Arkitek, I had been advocating Rainwater Collection, and I had been studying this for siguro 3 or 4 years na.
This is a very good idea, but first let me address yung about maging mandatory. I agree with you, hindi siya dapat mandatory. But, if we look at other countries, I learned, they have a table matching the size of household to cubic meter or volume of consumption. Pero, this is NOT mandatory. Their way of promoting rainwater collection is through estate tax rebates. So, in short, not only ang government ang sasagot nito para saiyo through equity ng house mo, nagaappreciate pa ang assessed value ng property mo. So, sa kanila, for example in Ontario, Canada, you go to your city council and propose na gusto mo magpagawa ng rainwater collection system.
Plus, hindi importante sa kanila kung drinkable ang collection mo, means no need to filter. You just need to catch and collect it, that's it. Gagamitin mo siya pandilig for example, or carwash, or just cleaning the house. Iba pa rin yung iinumin. If you want to go to the extent na maging drinkable siya, it's up to you. Then, you need a filter, and as you pointed out, maintenance.
    Again, hindi siya dapat mandatory.
Ang nakikita ko, sobrang demanding naman ng Pasig Govt na gawing mandatory ito, na wala man lang tax rebate or increase in assessed value o kahit ano man.
Pero, I think this is a good idea. Sana, isama pa nila yung greenroof.
Pero hindi mandatory. Promote it through tax rebates and home equities.

@@arkitekjon arkitek, Also, some have learned na hindi pwede gumamit ng lead pipes or GI water tanks kasi medyo mas corrosive ang rainwater kasi slightly acidic siya. That means, you might need a special pump for that also.
Eto yung "system" na nabanggit niyo. It's a whole different world dealing with rainwater.

Dapat nyan ay may minimum building area halimbawa 100 sq.m. and below di kasali, pag above 100 pwd na lagyan ng rainwater harvesting.

Architect John, salute to you, Architect Ver Kahanding if you can remember nagkasabayan tayo sa TIP.

sewer will handle this rainwater (generally a
pure water) which is unquantifiable, like typhoon ondoy downpour. making a system for this rw collection in a residential house category seems to be intricate.

Sabi dun sa napanood kong video to replenish the underground water.

Hello Ar. Jon. Isa ako sa mga subscribers mo. Here in Davao city matagal na required sa lahat ng occupancy type ang RWHS.
As fellow archi, I was really hoping to hear more support on this matter from you. 😅✌.
This requirement will give us lots of benefits like lesser water run-offs causing floods, lesser water bill since pwede mo syang gamitin pang flush, pandilig, car wash, etc.
•Practicality - kaya naman mareturn ang cost in a few years from water savings.
-pwede by gravity nalang para walang pumps; pwede recycled food grade drums na may angle bars na frames para cheaper and uses less area since pwedeng patong2 lang.
Can we support this kind of ordinances and come up with practical solutions instead?

I do agree with your given points. Dont get me wrong, personally ako gusto ko yan. pero kgaya ng sabi ko, MAS inclined ako na collective ang approach dito sa mga tight areas instead of individual based sa sitwasyon ng bawat area. ung cost madaling gawan ng paraan pero ung ibng factors na binanggit ko, yun ang mejo may challenge.
