Under Japanese law, if a company makes a worker take time off due to company circumstances, they must pay a leave allowance of at least 60% of the worker's average daily wage, unless it's due to a natural disaster or other force majeure events. Don't just accept it-make sure to go to the Labor Standards Inspection Office and file a complaint. It would be better to go with someone who understands Japanese. The company might be taking advantage of the fact that you're a foreigner and assume you don't know the law. As a Japanese person, I apologize for that.
Really? That's impossible. Under Japanese law, every worker has an employment contract, and the company cannot fire someone on the spot, even part-time workers. It's a different story if it's a case of property damage, embezzlement, or causing harm to the company. If it really happened, the company is in the wrong, and if you report it to the Labor Standards Inspection Office, you can get compensation.
Unless you did something wrong, You wouldn't be "fired" on the spot in Japan, Because employees have to inform you to lose your job one month in advance or they have to pay one month's salary if they lay off you on the spot. If you didn't do anything wrong, You should go to a Labour standard inspection office !
In that case, you're fine. In Japan, it's illegal for a company to unilaterally give an individual long-term leave. Go file a complaint with the Labor Standards Inspection Office. You can get compensation.
I'm sorry to hear that, but don't give up, don't let negative thoughts affect you. You can and will find another opportunity. I wish you good luck and be brave.
If you are still looking for job, try those restaurants like Peter Luger, Benjamin, Wolfgang etc. or Hotels. They do hire someone who can speak English or other foreign languages fluently for tourists. You don't need to worry about your Japanese at all. You'll learn. So, keep it up mate!
Why don't you try working for 7 eleven and blog your daily experience or find another job and use that as a content at the same time, I'm really curious how is the experience working for Japan specially for convenience stores or other stores, though I've seen lots of videos like day in a life of x! Hope you could also shed light to that!
Let’s go to the Labor Standards Inspection Office, near your home! 👍You can consult there. Unilateral dismissal is prohibited in Japan. Unless there is a good reason.
In your previous video, you mentioned you reduced your working hours to prevent being miserable. Could that be part of the reason they fired you? Regardless, you'll have more new opportunities in the future. Keep fighting!
Hey. What a sad and bad way to handle things, especially if you're used to german/european worker protection systems... Hope you find a way to stay positive and afloat! It's a little far fetched, but you could maybe try to reach out to other people with more experience and connections there and ask if they could help pointing you in the direction something new. Chris Broad, or the management of all the Trash Taste guys comes to mind.
what the heII?!?!?! is that possible? (for what i'm reading it's illegal to fire someone so suddenly) i hope you can find something soon girl! you seem a nice person so you won't have problems! :) good luck
@@flactera oh i see that... they were smart >:( anyway i hope you can find something else, from what i understood by cheking some of your videos you worked in a restaurant so you have experience with that! :D (again) wishing u good luck :)
If you were dismissed due to taking a 4-month vacation, even as a part-time employee, this would be illegal under Japanese law. The only exception would be if you were not in an employment relationship with the company and were instead classified as a "self-employed contractor." What were the terms of your employment when you were working there? Of course, others have mentioned that the best course of action is to consult with the Labor Standards Inspection Office, though disputes like these can take time to resolve. If you were terminated without just cause despite being on a part-time contract, it would suggest that the company is a "black company." Unfortunately, there is also the concern that such companies may unfairly delay matters until your visa expires. In any case, I recommend discussing with your partner whether to report this to the authorities or focus on finding a new job.
I'm very angry. The sudden unemployment of entering Japan on a regular visa is clearly malicious. Your knowledge of design and digital gadgets contributes to Japan. Used Japanese products are in very good condition, so I think it is possible to sell them to collectors on eBay or facebook. Don't lose to Japanese idiots. Increase your income with your sensibility and take away your work visa.
I have a feeling a working/holiday visa might work differently than the standard working visa. The working visa the company sponsors you but, on a working/holiday is not sponsored and has an expiration date and you can't renew it. I am probably wrong about this.
yeah working holiday is not tight to a working place or employment status. it is issued to you for one year and you can only apply once in a life time. so i can still keep my visa!
I wouldnt say it gives a bad impression of Japan. Stuff like that can happen all the time, if a company if overstaffed and has no work. If it was legal to fire here on the same day is another story ofc.

How long do you get the 60% pay for? Til you find another job, or?

So sad they fired you like this 😓
Hopefully you find new opportunities soon 🤞🏻
I'm sorry to hear that, but don't give up, don't let negative thoughts affect you. You can and will find another opportunity. I wish you good luck and be brave.

i reduced it one or two months ago and they didn’t have a problem with that!
We’re all rooting for you! Sending positive vibes only. Sometimes you have to fight for your dream, you will win.

thank you!!
