They sang this years ago on the Oscars and it was like God was singing!!!
I wish this song won the Oscar for best original song. It was from the animated film "Quest For Camelot". It's one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard and am tearing up typing this. This song got ROBBED! Whitney and Mariah sang well on "When You Believe" (forgot the name of the film it was from, knew it was animated). It's a pretty song but doesn't move me like "The Prayer" did. The Oscars in 1999 were pretty screwed up ( "Saving Private Ryan" losing Best Picture over "Shakespeare In Love"). Ugh!!! Andrea Bocelli is amazing and is on my bucket list of artists to see in concert.
Andrea Bocelli had glaucoma at birth, but went completely blind at age 12. He is amazing in concert, I’ve seen him twice. He’s also several duos with Sarah Brightman, Ed Sheeran and others. He’s had numerous albums and is an amazing opera singer. He has been touring lately with his son and daughter, who is 11 or 12. Would love to hear more Bocelli.

Guys, watch this same song with Celine and Josh Groban. They sang it a a special on CBS special several years ago. Apparently this is partly how Josh got discovered. He had to step in for a rehearsal that Andrea had to miss. Celine tells the story. Great video!

This is from Bocelli's concert in Central Park on September 15, 2011. Other guests were Tony Bennett, Chris Botti, Bryn Terfel and Pretty Yende. An amazing night of music spanning a variety of musical genres. Highly recommended. ❤❤❤

Andrea Bocelli and Ed Sheeran singing Perfect Symphony together is stunning. They do it at Andrea's home and Andrea's wife and sons are there. It's in English and Italian (with Ed also singing in Italian too). It will give you chills! 😊 The admiration and awe on Ed's face watching Andrea sing is so sweet

Celine and Andrea are great but now let Sissel and Josh Groban take you home with their singing this at the Nobel Award ceremony... Let the woman originally signed to sing the theme from Titanic take you away. Sissel still did all the background vocals for Titanic because she'd recorded them before the producers decided they wanted someone with more name recognition here in the States. Celine doesn't even TRY to hit the notes Sissel does.

I envy you that this is the first time you are hearing this song. It hits me in the feels every time I hear it. So many people have covered it. There is a video out there from Celine Dion and Josh Groban that is stunning. There is a version performed by David Archuleta and Nathan Pacheco that makes me cry. It's the first time I heard 2 males sing it.

I don't think you have ever reacted to my favorite Celine Dion song "All by myself" Its the song that made me a fan of her. I had no idea who she was early 90's. A friend was listening to her and I asked who that was. They said "Hold On!" and qued that song and let it play. The Album version was my first so its absolutely my favorite. I'm 57 now, Marine, Cowboy and Country raised. Not much gets to me. That song puts me in tears. God Bless Y'all.. Great video.

Andrea Bocelli also has a wonderful duet with Sarah Brightman called "Con Te Partiro / Time To Say Goodbye", and one with Ed Sheeran called "Perfect Symphony" where Ed adapted his hit song. He had a big worldwide hit with a song called "Miserere" (Mis-eh-rare-ee) based on Psalm 51; he also does a fantastic duet with Italian blues rocker Zucchero on this song.

SO SO thrilled that you both liked the song! The first time I saw them sing this was on TV, when they performed it on the Grammys, and it was STUNNING. When they hit that big note, and then the orchestra stops at the same time they do, it's complete silence and it feels like the music is echoing throughout the room, and then they sing that final phrase with that gorgeous final note... I burst into tears. I was totally unprepared for how beautiful I found that duet. It was like my body could not contain my emotions in that moment. I just couldn't help but weep, I thought it was so beautiful. It's one of my favorite Celine songs, for sure, and Andrea is amazing too.

ONLY when he is singing the more spiritual Christmas carols though, I think. THEN - it captures the TRUE meaning of Christmas - you just feel it in your soul. I was quite disappointed in his trying to do songs like Frosty the Snowman, was it? His voice is meant for the more beautiful songs with drawn out notes I think. Just my opinion though.

The way these two transferred energy to perfect this performance…it was palpable in MSG …a night I will never forget…almost the entire audience (at least where we were sitting;) was teary eyed in wonderment.

Oh i thought you’d done Andrea Bocelli with Delta Goodrem. Delta’s tone is liquid gold. Everything they did together is worth checking out. This was lovely though, I just find Celines tone a little harsh at times.

He IS the greatest opera singer in my opinion. Not only does he have a great voice (& a beautiful warm depth to it), he puts so much FEELING into it. There are other opera singers with very good voices, but it seems like they are just singing WORDS & they don't put any emotion or heart into it. (At least the famous ones I have heard.) Maybe there are other great ones out there I just haven't heard. (Quite possible.)

PEOPLE, HAVE & EXPRESS EMOTIONS! - If you DON'T express any emotion, you are nothing but a cardboard cutout that can be moved about a scene but with little purpose or interest from anyone - because people are bored pretty easily with 1-dimensional characters. No actor in movies or the theatre would ever survive if this was the philosophy they held - because nobody would want to watch them.
I am not saying that this is your fault. I am sure that this is what your director wants & maybe BOTH of you were taught this craziness in your training - which I would have to therefore say was faulted if this is the case. (There are good people & bad people in all professions & anybody that might have taught you & your director this is - well - "faulted".) I am sorry that this is what your director wants. The whole opera would be greatly improved if it didn't rely solely on good voices but on the "whole picture." That being said, I hope that you enjoy your profession. That is always a satisfying thing in life.
@@Spo-Dee-O-Dee I have seen both movie & stage actors that have stolen the show with just 1 line - because of the way they delivered it & the personality they were able to inject. Everybody would talk about it for a very long time afterwards & it has even "made" some of them. Just something to think about.
