villain (that BLUE SHELL attack was super hype for a random nameless nobody).
@@joshuakim5240 True, but I think it was meant to be a "HOLY FUCK, THEY'RE NOT GONNA-" type of moment, but who knows. Only thing I know for sure, is that I hope they bring back that single player challenge mode in the next Mario Kart, and the Blue Shelled Koopa is the Final Boss in the Campaign style Mode (and they give him a name!) because I love Mario Kart and I loved that Blue Shell Guy. Also, he does don slightly different armor, like pointy shoulder-pads, so he must be an important part of Bowsers Army. I do love Kamek though, so I kinda don't want Blue Shell Koopa to have replaced Kamek, even if he was there first, just cuz Kamek is often overlooked. Also, in the next movie, they better have Lakitu. Either planting "Strawberries", harassing our heroes with Strawberries by throwing them in the way, or taking coins if they fall off another track, like Rainbow Road. I was kinda hoping for Lakitu, but I knew that would remove the impact of the Blue Shell scene, so it's fair that they didn't use him.
I quite liked it. My only real gripe as the movie’s pacing was a bit too fast for me. All the plot beats were hit, but it needed a bit more time for each scene to breath and feel natural. Granted, I have seen people say that kids have shorter attention spans so a faster pace works for them. I’m one of those guys who likes long ass movies that take their time developing things.
I’m pretty much in the same boat as you I liked the movie way more than I disliked it but there are a lot of scenes and moments that needed the pacing to slow down Jack Black as Bowser is single-handedly the best casting in this movie, you can tell he is just hamming it up every moment he’s on screen
I normally love longer movies like the lord of the rings and the green mile, etc. but with this movie, I loved the ADHD feeling, probably cuz I love Mario Kart and I love fast and short things packed to the brim with excitement, like a roller coaster. Sometimes it feels nice to be at the edge of your seat throughout an entire movie and I actually kinda loved how ADHD it was, especially since I tend to have trouble being still throughout long movies, even though I enjoy them.
Jack Black and Luigi and Mario's chemistry was good were the only good things in the movie. Jack Black's music is good but the bad placement of 80's rock was bad.
I was a kid when I saw the 1993 film the first time. Had no idea what I watched and was convinced it was some sort of fever dream. Fast forward to several years of video games and pop culture later, I stumble on it again and realized it's not a fever dream. It's an acid nightmare and I still love every minute of it. It's like if Martin Scorsese and Quentin Tarantino did DMT, speed ran Mario, and then recorded their results of their sleep deprived psychosis.
This movie was fantastic for what it was! I'm glad Illumination made this movie and I hope they also get to make a Kirby movie and perhaps even an Earthbound movie. I would love it if the sequel to the Super Mario Bros. movie is 45 minutes or even an hour longer.
I watched it today. So many amazing references and small things that made my heart fill with glee. I nearly teared up when I saw Mario grab Bowser's tail and throw him LOL a lot of attention to detail and I'm sure excited to see the next movie, too 😏 THAT POST CREDIT SCENE THOUGH
I had an NES as a kid. A neighbor got the SNES. In college I played smash bros on my roommates game cube. Outside of that, I'm not familiar with most of the Mario games. However, we're planning to take the kids this weekend. It will be their second movie at the theaters. Their first was Paw Patrol a couple years ago. It's been that long since a movie has come out that we could take them to go see.
It's honestly about as perfect of a kids' first/second movie as you could ask for. My brother hasn't let his kid watch TV or see a movie yet (age 5) and I made a hard sell trying to convince him to use this to introduce them. He said no, and it really makes me sad because I know as a kid this movie would be incredible. c
Don't forget the other easter eggs if you miss them: Star Fox Arwing, Pikmin, Funky Kong. Movie knew exactly who it was catering to. And that song better get that Oscar, only b/c I want to see Jack Black rocking a Bowser tux for the Academies!
I think they did a really good job of portraying Peach in this film, they made her capable but not in an over the top and invasive way. It feels natural

