The level headed, no nonsense, no whining and determined response to agression of the Ukranian people is actually an inspiration to - especially the young people - of the west. Face the music, deal with, and come out with your head held high.

My 103-year-old friend was lamenting the war. She wanted Ukraine to make peace with ruzzia, and Israel to make peace with Hamas. She said we all want to be at peace. I told her, yes, people all around the world want to live in peace. But living among us are outlaws who want to kill us. What can the peaceful people do to keep the outlaws from killing them? That made her think.

and as much as I hate to say it as I live here (sorta, Alaska is different from most of the US), Ukraine also needs to wean itself off of dependence on US-supplied anything. Reverse-engineer the systems given and build your own, work with Poland to manufacture munitions and ammo, but the US is too bipolar and prone to wild foreign relations mood swings based on which of the two political cults the sheeple put in charge to be relied on.
