- Hi Y'all! In today's video, we are back at the elderly couple's home cleaning up their bathroom 🙌This cleaning took me 3 DAYS 😲. It truly was such an awesome transformation in breathing life back into their space and I can't wait for the new year to keep on tackling the remaining spaces in their apartment.

❤❤ Well done!!! When I saw the sink I wondered, "Does she know she can pop off the tops of the knobs to get them off?" Out comes the screw driver. Yesssss! Awesome moment. 😊👍 And taking on that toilet and shower...... whew. That was a lot of work. The lady of the house was probably over the moon. Can't wait to see the rest.

Heather, omg! What a great clean! You are so meticulous. I am in a house of boys. I found after I had cleaned my boys bathroom, I found it stilled smelled in there! I discovered under lip behind the toilet bowl was caked with dried urine! Ewwww! That is where smell was coming from! I cleaned it and the odor was gone. Phew! Thank you for posting, girl you’re so sweet to help out our elderly. 😘❤️
I am always impressed by how far the urine seems to go with boys 🤣. I am always paranoid my toilets smell with boys in the house so try to stay extra diligent in cleaning the cracks and crevices!

Consider presenting them with the idea of perhaps put a shelving unit in the “storage” bathroom. The broken down box and “water containers” could be stored in a more pleasing way.

If they could spray Dawn power wash after each shower, it will really help. Make your own, 1/2 water 1/2 alcohol and 2-4:drops dishwashing liquid.
You might not he an expert in calking, but it looks much better then it did before
Yes, some short of shower spray each time would be super helpful in maintaining things!
I’m pretty sure there would be some special thick paint with grit in it as well,to redo the bottom of the shower!,( maybe Home Depot) ,worth a shot asking there !It would look like new 🙂

Hello Heather- feel free to delete this comment after you read it. I really wonder if the sink faucet leaked after you cleaned it. There are some cheaply made rubber gaskets/seals in those faucets. Once the chemicals were applied to clean the "gunk", it's highly probable the rubber gaskets/seals also broke down, resulting in a leaky faucet. In the plumbing department of any big box store you can buy packages that contain a variety of gaskets. You may want to keep some on hand, in case the faucet does leak after the cleaning. Those are CVT floors (composite vinyl tile). They are made for commercial application. The color of the tile goes throughout the tile, resulting in it lasting for decades. They were surely waxed when the place was new and looked beautiful. All wax yellows over time. I strongly suspect what you removed from the floor with the magic eraser was the old wax that yellowed with age. When those tiles are used properly in commercial applications, typically a cleaning business would handle the floor upkeep. They would be aware the floors need to be stripped, rewaxed, and buffed to retain the beautiful appearance over the decades. I am sure they have a "lifetime" wear policy in residential applications. It's a shame they were used in a residence that has no way to properly maintain them. These types of floors were popular in nursing homes, big box stores etc that had full time housekeeping/maintenance staff that are trained in floor maintenance. That is what they actually require to be properly maintained. The floor should be striped of all wax, 3 coats of new wax applied at least once per year, and then a proper buffing. You did a great job for what you were working with. WD-40 is a solvent that could have been used to dissolve the glue on the shower "grippy" tape. Then rubbing alcohol is used to clean up the solvent. Happy New Year to you and your family!