I can't get over that one critic review that said the movie goes off the deepend with the electronic sounds and magical pipes. Like bro...what did you expect. It's a fucking mario movie.
Personally I would've liked Luigi to have more of a character development, because all movie he was in that cage in Browser flying stronghold or how is called Would have been for Luigi to escape from the cage and sabotaging Bowser flying stronghold (I don't know how that flying thing is called) like the cannons making them to malfunction and when Mario and Donkey Kong comes on the rocket and kupas tries to shoot them with the cannons, the cannons explode or don't work and Mario should say something like "That's lucky" or something like this to add development to Luigi But Jack Black was the best as always
But the thing is thats very unlike luigi to do... hes a scardey cat. Only reason he does what he does in luigis mansion is cuz he has to save his brother!
My friend pointed out to me that on a tv screen when Bowser is defeated, it shows a news headline saying that Pauline was elected as mayor. I thought that it was such a cool minute detail that just shows how much care the staff put in this movie
This year is looking good on animated movies. We had great movies like puss in boots 2, Del toro's Pinochio and now we got The Mario movie. Let's hope Teen kraken to be a good as possible
The Easter eggs really were impressive. I liked how the Luma was a voiced character but when it did the magic trick with the pinwheel it made the luma noise from Mario galaxy.
Just watched the movie before watching this. All the references to not only Mario history, but also Nintendo history that paralleled at the time Mario started to take off in the 80s made me so happy. Every 5 minutes or so I'd hear a music I recognized or see a reference to another game (Wrecking Crew, Punch-Out, etc.) & it kept a smile on my face the whole time. I absolutely loved it!
I swear some of the attacks Mario and Luigi used at the end must have been inspired from the Bros attacks from the Mario & Luigi GBA series. It was all in all so fun to watch.
As an ADHD man, I’m surprised that Illumination puts a lot of Easter eggs based on the source material itself. I hope this movie will kickstart the Nintendo Cinematic Universe (NCU) or the Mario Cinematic Universe (MCU).
As far as other references go I would also add that Brian Tyler’s score for the movie has so many great nods to the iconic music we all know and love. Also Luigi’s ringtone on his phone too lol.
One thing you may have forgotten to touch on is that there are so many musical references in this movie, it's so nostalgic! Like when Mario first laid eyes on the Mushroom Kingdom with the castle in the background after he first met Toad, there was a melodic allusion to the Inside the Castle Walls theme from Super Mario 64. I also remember hearing allusions to the original Super Mario Brothers game (Underground theme), the main theme from Super Mario Odyssey, music from Luigi's mansion, music from Mario Kart 8 and music from Donkey Kong Country. There are also some fully blown re-imagined orchestral interpretations of reoccurring musical themes in the games. Definitely worth a watch.
Definitely a fine 7/10 movie, perfectly serviceable. Plot was never Mario's strong suite but the Mario world is very iconic so I'm glad it took so many things from different games and incorporate them into the movie.
I would really love it if Nintendo would release every Super Mario Game as a box set collection for Nintendo switch. I would easily pay $200-$300 dollars for that
Absolute favorite part was when the DK rap played. Went with my family (we all grew up on Mario) and whispered to my dad "Imagine if they played the intro rap from Donkey Kong 64?" Then literally a minute later it was on full blast as Donkey Kong busted the door open! I was absolutely gobsmacked. 11/10 movie for me.
I was smiling, laughing, even crying tears of joy watching this movie. Super Mario Bros on the NES was the first game I ever played back when I was 4 years old and to see something so faithful and also fun to watch was just amazing. It's the happiest time I have had in a cinema in a very long time.
I’m pretty sure Peach could do a lot in the games in spite of sometimes being a damsel in distress so I thought it fit pretty well and helped further the hero’s journey of growth. *Spoiler below* I do think that when Luigi entered the dark lands some of that segment was perhaps intended as a reference to Luigi’s Mansion.
I just watched it tonight with my mom and what’s great is that we were able to both able to enjoy the movie for different reasons. I was gawking at all the references packed into the movie (the GameCube ringtone, Super Mario super show theme and kart building scene were some of my favorite), but she was able to enjoy it just because it’s a damn good film. It just speaks to the care they put into making this, both creating a film that is lighthearted and entertaining yet saluting to the fans that have been dedicated to the series for so long. Cant wait to see what they do with this kinda momentum
Started with Mario but became more of a Zelda fan then Metroid. Even though I don't play every Mario game anymore and missed the entire Galaxy series, it still holds a special place and my first memories of videogames. This movie was fantastic for me. Just a complete utter joy to watch
I loved this and still love the Minions….this movie was fun, the writing was great, the characters were really well balanced. Yes, the pacing is way a little too fast, but not too bad for me
I honestly couldn't be anymore annoyed when people just write Peach off as a "Girl Boss", never mind that she's been a playable protagonist since SMB2 and treated on equal footing in Smash and the sports games, Peach has to be a tough, dependable woman otherwise the Mushroom Kingdom would of conquered long before Mario even arrived to the world sinch she's the only one that would be able to fight and lead.
Love your take on this, after watching angry Joe’s review of this film, and the critical response I was a little concerned. After I got to see the film with my family, I was kind of confused on why so many people seemed upset with the movie. I do feel the film played it safe on this one, but I wasn’t asking for giant risk-taking story beats for a Mario film. I just wanted a fun Mario movie I can take my daughter to where we could both escape to a world I enjoyed growing up in.

