What a fantastic idea to build a mini water park for the kids in the local area. I am sure that even those earning 300baht a day could afford 80baht a week for their children to come here. I like the way your mind works Ryan, always looking ahead. As you say retirement is not just about lounging about all day doing nothing it is about living and enjoying life while you still can, whatever that might be! Little ventures like this also help to intefrate you with the locals. God bless you all, and keep thinking 🙂❤🙏
Thank you Ryan, that was so much fun to watch. The kids were having fun and the whole place is amazing! The owner definitely made her dream come true. I'm sure this will be fun times for you, Damo and the kids too!!! Enjoy! 😃💖💫🙏💦☀🌡
Absolutely more than happy to give all the kids everything they need with my monthly donation. Couldn't be happier brother! You're doing an awesome job!
Great video Ryan. Love to see how people are making money in Thailand. Might have to tell my son about this. He wishes he could live in Thailand with his Thai wife.
Lovely ad informative. There is a place almost exactly like this in Ayutthaya owned by a Swedish and Thai. Couple. It gets busy with locals. It’s a retirement or escape for the husband who was tired of traveling back to Sweden for work. Great idea.
Hello Ryan and Damo!! Good to see you guys again. It was a great idea to make this water park. Everyone is having fun. I'm planning to move to Thailand, have my Thai wife, and enjoy the life like you do. Awesome video. Stay healthy 🙏
I think this peng nitnoi. We visit some place similar, 50 baht swimming, 30 bht togs. Shop for kanom and drinks icecreams etc and usual hotdogs and samtams. Not swimming dont pay entrance fee. B4 covid swimming was only 30 bht. Her market is village kids and teenagers and during holidays it should be so full the water not safe to get in lol. To put into perspective the large water slide park with wave pool and beacn also band stage (Dino Park) in Khon kaen is only 200 bht, b4 and after covid. These places are all struggling at the moment.
Seen a couple of the little swimming pool places pop up east of Korat recently. Went to one last Aug and wife tells me another one has recently opened as well, I think they are a great idea.
I asked the wife at the time to ask how much, It was a good size pool and I think all in, pool, filtration, tiling and non slip around it and a big slide it was c1 million baht.
They made one of these where I live in Chiang Mai also. Seems very popular with the kids but they're not fit for adults. Very good idea and I'm surprised they're just doing this considering how hot it is here. We've had these in America for decades even though they're only useful for a few months in summer.
Heartwarming to see your and Damo’s generosity towards the community children. Best way to live. Give, and it will be given to you. Get where your coming from, wife's friends grow spring onions got big order and because when wife was younger picked spring onions so can do fast, they asked if she could help. Went there with her, they had a simple bamboo hut in the middle of nature view was amazing, got me thinking would people prefer to live in a decent house in a city or wake up every day in the middle of nature with a great view
I just realized that I'm using too much electricity lol. They are able to maintain the home, family and everything (pumps, lights etc.) for the pool for $292. My town house in Koh Samui cost me about this much for the month of April for only 2 people! 😂 Love seeing this type of video Ryan. I really do see a lot of Thais extending or converting parts of their home to run a little business.
Hello!! New sub here. I really liike your attittude. I wiish a lot of people be contented on living simple and not rely on too much material stuffs they own.
Not weird at all man! I am exactly the same. We got our land and when we start building our house, our plans are to add some other elements as well so we are self sufficient as far as possible. And something my wife like to do and she can do even without me. But mainly, the covid lockdowns really showed us that you have to plan ahead properly and be as off grid as possible and not be dependent on anyone else, especially government.
Really interesting video. It’s a frightening thought to set up something in the middle of no where. Your positivity makes things possible. I agree it difficult to sit and do nothing when you retire and there is a need to think of novel way. I do think the negativity of some Thais sometimes get in the way. My wife’s family always speak bad about her when she tries to do something positive. They knocked her when she started selling second hand clothes but didn’t recognise that her profits fed them. Then when see came to the uk to work for 10 years they said I was going to sell her! I love to hear and see your views on rural life.
Wife runs a noodles restaurant, got recipe unique to the area from lady who has restaurant at the back of her daughter's boyfriend's parents house, cooks others meals to. Have bought land and building house and resort on it and restaurant be there to. Also have land going to make for fishing and growing vegetables and fruits and keeping chickens etc. Just taking so long was ment to be finished end of last year, hopefully will make virtually self sufficient when all eventually comes together
Great flog again, I enjoyed it. Yes.. hope/wish for the best, prepare for the worse. And for all expats: never invest more then you are able to walk away from. I used to write "willing and able"... The willing obviously will be difficult and painful if you invested a lot, like Rayan and Damo. But this is Thailand and anything can happen. Visa's might not be extended or cancelled for some strange reason... Crazy things do happen here, and you might get caught up in something crazy... So it might be needed to leave everything behind. Hope for the best, prepare for the worse.👍👍🙏☮️

And like you if we want to go the pool we go the local resort now and again, and this pays on in to the local economy, its like a money go round, as the pool owners may be buying my mango/chicken or other produce.
