My favorite singers:
- Chris Cornell
- The Soundgarden singer
- The Audioslave singer
- The Temple Of The Dog singer
- The guy who sings "You Know My Name" (but I can't remember his name)
Chris's Cornell was the singer for audioslave and Soundgarden
Hey! They're my favorites too! They're also the lusts of my life, but that's a whole different story... :)
Don't forget the dude from chris solo career if only I can remember the name...
Alice MudGarden singer is pretty good too ;)
The guy who covered Prince's Nothing Compares 2 U was pretty okay as well.
"this is such a great song. So much better than cartoons. I HATE cartoons. They're so stupid and cheery. Life is not cheery.'
- Sage radio x gta San Andreas
JOSEPH MWAKINA I haven't heard the sages voice in years but it rang out so clear when I read this
Please, kill me. This is too much for me
Ok
Must’ve never seen Ren And Stimpy. Oh well, it’s pretty new.
Johnny cash sang it better
Let's blast that shit and the rest of the album as loud as possible today. Best way to honor your life Chris. RIP. Music never dies.
NdannsN Amen bro
NdannsN: That's an awesome idea, man. Day is almost over now. Awesome car sound system is gonna share it with the public.
NdannsN I'm losing my voice today but I don't care, it's for Chris.
Done and done. My neighbors fuckin hate me but FUCK THEM! Rock out forever Chris!
Here in Japan, I must be one of a handful of people doing that exact thing right now.
"Son, do you know how fast you were going?"
"Sorry officer, Soundgarden's Rusty Cage was on."
"Understandable, carry on."
dude this is the realist comment in the thread
For reallllll!!!
OMG I WISH! LOL FOR CHRIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
haaa awesome
seriously, I had to remove Louder than Love and BadMotorFinger from my car's rotation to keep my license. that and any pre-1984 Van Halen.
That bass though! And Cornell’s voice hits the soul wide open.
i love that little bass riff
Bass riff is amazing
Oh it be slamming bro
Hm
Ln
It's the reason I wanna play one ..idk if it's the only riff I learneded....
Thank you, 90's.
Thank you, Road Rash.
Thank you, Soundgarden.
ah my man love u to for mentioning road rash
Thank you, GTA San Andreas
goosebumps, you are 100% . Thank YOU for recognizing this.
ROAD RASH
PS1/Windows 98, Road rash, Corsair Swallow, Napa Valley = fun
The early 90's almost seemed like a 2nd renaissance of rock music - much like the impactful groups which emerged in the mid-late 60's. I feel extremely fortunate to have experienced all of this incredible music when it was fresh and new, and still have a huge appreciation for it to this day.
100% agreed…I was lucky to see Soundgarden open for GNR, then another show about a year later where Soundgarden was the headliner for the BadMotorFinger tour
Ditto
Too bad it was only a few bands. The 70s 60s and 80s were better overall.
Yes. When I first heard this song, on MTV Italy, I thought that finally someone had arrived with the sound of the old Black Sabbaths and the voice of Robert Plant's badass brother ... someone capable of sweeping away Hair Metal and post-punk / electro-pop to explain us the 70s well.
@@anthonypopa2947 the 60s and 70s sucked dick lmao. 80s underground stuff was tight but the mainstream bands also sucked.
This song is simultaneously a classic for Grunge, Alternative Metal, and Stoner Rock. It's got a groove like no other other.
And Americana... Johnny Cash covered it in his later work
Furthest thing from shitty stoner music

Chris Cornell, such a deep soul. sad to lose you from this physical plane. Our music video collaborations "Jesus Christ Pose" and "Rusty Cage" were intense and magical experiences. One of the most talented singers of all time. Thank you for sharing your visions with the universe. You have finally broken free of this rusty cage. REST IN PEACE.
Holy Crap! You got to work with him? Was he a nice guy? He seems like he would be a little on the quiet and reserved side. Man, we just keep losing them.
Wonderfully said Eric Zimmerman! Thank You! :) REST IN PEACE BROTHER CHRIS :'( And be sure to..."SAY HELLO 2 HEAVEN!"
Oh my God, it's Eric Zimmerman! You made 2 great music video! It's quite an honor to see you there. RIP Chris
Chris will be remembered and loved forever by the people who knew him and fans like me whose lives he impacted without even being aware. RIP Chris Cornell we will never forget and never stop listening to your beautiful voice ❤❤🤘🤘
Chris voice was soulful. Good description.
You know your a bad ass when Johnny Cash covers one of your songs. RIP Chris
Truth!
...and Cash's version was so cool, you know Chris was beyond proud.
Not many have had that honor. Rip Chis and Johnny

wait we talking rock or everything like pop and stuff too???
Rest in peace Chris Cornell
Chris was awsome in all those bands and in solo. Both bands were 2 of my favourites bands of alltime. They had great names (and it's rare) with significant and simple meaning (thanks to Chris) and amazing songs that sounded like no one else. I would love your input on the last video of my first album. It got the attention of one of my heroes Joe Bouchard (ex bass player founding members of Blue Öyster Cult) who is following us on Soundcloud but returns from people who likes same music is always the best. If you have just 3 minutes to listen and a bit more to comment, that would mean the world to me. Keep rockin' : ruclips.net/video/i1fVRW6z3n4/видео.html

