💛
That model is too good. She literally hit new poses every click every 2 seconds and it's legit almost stressing me out, but we all got our own shooting pace ahah! Amazing work!
willbriss omg same I’m glad I’m not the only one lol I’d be so stressed trying not to miss something!
She was very professional, and hott.
yes and I wanted to see great facial expressions as well. If they both could slow down a little bit, results will be unbelievable.
This model really knows how to pose. Great use of the available light Julia - well done!
Ok but can we take a moment for this beautiful queen that’s getting her photos taken😍😍
Absolutely love all these shots and thank you for adding your settings to each shot.
Another great video with some awesome shots. Your image editing really is top notch and your model seemed brilliant at giving you what you wanted.
Yes I totally agree. It was simply amazing !
Thank you!
Another awesome video. Great to show how such ordinary locations can look really awesome. Also she’s the most beautiful model I’ve seen you use in your videos
Thank you 💛
She’s gorgeous
Wow, your model is brilliant and very pretty. And you are so generous to share your knowledge with the world. I never miss a post because you’re inspiring.
Thank you 💛
sua filmagem é tão boa quanto as fotos (e eu amo!!) ♥️ 🇧🇷
I love the way you interact with your models professional or not ,the directions and feedback you give them as the photos shoot advance .The result they get more and more at ease and confident their mouvement mor natural,it must be so rewarding for you.Again very inspiring JC
Thank you so much!
This model's movement is so on point.
Yes. So many people comment on how pretty she is. But look at how she changes her expression and the tilt of her head after every single camera click. She's an excellent model.
Yesss she was super amazing to work with!
I love all of your videos and bts but this just might be my favorite one. The colors, model was very easy to work with it seems, and local aesthetic of the area was just fitting.
Really cool to see this video in real time to see the actual process. Thank you!
Love the video. Your models always do so well. I love how you shot her hair. Beautiful.
Particularly liked those images by the gate and when Linnea was seated towards the end of the video 😊
Thank you! Those sitting ones at the end were my favs too :D
I love "Bali" location on 6:16 💕 Your photos are great! Thank you for videos like this ❤
Thank you so much!
My favorite thing is natural light photography, so so so much skdjskksks😍😍😍
i love her look & movement.. this was my favourite 10:29 , some great edits & love the tones
Thank you!
Beautiful photographer and beautiful model,wow
Please do a photoshoot with 18-55 mm kit lens!
I really really want this to happen.
I don't think she even has a Canon crop camera to use that lens on. It won't work on her full-frames.
Do the reverse. Tape your zoom lens to be fixed at 35 mm full-frame equivalent. Or 50 mm full-frame equivalent. Or 85 mm full frame equivalent. And go and shoot people by moving your feet around instead of using the zoom. That will also help you know what lenses you may want to get in the future.
Remember, you can set you lens to 35mm focal length and do the same shoot ... but at a higher f stop so your background will not be as blurred out. Have fun.
And if you want the background more blurred out. Set your 18 to 55 to 55. Then set your aperture to 5.6. Then don't touch the zoom. Don't touch the zoom. Don't touch the zoom. Move your feet back and forth until the person you're shooting has their shoulders and head filling the viewfinder. Then move them and you around until there's some sort of background far away. It will be blurry. The further that background is away the blurrier it will be.
Wow that back and forth between you and your model was great, it just seemed like a fun time shooting, loved it!
It was so much fun, she moved around so well! :D
Since you're a Canon shooter, thoughts on the EOS-R? :)
What an awesome chill model! Not too many of those in NYC!
Love 35 1.4 might be the best glass ever made by CANON and the best ever made of all brands! Nice pics!
Beautiful photoshoot
Showwwww beautiful pictures and a very good direction, congratulations for this incredible work Julia!
You’re so incredible! Your pictures are gorgeous ugh! ❤️
Great video and pictures. Loved the natural lighting!
Ayyy Australia's Next Top Model!
I wish every client could move like this model. Great video.
Tell me about that, my models can't even move her face... :(
Your videos really inspire and motivate me to just go out and shoot
The BGM is also super engaging!

Hi Julia, I loved the locations and interaction with the model. Your images are stunning with a film-like quality and aesthetic that I love. Beautiful work indeed.

I just got my 35mm f1.4 ii and I’m loving it, thanks for your input
Hi Julia, this video help me to learn how to adjust shutter speed according to light and that is very important so thanks for making this video and keep doing what you do you really inspire me. Best of luck.
Thanks for another awesome video Julia! 🙏🏼💕
Thank you 💛
This model is such a natural! I like the "Bali" blue door 💙 I need to do a shoot just like this. Just pick a suburb and shoot as we see. Thanks for the inspiration (as usual)

