What a ballsy, steely and gutsy performance from Fils especially as it looks like he been carrying an injury from the Shelton match. This is why he is so fun to watch. Some say he got lucky with Berretini retiring but I truly think he would’ve taken the 2nd set anyway as the first set was extremely close.
Also, how many players have retired against Fils this year? It’s got to be the highest. That alone tells you what a nightmare he is to play against when he is on. When he keeps his UEs low and gets his first serve in, be prepared to have the ball keep coming back and do a whole lot of running! Allez Fils!!