Tom Cruise's Hair In MI2 listen to his vocals on slaves and bulldozer.
I got to see Soundgarden on the Badmotorfinger tour and a few other tours of theirs. Rest In Peace/Rest In Power, Chris Cornell. So saddening.
Dude Soundgarden, Alice, Nirvana, Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, Depeche Mode, Tool, NIN, etc all existed at the same time. The early 90’s were some pivotal years in rock.

@@marvinnashwheresmyear the 90s were awesome, no mobile phones at gigs, guitar bands tearing it up. Good times.
Bruh, 2000s was still popular for grunge rock music, it wasn't until 2010s when pop became more popular.
Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Audioslave and THAT voice. Thanks Chris Cornell. RIP.
I was like yeah soundgarden! Then man the man died...

@@MrSwimmerGod Yeah, I think most people who grew up on Soundgarden & Temple of the Dog wouldn't consider Audioslave on par with the other two. The whole EP Sap is fantastic.

It's hard to call a band like soundgarden "underrated". But I think they are a much more important band then people realize.
They are. You can hear their influence in a lot of bands.
Absolutely. Their influence on current indie rock is massive.

When the forest burns along the road
Like God's eyes in my headlights
When the dogs are looking for their bones
And it's raining icepicks on your steel shore
[Chorus]
Well, I'm gonna break
I'm gonna break my
I'm gonna break my rusty cage and run
Well, I'm gonna break
I'm gonna break my
I'm gonna break my rusty cage

RIP Chris Cornell 1964 - 2017
He was the ultimate tenor, Pavarotti didn't have shit on him.
Heard this song first as a kid in Road Rash. It then became a faint memory. 20 years pass by and recently started playing GTA SA and this came up on the radio. As soon as I heard the first riff I had a Road Rash flashback. Brilliant songs and sweet memories go hand in hand 🎵❤️
Same, it brings back so many memories, getting kicked off my bike, getting busted, winning, losing. Always tried stealing the cop's bike but to no avail.
@@keirboyko Haha I remember trying that!
First time i heard soundgarden and kid rock on road rash game was ground breaking
When you got Johnny Cash do a cover of your song, You know it's Fucking Great!
I remember when this song clip aired on MTV (Back when it was still a Music Channel...Sigh!) , i was instantly hooked on and then 1 or 2 weeks later ,and a few dozen times listening to it ;-) ,i bought my first SG LP.
R.I.P. Chris Cornell - So sad today...
He was the voice of grunge.
We didn't use that term back then, it was always considered to be by fans just a labeling of the music industry journalists, to make a hype of a good revival of Hard and Heavy Rock sound. Btw i' m from Greece
So great he has Fans from Greece even!! much love
Well Soundgarden , Nirvana, Pearl Jam , Sonic Youth , Pixies etc. were quite popular in Greece and throughout Europe in the 90's.
Though at first i was very excited when Audioslave formed with ex members from Rage Against The Machine (Another favorite band of mine) i was a bit disappointed by the outcome...
Manpet Epetrop I feel you back in the early 90's America had the best bands because in the early 90's the UK sucked for music. And it was not till,Nirvana and Alice and Chains & Soundgarden and Pearl Jam came along.Music came alive again and now music sucks more than ever, those days are long gone and never coming back.
R.I.P Chris.

Best singer rip and respect
Chris Cornell just has that soulful voice and every instrument is top tier. My favorite is they had such a tight sound too- Badmotorfinger is the epitome of grunge for me.
Agree 100%. I was in my early 20s when all the grunge stuff came out, so I've been listening from the start. Still listening 30+ years later and have had a long time to reflect on the whole era. They were all great in their own way and gave a proper voice to us gen X'ers. Nirvana were probably the most consequential, but Soundgarden are the band I listen to the most and don't get sick of. Many happy memories of being young and partying our asses off to this awesome music!
Kurt Cobain and Eddie Vedder were the media darlings, but Chris Cornell and Layne Staley were the real voices that put Seattle on the map and made Grunge hold up so well. Two of the all time best singers in rock history, and they emerged at the same time, from the same place. Incredible.
Britton Thompson I love all four, for me in order its PJ, SG, AIC , Nirvana ... but I still totally agree with your statement , Chris and Layne were the better frontmen as well as exceptional vocalists✅👍
Don't forget about Scott Weiland. STP was a bridge between the ballad's of the 60's and grunge.
It's okay to be amazed of all four. A special time, special people. Drugs, media, depression, and Courtney Killin em softly. Too sad
You are funny.
Absolutely with out a doubt !!!!!!! No one can belt out notes like Chris