It was so close to being exactly ripped from the game while being its own thing and it was fantastic, especially with the lava. Charlie Day was definitely my favorite performance in the film, I loved the manic energy he brought to Luigi. Jack Black is a very close second though...
The more the critics hate the movie, the more the fans will love it.
Damn straight!
In this days if any movie is hated by critics, it just mean it didn't push enough propaganda for the critics to be satisfied.
And that’s honestly the best you can hope for
Whenever a movie is hated by Critics, it usually means it's a good movie lol.
I wore my Luigi hat to the theater on Sunday, have no regrets.
@@actuallynotsteve that’s awesome ✊🏻 I was the one dressed up as Luigi 🙋🏻♂️
That’s wholesome. My brother and I wore our Nintendo shirts and hats. It’s been a long time for a movie to make me want to do stuff like this, and it was a great time.
That's great
That's Actually pretty Awesome
after seeing the movie, Illumination was a good choice for a Mario movie. however, If Nintendo ever does a Zelda movie, they should have Dreamworks produce it since those games are more character and story driven, and Dreamworks are good at that sort of thing.
I loved the scene with the dog. It was surreal and perfect for setting up the scope of their world before going to the mushroom kingdom
That screen was pretty funny
@@MiguelGarcia-nl3ci I agree with you on this one
To be honest i really hated the fact that when the first trailer dropped everyone was mocking Chris Pratt for his Mario's voice because "it's literally his normal voice" but when the second one dropped and we heard Anya Taylor-Joy's Peach voice that was basically her voice and nobody complained
I think that the main idea of a movie, is that you should leave the cinema knowing that you've had a great time.
And the Super Mario Bros movie certainly made me feel great.
Any movie with Jack Black is an immediate W in my eyes.
The Mandalorian proves otherwise.

This movie was just good old fashioned fun. My mid 30’s mates and I had massive smiles on our faces the entire movie.
Thank you for giving the proper critique of Mario's voice!!! Someone else finally said it! You have just become my favorite reviewer!
Toad was such a boss in this movie. I love how they did it, and Keegan of course played a huge part in that.
Man it’s hard waiting for Act Man videos, love the content and please keep em coming
I really enjoyed the reference in the beginning of the film where Mario and Luigi are running to their first job and the camera switches to a 2D side-scrolling view as the brothers parkour their way down the sidewalk. Gave me the biggest smile seeing that
just for the mario galaxy music in the credits it deserves a 10/10
Fun Fact: for the film's Latin American Spanish dubbing, they got Master Chief's voice actor for Mario. He's been dubbing Chief's voice since Halo 3.
@@DeadSpacedOut it's a problem with illumination, I hope they work out the kinks in the next film
Let’s just hope that the other songs are added in the streaming version of the movie.
@@themariobroschannel8763 That's definitely what i'm hoping for sure.
As a plumber who struggled with his brothers to start a plumbing company I cried when they where told the commercial was a waste of money ….. 😢
Sorry to hear that :(
Great summary!
I’m pretty much in the same boat as you I liked the movie way more than I disliked it but there are a lot of scenes and moments that needed the pacing to slow down
Jack Black as Bowser is single-handedly the best casting in this movie, you can tell he is just hamming it up every moment he’s on screen
WW3 is coming

@@KootenaiKing I saw the tmnt trailer when I went to see the mario movie as well.

Jack Black is the absolute MVP of this film
He’s the mvp of real life
Jack Black and Luigi and Mario's chemistry was good were the only good things in the movie. Jack Black's music is good but the bad placement of 80's rock was bad.
Not really. He had the easy job. They could have cast Zac Efron as Bowser and nothing would change.
This movie was so much fun. If we get a sequel I hope it's even better
I am going to go watch the movie tomorrow on my 21st birthday. Can’t wait!

This movie was fantastic for what it was! I'm glad Illumination made this movie and I hope they also get to make a Kirby movie and perhaps even an Earthbound movie. I would love it if the sequel to the Super Mario Bros. movie is 45 minutes or even an hour longer.

