- Deborah Ann "Debbie" Gibson (born August 31, 1970), is an American singer-songwriter who was a teen pop icon. She was popular in the late 1980s and the early 1990s. At the age of seventeen, Gibson was the youngest person to write, produce, and perform a Billboard Hot 100 #1 hit single (in the USA) with her song "Foolish Beat," a title that is now shared with rapper Soulja Boy.
She appeared repeatedly on the covers of teen magazines (in the USA) such as Tiger Beat. She has gone on to starring roles on Broadway and touring musicals, as well as independent film and television work. She continues to record, and reached the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart as high as #24 during 2006 in a duet with Jordan Knight titled "Say Goodbye." Видеоклипы
Who's still listening 2024/04/07
Eu, hoje 15 de julho de 2024. Dia frio em SP, Brasil!
Best performance ever 🫡
Who's still there 2024?
Debbie Gibson still holds the record for being the youngest person to write, produce and perform this number one hit at only 17 years old. Legendary stuff. 🎉
No half naked people on stage and more importantly no autotune just a girl a singer and a song writer and pure talent that is so hard to find these days
and an excellent musician. I didnt know she can play the piano that way. Wonderful artist.
Agree
I doubt it's hard, in fact everything is easier to find these days. it's just not what they're looking for (in mainstream) music. if you want that in modern music. look. You'll find it. (not mainstream)
🤦🏽♂you realize the vocals were re-recorded in a professional studio so all the mistakes that humans make when singing live were erased, yes? standard operating procedure in the music business
@@javtimestwo That did not happen in this case. That's her regular performance. she did it over and over again. Its how she sounded.
We need more sax in today's music.
In 1988 I took my daughter to her first concert when she was 9. The tickets cost $20 each and I only had $40. We were standing in line, hoping to get last minute tickets to get in,when a lady came up to us and gave me two tickets close to the stage.
So I then had money to buy my daughter a T-shirt ,some pop and candy. Debbie Gibson was only 17 at the time and it was a fantastic show. The last song was ' Foolish Beat' and she rose up from under the stage playing a white piano. A cherished memory. 🤗
I went in 1987 ! I was 12 ticket yes 20 $ I still have the ticket 🎟 I keep them all it was my first concert ill never forget it !!
That voice…. I think she was my first crush in the 80s 😍
Mine too.
This song has aged for the last 35 years. What a live performance x❤❤🎉🫶
Taylor Swift will never be this good, Taylor uses Auto tune, which was not around this time ☝️☝️☝️😎😎😎😎😎
She worked so hard in the 80/90s they pushed her hard never got the respect of many pop stars but I love this stuff she was my teen crush I think I had 10 posters and a Lamborghini poster as well 🤣
Most satisfying Sax solo ever 🙌
That crowd is damn lucky that they got to witness such a performance live !! Those lyrics, that music, that melodic voice !!
Can't get enough of it.
I was super lucky to see it live! Will never forget it!
Lucky the one's that attended this concert.
One of the best live performances, in my opinion 😊
such an AMAZING SMILE @1:33 💗
Her voice is better than recording in studio and the reason in my opinion is from her talent and she has a way to do it so perfect that makes you feel beautifull. This is the blessings of living in the 80s and i am blessed hearing this wonderfull talent playing vinyls all night long
Absolute brilliant!!!! Debbie Gibson is a classic example of why the 80s rocked. I feel so honored to know that I grew up as teen in the 80s when her music came out. A wonderful wonderful wonderful time to grow up with her music.

A time when only actual talents can get you up a stage🎉🥳🎉
Thank you for showing how it’s supposed to be done - and not meant to be imitated or repeated again, Debbie Gibson 💕💕💕
The 80s were on point with music.

no one can match debbie talent on this day shes a legendary female singer ,all i can hear and see is perfect.
I just a kid when this song released 😊
Now and again, whenever I want to remind myself of what live performance perfection looks like, I come back to watch this video.
The epitome of talent.
BEYOND FANTASTIC.
There's something magical about 1988, I was only 9 and it's probably the first year I really started taking a major interest in music which of course stays with me to this day.
This live version is superb. The fact that she wrote and produced her music at such a young age is just a further testament to her incredible talent.
The entire decade was full of magic. Wish I could go back.
Starchild?
I was 23 and I can say it was a special time. Everything looked so much better than today.
i was Debbie age ..she is so talented
I get chills when the beat drops! One of my favorite songs ever!
I got to meet Debbie a few years ago and She's a real sweetheart in every sense of the word.
She is wonderful
her live version is the same with the studio version, what a great voice, awesome!
This live version is my favorite, not just for the song itself, but also because it features her saxophonist, Adam Tese!! He was my favorite of her band members back in the day and I had such a crush on him!!!
I had the privilige of seeing this the day it broadcasted. I managed to recorded on my vcr. It was the first best quality vcr recordongs I had yet seeing, became a legend within my friends asking me to copy vcr to vcr this video.
I'm still in love with old musics..❤️❤️❤️
Love this Version of Foolish!!! Even in 2019! Still is Awesome to watch

Que música lindíssima. Só quem conhece o significado da palavra música, irá curtir e dar um like. Que perfeição. É tocada até hj na Antena 1. Por isso curto muito essa rádio, me faz voltar ao tempo. ❤❤❤