This song just kicks so much ass!! The guitar riffs, the bass, the percussion and Chris Cornell's voice...total musical perfection I will say!! Happy to have been a teenager in the 90's when music was really amazing...so many great bands back then did not suck but kept us all rocking!!
Crazy to think he used to be the drummer. Yet can shred on guitar and kill it on vocals too.

Oh yeah?
Are you joking the mainstream in gaylifornia loves soft music, hip hop, and rap crap and abunch of numbnuts
This song is so ridiculously good. I'm a drummer and you can nerd out on counting beats, but what's weird is most of it is 4/4. The phrasing makes it feel like it should be 6 beats, but they add an extra 2. And the placement of Matt's fills are so weird. This is how 4/4 time becomes mindblowing.
Hey, I know your post is 6 months old, but can you walk me through that? I always wondered why the timing felt weird (and cool) in this song. Explain like I’m a 5 year old crappy guitar player. I can barely recognize time signatures.
The whole thing is straight from outer space. It’s been 30 years and I still haven’t gotten it right. You really need a whole band, and everyone on point, to make it come to life.
Pretty much everything that's really mind bending is in 4/4.... ie meshuggah - Bleed
@@jamesnoland3445 Do your own research, weakness.
@@jamesnoland3445 So you count 1 2 3 4 on one hand, and count 1 2 3 4 5 6 on the other hand. Boom. Now you understand 6/4 timing, kinda.

No internet ... remember watching and listening to this and Nirvana smells like teen spirit and just going wtf. Never seen or heard anything like it before. Truly a great decade for alternative rock. Then you started to slowly uncover the the whole Seattle scene with AIC Pearl Jam temple of the dog etc. As a teenager back then it was just incredible... Singles movie and the soundtrack. Memories
Hearing this at 15. Mind blown in 1991. Still blown today
I used to sit in my room and just listen to music, really listen. Does anyone really do that anymore?
I was 18 and fronting a band, it was so hard to come from lancashire UK and resist the urge to imitate the Seattle guys. I absolutely loved it when we did a cover version and i got to pretend. I even had a 1973 Guild S100 like Kim uses. Man nostalgia is so bitter sweet.

and playing it while singing makes it 10x harderಠ_ಠ
kim thayil is so nasty on the guitar man, love soundgarden tuning too bro!
@@ibnufasya6408 Yea I play bass. I can play it at about 85% speed with 90% accuracy, singing? CHRIS HOW?!
That’s the difference between a lead guitarist and a rhythm guitarists. Rhythm guitarists never get their due credit.
I'd definitely consider myself a rhythm guitarist as my soloing skills are not great (the only more difficult stuff I can do is some more advanced tapping techniques, and some string skipping legato type stuff ) and I learned this song pretty quickly. It's just an absolutely fun riff to play to me.
I think it was easy for me because a lot of riffs I write have a lot of legato and pull offs in them.
I don't know if that made it any easier for me to play this song, but I fucking love it, It's fun as hell to play.

R.I.P. Chris Cornell. Eddie Vedder is now the only frontman left out of the Seattle Grunge Band era. I'm very sad now.
Mark Lanegan, Screaming Trees???
Obviously there were other instrumental groups from Seattle. What I mean is the 4 most successful bands from that scene.
what about the guy who started the whole thing.....neil young?
neil young isn't grunge.

Rip Chris Cornell, one of the best voices of the 90's.
One of the best rock & roll voices and bands of all time girl...
YES, 1 of the BEST of ALL TIME-CHRIS!!!!👽
Man I would dare to say he had the best voice VS all musicians that ever existed. Seeing him live was... It just was... I have no words to describe the power he released into the air like 2 eagles fucking in the moonlight. ( I am not going to acknowledge any hate comments. He was the best that's it. End of story.)
OMG haha 😂
Adriana Zavaleta what about Kurt Cobain?
This is THE rocking track of this band. It’s like their own « paranoid ». Their greatest riff ever.
I'm the man in the box...

Fantastic version. One of my favorite Soundgarden tracks. I’m gonna break my rusty cage💪🏼🧡🇺🇸
Man, Kim Thayal goes off in this jam. Hes severely underrated.
Rest in peace, Mr. Cornell. You will live forever through your music.
R.I.P Chris. You were part of the soundtrack of my life growing up. Your voice was incredible. Now you sing with the angels.
