I will always point out that Celine NEVER “Americanised” her voice. You can always hear her accent when she sings, and I love it.

When she first entered the music scene in Canada she could not speak English fluently. All her recordings up until the late 80's early 90's were in French. She is without a doubt Quebecois - from her speech right through her mannerisms.

@AmpEdition Whaaat. Her whole vocal placement when she sings expresses her accent. A lot of French is through the nose, and you can hear a lot of that in her singing, not even counting her pronounciation of certain words.

Meatloaf wanted to record this song for YEARS but couldn't for one reason or another. He always thought it would sound incredible as a duet. It wasn't until a decade later he finally got to record it with a singer named Marion Raven. Y'all should check out that version on your own time. Jim Steinman always told Meat Loaf that its a woman’s song, and he actually went to court to block him from doing the song, and he then gave it to Celine. This was during one of those rifts Jim and Meat had, but they sorted it and Meat recorded the duet for Bat III. And while I love Celine’s version, I do prefer Meat’s variant. He just knows how to hit the emotional motherlode Jim threads through his songs.