Must be hard being a parent nowadays. :/ But you're definitely a good one.
It's honestly about as perfect of a kids' first/second movie as you could ask for. My brother hasn't let his kid watch TV or see a movie yet (age 5) and I made a hard sell trying to convince him to use this to introduce them. He said no, and it really makes me sad because I know as a kid this movie would be incredible. c

I can't get over that one critic review that said the movie goes off the deepend with the electronic sounds and magical pipes. Like bro...what did you expect. It's a fucking mario movie.
This movie was incredibly charming for its fun factor, nostalgia, and comedy. I recommend it to everybody.
Personally I would've liked Luigi to have more of a character development, because all movie he was in that cage in Browser flying stronghold or how is called
Would have been for Luigi to escape from the cage and sabotaging Bowser flying stronghold (I don't know how that flying thing is called) like the cannons making them to malfunction and when Mario and Donkey Kong comes on the rocket and kupas tries to shoot them with the cannons, the cannons explode or don't work and Mario should say something like "That's lucky" or something like this to add development to Luigi
But Jack Black was the best as always
But the thing is thats very unlike luigi to do... hes a scardey cat. Only reason he does what he does in luigis mansion is cuz he has to save his brother!
@@808Slush they could’ve pulled it off, Luigi’s a scardy cat but he’s brave; he would do anything for the people he loves.
The Super Mario Bros movie end credits also paid tribute to Iwata as well, He would be very proud of the film!
My favorite moment of the film was the hype scene with the spiny shell. That gave me goosebumps.
My friend pointed out to me that on a tv screen when Bowser is defeated, it shows a news headline saying that Pauline was elected as mayor. I thought that it was such a cool minute detail that just shows how much care the staff put in this movie
I loved the parts where Bowser sang about Peach and he kept saying “Peaches peaches peaches peaches peaches peaches peaches peaches”
Wasn’t expecting to see a review of this from you! Going to see the movie again soon, because my first reception of it was that it was pretty mid.

Now we just need a Mario & Sonic at the Olympics movie
Jack Black as Bowser was hands down my favorite
Watched it yesterday in 4DX and it was like a ride all the way through 🤣
❤👨 its so rare nowadays that a studio actually understands what they are adapting
Grew up playing Mario, I cried and had the FATTEST smile throughout the entire movie.
Yeah it was pretty good 😊
I mean I didn't cry or anything, but it was honestly very heart-warming to see all of it come together so well.
Critics probably expected Mario warfare level of story telling
The Easter eggs really were impressive. I liked how the Luma was a voiced character but when it did the magic trick with the pinwheel it made the luma noise from Mario galaxy.
The super mario bros movie was so amazing and I'm glad you watch it and nice video act man :]
In my opinion, the VA’s in the movie did good, Jack Black was badass as Bowser, Chris Pratt did pretty good as Mario
Here’s the greatest fact: Donkey Kong is the most in-shape (and strongest) character Seth Rogan has ever played.
I had a constant smile on my face. The fact that Dick Figures creator Ed Skudder made this story work is so amazing
The CGI of this movie is pushing the boundaries of how good CGI can look.
The 1993 film is now the equivalent of "don't worry son, we have Mario at home".
Even so there are great Mario stories
9/10

I would really love it if Nintendo would release every Super Mario Game as a box set collection for Nintendo switch. I would easily pay $200-$300 dollars for that
Absolute favorite part was when the DK rap played. Went with my family (we all grew up on Mario) and whispered to my dad "Imagine if they played the intro rap from Donkey Kong 64?" Then literally a minute later it was on full blast as Donkey Kong busted the door open! I was absolutely gobsmacked. 11/10 movie for me.
Jack Black did an amazing job on voicing Bowser
I was smiling, laughing, even crying tears of joy watching this movie. Super Mario Bros on the NES was the first game I ever played back when I was 4 years old and to see something so faithful and also fun to watch was just amazing.
It's the happiest time I have had in a cinema in a very long time.
I’m pretty sure Peach could do a lot in the games in spite of sometimes being a damsel in distress so I thought it fit pretty well and helped further the hero’s journey of growth.
*Spoiler below*
I do think that when Luigi entered the dark lands some of that segment was perhaps intended as a reference to Luigi’s Mansion.
Cant wait to see what they do with this kinda momentum
i enjoyed watching it again with my family it was nice
