Although, I've never really been told it was a negative quality, I did know that I was pretty abnormal in loving cleaning and organizing so much and thought, "why not use this weird gift to bless other people's lives?"😅 Love you, Heather! Housecleaning for a widower who just suffered loss is a useful way to really help them out. I don’t think you over-clean your house at all. I’ve watched you awhile, seen you declutter and clean your own house, and there was work to be done. It wasn’t spotless and you cleaned it, seems like that’s fine. I love to clean, have always have kept an immaculate home, and it’s because I enjoy it, and I do cleaning maintenance almost every day of my life. So you’re doing what should be done. It’s just a nice extra that you do so willingly for others also.

A house cleaning is a wonderful gift for anyone with a recent loss. You are so kind to do it for him. As far as the robot vacuum, be sure to do a LOT of research as there are many companies out there now. I am on my third one, this one has a mop, too. I LOVE it!

My condolences to the family for their loss, so sad to have lost a wife and mum especially with the child being so young 😥 I tried toy rotation once and it didn't work for me as once those toys were out of sight I forgot about them too 😂 ended up donating them when I found them during a house move two years later. Now I try to keep toys limited to one large toy box for each child but my older two are mostly past that toy stage now so I'm a bit more lenient with the younger ones x

Cleaning and organizing is not just a chore it's a hobby. I'm like you, I'm not going to bake a casserole, but I will vacuum under the bed, take in your recycling, scrub your shower after the sudden and unexpected loss of your relative. ❤

I actually feel the same way and did the SAME thing! You explained it so eloquently. People always tell me oh I know you don’t like people messing up your house etc. it kinda makes me feel bad because I don’t want to come across as unwelcoming. So I did the same and started doing these clean for frees as well. I heard about your channel from MidWest Magic cleaning I think. It was either him or A Beautiful Mess or Clean with Barbie ❤

I have a ton of spices too, and they all get used. The bins might be of help to your friend so she can get to the ones in the back easier, but the down side to bins is that they rarely fit your cabinets well to make good use of the space, and worse, they restrict the space in a way that becomes problematic. For instance, she probably had all her most used spices on the bottom shelf (who knows where they are now) and the most frequently used were likely in the front. If the shape/size of the basket didn't allow them to fit, it would have necessitated putting them on another shelf. And while it may look better to put all the same brand of spices together, its not practical because you may use one daily and the others only for certain recipes. I don't have a cabinet to spare for spices close to the stove, but the rack your friend has on the pantry door is what I use for spices. It has a bunch of shallow shelves so everything is visible and it holds a TON of spices. I'm not being critical and truly only trying to help. If you are being hired to reorganize, you need input by the homeowner. And if you are just doing a cleaning, its probably best to remove items one shelf at a time, clean and put it back, so you aren't creating a new issue for the homeowner who now has to take time to pull it all back out and put it back how they had it. And especially since you said she's short, she's gonna be stressed when she needs something that got put on the top shelf when she's in the middle of cooking. As far as the countertops go, I have learned that there are minimalists who want them completely bare, and maximalists who need things visible to remember they have it, and everything in between. While you may want to clear their counter, it could be detrimental to someone else to have it all out of sight. I know her issue is space and not preference, but just something else to consider. I used to help friends organize because it comes naturally to me, but I learned quickly that people are so different and what some people call "organized" is chaos to me. The only YT organizer I've seen that recognizes and accommodates peoples organizational styles is Space Maker Method. Maybe consider what questions you can ask a client that would give you a better idea of what they expect the end result to look like. I think you did a great job cleaning and I know you had to be sore after doing all of that in one day!

Instead of a lot of ASMR for when there is talking on original video....when you speed it up it sounds like high pitched squeaky mouse which isn't pleasing. If you aren't interested in doing a voice over, then maybe soft music. ❤