When I listened to Debbie Gibson's songs as a middle school student, I sometimes remember being passionate, excited, and sometimes calm🥰 Even after thirty years have passed, I feel like the feelings of those days are revived😍
Talented girl/lady.....love her music back then and I still do🎶🎹🎷
when i was a kid it was easy to dismiss debbie as a simple pop star but watching this shows how strong her talent is
Still classic and awesome indeed. Debbie has been a very talented artist and forever.
I haven’t heard a voice same as her up to this date. It’s just so beautiful
Those times she was so good! She was the one who wrote and composed her songs. The one who played too. She was like 17 yrs old. She is really that good!
I'm BLOWN AWAY .... And in tears, She has an unexpected powerful voice !!! WOW !!!!
She s so talented great live singer
Pure talents on display here, ranging from the saxophonist and the rest of the band - plus the gorgeous singer ❤❤❤
The arrangement of the song in the beginning is a ghostbump
Best of the Best...
Love you Debbie
I loved Debbie Gibson from the very beginning. Saw her perform live at a small dance club in Cleveland, OH I think in 1986 or 87. I even got to meet and talk with her and her mom afterward. Still have a picture of Debbie with me and a buddy. A couple years later she was huge and saw her at Blossom Music Center near Akron. My friends and I had front row seats. This was before cellphone cameras were a thing and taking pictures at concerts was forbidden. I smuggled a disposable camera into the concert duct taped to my leg. Took a bunch of pics during the concert until security saw me and confiscated the camera. Lol, I am still sore about that 🙂
I love the way you sing debbie
Your # 1filipino fan...Gerald Creer
Sincerely friends, we live in such a sad and difficult time, that when I see videos like this, of this beautiful and brilliant singer called Debbie Gibson, among many others, then I travel until the 80's, I close my eyes and I travel, and I want to go falling asleep, falling asleep .... until I don't wake up more, how sad I am and how much I miss this time so golden, so beautiful, as was the 80's and 90's. I miss my god...😪😔💖
That actually rocked! Amazing!! What a talented woman!
She was 18 here
I love this song so much
I was born year 1988 and without knowing that this song was absolute brilliant that year.
This girl is so amazing..she was only 19yrs old that time.
Actually, she had just turned 18 at the time. What a great talented girl !!!
Her birthday is August 31,1970. She turned 18 in 1988 and this performance was 2 weeks after her 18th birthday
I'm 53 now and still love this song
Cuando en esa generacion... la cantante no usaba ropa diminuta ni autotune...solo talento. Excelente cantante
Loved her music , good old days
I love it 🤗🤗🤗🤗👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
One of the 80's songs that i love to sing! Debbie you're the best.😍
I'm a Millenial but I super duper love Debbie and this type of songs😍😍!! Oh those were the Golden Age of Music!
Hope there's still some songs just like this in our Era. 😥
Debbie is well know for her hat as being a signature. Loved it!
Que delicia de música, que voz,que harmonia nos instrumentos...pode repetir centenas de vezes que não enjoa.... ouço desde a adolescência e até hoje faz sucesso....música linda....que backing vocal...tudo lindooooooo...
Debbie is my favorite and my female idol, she so talented,
2020 awesome music and real talent ❤️❤️❤️
It is amazing that someone of this age could write a song with the lyrical content of this one, let alone the melody and everything else, a truely astonishing feat that sounds the same as it did when I heard this as a young teenager. This particular performance is just pure class, its a simple performance with nowhere to run and limited technology to save her if she goes wrong (which she doesn't).
GREAT summary!!!!
Im a 90s kid. But I love Debbie and Tiffany since then
Oh wow. This is terrific! Real music!!!! Ahhhh, the '80s!
What a talent.. i loved Debbie Gibson.. miss those days..
I will always be a fan of Debbie Gibson. Still enjoying her music, knowing that she wrote them herself, composed and produced them at a very young age.
Amoooooooooooo linda linda linda linda amo bendita amooooo maaaraaaviiilhhoooosaaaaa linda amo.
Always love and listen your song Debbie🥰
Esse saxofone maravilhoso !!!
Excelente... 🎷 👍🏻
Who knew the prior to the 2000's touring musicians actually sang and played their instruments live? LOL Debbie nails this and a real pro -- remember she just turned 18 year old the month prior. Bravo!

i never thought that the singer of this song was young at that time .omg what a talent 😲i am millenial but i love 80's music compare to what i have in my generation. 80's has so much feeling in their music .
Sooo true..
The 80s had such a different vibe !! Cool and elegant at the same time.
Oh yeah the 80s were TOTALLY AWESOME. I grew up as a teen during that time. The music was just brilliant. Yes your absolutely right, today's misic doesn't hold a candle to the 80s.
Debbie wrote, performed & produced her own music & was only a teen when she created all of this. The 80's was a unique time for real creative artist & real talent.
@@Nova_Avalon, absolutely brilliant time. No decade is history can hold a candle to the music of the 80s.
Pure talent 🥰 I miss those days...
Man, that sax goes right through me. Great stuff. Forgot what a great song this was and still is.

I'm in love with young Debbie Gibson. Wow. She is just amazing.
this was so perfect :(
Só uma palavra, impressionante 😱😍👏🏻🇧🇷
Imagine 16 year olds today doing this kind of music what kind of world we will have.. 16 year old teenagers still lacks experience yet can write songs like this during those times 💓💓
They makes music on their computers now. No time to learn a real instrument.
Tintin Michaelis Taylor Swift has talent.
They go on Tik Tok
JoJo had was a way stronger singer at even 13
@@Nova_Avalon that's why it was better then they were more ambitious without computers or phones
