Eric, you inspired me to buy a “new” to me frame and build it up with most of my exiting components. I realized I’m a 27.5” guy because I love jumping and getting air and playing around on my MTB and not being so serious about pedaling efficiency. I got a transition scout frame for a decent price on pinkbike with a dropper and got a new cheap fork that fit it and transferred the rest of the components off my old bike to the new one and it rocks!! I love that you are just making fun bikes to ride without spending a GAZILLION dollars!
I was 100% sure the last thing you were going to add to the bike was your ass on the saddle pedaling out of frame. Because that's a sick bike deserving of nothing less than full gas riding multiple times per week. Congrats on the really functional and fun build! Was the bike a little noisy before you tightened the headset? I don't know. I didn't notice because I don't really give a shit about that. Bikes are for riding not for listening. You riding gets me stoked to ride. You working on your bike gets me (relatively) stoked to work on my bike. You throwing tricks makes me want to drive 5 hours to a bike park to go hit some jumps. We'll see if I can fit that into my schedule! I, too, am tired of "dream builds." I'd rather ride a bike than dream about it. I'm personally committing a serious bike faux pas with my non-color-matching-tires. Do I care? Nope. Mullet setups burn through rear tires a little faster and I'm not about to discard a perfectly good-un up front just to color match the text with the more-recently-acquired rear tire. Bikes are fun! Thanks for another awesome video!
I feel like there’s a little something bubbling just below the surface here. And I now feel bad for busting your chops about the chain slap in an older video. Apologies.
The bike looks sweet. The unfortunate fact is that you need to put $ into used bike to keep them on the trail. There is no "cheap" way to ride mtb, if you actually push your bikes to their capabilities and ride often. The Status is one of the best deals$ for a capable bike on the market.

The seat swap really brought the whole build together. Also props for the DF quote, words to live by.
I’ve always lived that line, but felt so seen when I heard him first say it haha
Glad your back at it!! I have missed tinker Tuesdays!
Much better than before, no longer looking like bein' an uncomplete build😎
Needs more tape
Spindatt, cool video keep it up bro
Mmmmmm... more catharsis. Me happy. Bike good.
Beauty of a build. Solid paint work, too. Good job, Bud!
Rock Shox use to have the U-Turn adjustable travel forks. 80-135mm with the twist of a dial.
I have an electrical tape chain stay protector that was made out of necessity at a bike park one weekend and just kind of hung around.
Do you still have your elite carbon wheels?
bike rips ! love the downtube painting haha
You gotta come ride in Bentonville. That bike is perfect for around here.
Happy you're back! I was wondering if I accidentally unsubscribed from your channel at some point

Sometimes you need to listen. Like how he heard a loose headset.
@@johndef5075 I was exaggerating for funsies. I absolutely listen to make sure my bike isn't getting too wonky.
"This is the absolute worst Specialized Status build you will ever see."
You have my attention....!
Sick van Halen bike

Bro help will a 700D wheel fit a 650b tire?
Ummm no
@@TheBassman396 it’s only 3mm difference isn’t that within wheel mfg tolerance?
If you mean the old gt standard then yes if you mean a 29" then no
@@Hydun thanks I’m searching and seems like they’ll fit.
Yeah I’m rebuilding a 91 quatrefoil
And it’s proving annoying af at times.
@@SkycladWanderer a650b is 27.5 a 700d is a 29er
