Making bad content is better for your growth than making good content ever will be.

  • If the hardest part to any worthwhile endeavor is getting started, then the only thing that matters in the beginning is actually getting started.
I intend to prove that through practice. Theory stands strongest when it's tested through application.
The first goal for new content creators should be to create content. Quality matters less than commitment and consistency.
No matter what your starting point is, if you commit to your grind, you WILL get better over time, and you WILL see results.
The only difference between people who succeed and people who don't, is the amount of actions taken in alignment with their goals.
If you want to succeed on youtube, then you are required to upload to youtube.
You are not required to make good content. You are required to make content. The desire to improve should come natural to you. The discipline to upload despite how you think your imperfect content will be perceived is a skill learned over time. That desire to improve paired with your new catalog of uploaded videos will lead you to ways to improve along the way, and you WILL see results so long as you keep on going.
RUclips is not as mysterious as it seems.
If you don't believe me, then keep a tab on me and my channel throughout this year.
I will be acting on the principles I'm sharing here, and showing what happens when I do.
Goal is to upload 30 videos in March, and earn 1,000 subscribers by the end of the year.
    Let's see who wins.

My 3 biggest videos as a new content maker are
    1. Extremely high effort, 50+ hour video
    2. More emotional than actual effort, attempting to be a better person
    3. Laziest thing ever

The way you are looking to the script and trying to cut that parts is beautiful

I didn’t mind being shown on screen reading the script, I was mostly cutting out space between talking points. Felt appropriate to leave it in for this particular case 😂

As the day progresses, the duration gets longer. How would you do a 30 minutes video at the end of this?? It sounds kinda insane to me unless you planned it out long beforehand.

I came up with this idea the night before I put up my first video and I don’t even know what I’m going to post for tomorrow yet. So I’m looking forward to see what I can come up with just as much as anyone else following along with this series 😂

Great message! Some constructive criticism on your edit, leave some space between reading (before you start reading your next line so you start saying it once youre already looking at the camera) so that when you cut its not so obvious that your head isn't looking at the down on one frame and jerking up on the next frame. Imo, the ideal would be to have you head be in a similar position throughout the edit even if you have to pause to read throughout the video and are obviously cutting. It's just less visually jarring.

I appreciate the feedback! It was an intentional decision for this video though to drive the point of bad content home.
I’ve found that one of the harder aspects to learn when making videos like these is making eye contact with the camera while trying to remember what you’re supposed to say, and it’s one of the challenges that has stopped me from uploading in the past (not just on this channel either). So in the spirit of “just uploading” I decided to forego that particular piece of friction and upload anyway.
That said, this is a great example of feedback I wouldn’t receive if I didn’t post in the first place. If someone who doesn’t know this tactic posted the same way I did, this might be the first time that they even heard of this information, and it could be something they start working into their videos as a result
