Like most reviewers on this thread, I found the i210 to be much softer feeling. Love the looks of the I500, but ended up with the i210s because of that softer feel. BTW, I’m a slower swinger than you, and I did not find the gapping to be a problem at all. Really like your reviews!
You think i500 feels soft? Wow I certainly beg to differ....i500 has a definitive CLACK with that hollow body construction and no elastomer.... to each their own but I'm enjoying this i210 over previous i20/i25/i200.....could also be shaft choice.....I'm to hit awt 2.0
I always felt some harshness going through the shaft when hitting i500, even when hit perfectly in the dead center. Not only did they feel harsh, they did also sound louder. When I tried i200, all the harshness went away. I did not even feel anything in my hands when I hit the ball. Also the sound was much duller. (Feel and sound are different things in my mind) I don’t care much for sound but I do care how the club feels. I also did not like spin numbers on i500. The spin was lower than what I like.
Nice review Ali, it would be useful to have a little info from you regarding the spec of the clubs you are hitting, i.e. shaft type & weight, shaft length and loft & lie angles. Perhaps you could put the info in a pop-up box during your intro.
I’ve hit both extensively and for me the i210 is better feeling and just an overall better iron. Honestly, it’s the best iron I’ve ever hit and I hit everything p790, Titleist irons mizuno....
Been playing the g25s for about 5 years and they are great clubs but I’m looking for more of a better players iron. I love Ping clubs so would investing in the 210s be an ideal step up?
do you ever do iron reviews hitting form turf rather than mats. How would a 7 iron spin change when hitting from a mat compared to fairway. I would guess it would be fairly drastic change.
I can test off grass at Old Links, but spin should be no difference, all down to strike. My poor strike is slightly out of the toe which will reduce the spin.
they certainly do some excellent stuff. As always I suppose that the quality of the Mat and strike have to be factored into the results, but TXG`s results were pretty conclusive. With outside testing on grass you also have the issue of moisture being trapped between the Ball and the club face, (which has a significant effect of reducing the spin that is imparted onto the Ball). I was at TXG`s Toronto HQ last week doing a full Bag fitting and the Back spin that I was getting from the Wedges I was trying was pretty impressive, so I can certainly vouch for their mats.
yeah i'm getting the impression that its not the actual mat that affects spin, but those who hit off bad or thin mats which cause you to change your swing. if a think mat encourages less down and through at impact you may start to pick the ball or shallow out the swing and taking spin off. i guess it comes down to quality of the mat so it doesn't change how a player may swing through impact compared to actual turf.
So 7 iron goes 170 and PW goes 130. That leaves 40 yards to gap with the 8 and the 9. Do you feel like that is too much and is that a common issue with the new 'distance irons' that have strong lofts?
That's a great pick up Scott, I was watching another reviewer who had that same thought/issue. I do agree with you, 40 yds is a pretty large margin for 2 irons to cover

I210 definitely softer feeling than i500. Better sounding too
I210 is 10 times softer than the I500.

Lawrence Williams most of the reviewers who compared the I210 and I500 said they felt the I210 was softer
Can't stand the sound the 500 makes on strikes
I500 isn't soft at all it's harsh and clicky

I have tested both, and you are the first guy who finds i500 softer?

If you hit them better.
Can you review the Miura CB 501 irons?
If I can get hold of them, I'm happy to review them.
Ali’s the only guy on earth that found the i500 softer than the i210. The i210’s are miles softer, the i500’s feel horribly hard off the face
Sorry if I missed it. Which shafts did you test with? Thanks.
Project X LZ 6.0
Are you going to test the Cobra KING Forged Tec Black Irons?
Would you like me to?
How did the I210 compare to the I200? Softer feel or the same?
I thought they felt very similar, maybe a little softer but not much at all.
Much softer, phenomenal club!

TXG did a test recently comparing spin numbers hitting from mats and then grass, with 5, 7 and wedges basically there was no difference.
gotcha. i'll have to check it out. they do really good videos. Trackman put out a study showing the opposite, that mats reduced spin by over 1000rpm

Could go with the retro lofts to keep the distances closer together.
You've been watching another reviewer???? I almost feel cheated on. 😂😂
haha... If I based my decisions only off someone who hit it in the middle of the face... I might be in trouble :D
Is that me or that other reviewer?
you're high if you think i500 is softer
I have to politely disagree I didn’t find the 500 all
That soft and thought this club felt
Miles better
I500 softer😬😬😬
You are the only person I heard saying i500 feels softer then 210. Interesting
That is because they are forged so they must feel softer, according to the popular propaganda.
Not as soft as i500? Lol
