I had the opportunity to see this tiny desk performance live. The way he captivated everyone in that room was like one other. Always been a fan of Scarface.
His tiny desk performance was amazing because you can tell he loves music, he made the musicians hit each note and get deep where he needed it to be

Thank you for doing this. Scarface is one of the best and is slept on for his story telling and overall lyricism. You doing this will introduce others to a great. As a Texas raised guy, we listened to this music as teenagers knowing that someone is our general vicinity was making music which allowed us to consider more possibilities. Much appreciated.

Great take, Jaron. Scarface has a very unique voice that he modulates to great effect. He was just getting started at this point in the concert; his performance of "Smile" really showed how solemn his voice can get, especially with the prayer.

Great analysis! As a teenager growing up I could not recognize nor appreciate Scarface's ability, talent or genius. We just thought his ish was hard! Now as a 52 year old, former educator, his genius wreaks volumes. Keep in mind he was a teenager when he created the joints that he performed on Tiny Desk...just mind blowing!

I’m classically trained as a vocalist and I was highly impressed by the way Face used his voice on this.
I certainly hope everyone realizes just how epic this performance was…..Major props to Face for gifting us with this one….Took us to dat other level~4Real💯
Not only gifting us with his presence but not half assing it. He could’ve easily been lackadaisical and we still would’ve eaten it up, but instead he put on a master class of lyricism, emceeing, stage presence, conveying and displaying emotion through craft.
Truly a masterpiece.
This Tiny Desk meant so much to me as a Native Texan and hip hop lover. Scarface is one of the best story tellers in music.

I think that the very first album was the set the name “Ghetto Boys” and was later changed to “Geto Boys” by the time they had attained some degree of recognition.
The BIGGEST, "BADDEST" rapper is "Face". Hands down, palms out. I'm from Texas, though. What do i know though? The many times i stole from a Stop and Go or a Shamrock as a young one. And Miss Hattie, FOR REAL, made the best rum cakes, AND was the church nurse.