Fantastic lighting! Your images are so great! Also really love these behind the scenes videos!
On a side note, love your shirt! LA native! Woo hoo!
Thank you so much!
Great work! Very inspiring and helpful for a newbie like me. Beautiful images, well done.
I seriously Love your videos
Great video, thanks to you Julia. I saw you shoot with a very short interval between two captures. It would be kind if you tell me what are your settings about the focus mode (Single-shot AF/Continuous AF/DMF/Manual Focus) focus area (Wide/Zone/Center/Flexible Spot/Lock-on AF) , Metering mode? Do you use face detection as well? Keep making great and useful videos, thank you
Julia is so cute! Great Photoshoot ❤️
I'm learning a lot from you Julia. I notice you never give the model any kind of emotional instruction or suggestion, it's always movement and position. Is that the difference between "model" and "actress"?
I think it really depends on what kind of photoshoot you're after, I personally prefer to create with body movement, light and location rather than via emotion! Not all the time, but most of the time :) Model's also very subtly change their facial expression throughout a photoshoot, it can be hard to notice but these smaller facial expression changes are more in line with the model portfolio shots I take and what the model needs for their book.
Lovely work guys...
Can't beat swooshing arms 😀
Beautiful model.. 👏👏👏
When shooting, are you (in camera) under exposing?
Great direction. Great model. I adore your work.
Amazing video 💙
Hello Julia, I just have one question for you for now. When you shoot, I noticed your shutter speed is high and wondering are you shooting on Manual, AT or TV??
Thank you Robert
Great use of simplicity!!!!
I like that 5:24 the color in the picture is totally different with the color in the vid....haha
Nice work as usual. Thank you Julia. 😉
Thank you!
Love the behind the scenes videos!! You are the best :)
Nice!!
Can u do with male model please
Kruthin she already hasssss
@@poelogan part2
Just wondering what mode did you use on your Canon? Photos turned out nice .
Brilliant work, thanks for the inspiration, keep 'em coming............. ;)
Wow!!!
which camera and lens used in this video
wow!
You have convinced me to get the 35mm lens. I already have the 85 1.4 and I love it. You do such amazing work with the 35. :-)
Great video! Just curious if you set the shutter speed on each shot location? Or do you let camera automatically decide?
Amazing!!!
Somehow you managed to keep that sheet of paper stuck to the tree out of you photos. Or, did you clone it out?
cool, yeah cool, cool, really cool, thats so cool, what do you think? yeah cool
Hey miss do u use ND filter?
you did a great job
Great video with Awesome shots.
how do you focus so fast when she keeps moving. are you using back button focus. are you shooting in one shot or ai servo (newbie here) I take so long because I focus on her eyes and then reframe the shot so I could never keep up with her. Help!!!!
Would love to know the same!
Absolut legit question. As I could see, Julia seemed to use another focus point. Maybe the upper one instead of the center one. The reason I think it might be this way is, because I barely could see her do recomposing.
But I am not sure. This is just a guess.
In the end, I would be curious too :)
She has a video here, where Julia explains her techniques. But I’m not sure, if the has been applied here.
m.ruclips.net/video/t1eVrLjdCzA/видео.html
I have a video about how I focus here: ruclips.net/video/t1eVrLjdCzA/видео.html I select the focus point closest to the eye or face (depending if its a close up shot or full/mid body) then use one-shot to focus. I use this method for all my shoots! Hope that helps :)
Love your shirt!! Did you leave your heart in San Francisco specifically?
Great video!
Thank you
Loved this video xx
Thank you!
great video Julia.
Love the BTS!! The images shown are edited or straight out of the camera? Do you under expose for these backlit photos? Would
love to see an editing video of some of these images !!
Thank you so much! The photos in the video are all edited with my Lightroom Presets. I did a live stream going through and culling all the photos from this shoot if you want to see it on my channel! You can see what all the photos look like straight out of the camera in that video :)
I tend to avoid to go on a shoot wearing colorful clothes. The light might reflect on the model's skin and that is a pain to get rid when you're editing. 1:00 I can see clearly the yellow reflection on the model's face.
That's a nice tip. You can probably wear whites to act as an extra reflector as well.
@@Uri2097 you are totally right
Julia trotti I love you thanks
5:28 that gate was purple but after post it turns out kinda blue and rest of the photo doesn't look blueish. How??
I used HSL to change the colour :)
You’re amazing
模特真漂亮。
amazing work!! beautiful woman!! i love your BtS
Thank you :D
Great as always! Julia- do you ever edit objects out of the background, like a trash can or sign. Or do you just not use those shots?
Unless it was a really captivating portrait, then I probably just wouldn't use the shot! I've learnt over time that it's easier to just keep an eye out for those things on the day while taking photos than to remove them afterwards :D
Excuse me, are you set in a single shot or a continuous shooting, focusing and translating the composition at the center, or switching the composition at the focus, whether to use area focusing, whether to use human image mode or other modes
I use single shot focus and I move my focus point around to the models eye/face while shooting :)
Thank you
Love it hun x
AWESOME! What time of the day are you shooting this?
Idelise Rosado I got the same question lol
This was around 1pm-2pm, but in the winter so the light is much softer compared to that time in the summer!
I love your videos, they are so helpful! Could you maybe do one on posing a model with no shooting experience? Thank you so much 🙌
Check out the featured video on my channel, its a video on that topic :D
where did you leave your heart?
Love these videos! I'm trying to incorporate some of these back lighting techniques into my travel and casual photography. To make sure I'm understanding it correctly, do you basically place your subject in a shaded spot where the sun is to their back? I would assume the photographer should also make sure to stand in the shade so the sun isn't messing up the exposure too badly? I've had a hard time pulling this off - usually the face is very underexposed when I try.
Use a reflector or fill flash.
why did you change the color of the wooden fence?
It depends on the photoshoot I'm working on, but a lot of the time I prefer to "create" something rather than capturing realistic photos if that makes sense? So I like to play around with colours and editing in Lightroom! Sometimes I keep photos more simple and sometimes I just like to be more creative :)
Do you ever remove (photoshop) distracting objects from your photos, like the white box in the background of the photo at 10:29?
Only sometimes, if it's realllllly distracting. The while cupboard imo wasn't too bad so I let it be!
