After Cloud meets Tifa in the Sector 7 slums and Tifa shows him his little appartment, when he meets his 'neighbor' during the night, I laughed and screamed FINALLY, when Cloud pulls his sword out and gets it caught in the doorway. They finally put a little wink wink in there to show it's ridiculous.
I really wanna see this
Being mid chapter 3 i've just seen that cutscene today lol this remake is a love letter to ffvii fans
Know what's more ridiculous... taking that sword into the air ducts!
Sounded more like "tink tink" to me
That clunk was hilarous!
I came back to see this beautiful video in honor of the greatest video game of the generation, final fantasy 7 rebirth! Thanks for your time odin in making these, they really are inspirational. You make these projects look so easy and are simple to follow and its truly amazing. Thanks so much!
Suggestion related to this episode:
Barret's Gun Arm.
This next step is going to hurt...
//Prepares to amputate arm.
That actually shoots.
@@davidczarco I like the way you think
Barrett new gun-arm is awesome
@@rykrostheguitarist Simp
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the talent of this guy. My god what a beautiful job.
like smosh says. he's the man
everyone: Cloud's sword
people who've heard about Crisis Core: Zack's sword
people who've played Crisis Core more then once: Angeal's sword
Cloud left the original on that cliff area near where Zack died in AC which is why he has a different style buster. I'm not sure if he did that as early as FF7 though. It would explain why he would have 3 versions. I always thought after the mako poisoning bit in FF7 when he remembered stuff correctly he put Angeal's>Zack's sword there then got the replacement and then sometime between FF7 and AC he got the fusion sword. I don't get why he had a completely different style of buster at the start of FF7.
Jarhara *Angeal’s honor
It baffles me how many people will never know the feels from crisis core
isnt the sword from angel´s grandfather?
@@natenate1999 I think angeal said it was a gift it's been a long time since I've played my psp lmao
First time viewer- this sparked a lot of joy.
I can't get over how massive the finished product is! Well done!
I mean, the actual Buster Sword is the size of a small human.
Man I love this, it looks so great!
Just remember what Angeal said: "Use brings about wear, tear, and rust"
DON'T ATTACK MY FEELS
"you're a little more important then my sword. But just a little"
@@JarharaJaiArik ma'am I'm gonna have to ask you to sign a permission slip before you go on a feels trip

I've only seen ONE game with giant swords acknowledge how impractical that is for indoor fighting, and that was "Berserk: Gut's Rage" on the dreamcast. The blade has environmental collision, and there is at least one part where you're in a hallway and literally CANNOT use the sword
It happens briefly in ff7 remake.
Does it? GOOD! I have not played, only watched the trailers. Looks like an amazing game. I have always loved the FFVII art.
there was a Michelle Yeoh movie that had a similar scene(I don't remember the name at the moment) The villain had a long spear or something and she tricks him into following her into a stables, where there's not enough room to use the spear allowing her to get in close with a pair of short swords.
Early in FF7R, there's a scene where Cloud goes to draw his sword but can't because he's in a doorway and his overhead draw bumps the sword in the door frame. That detail made me rather happy to see.
@@OdinMakes You should play FF7 when you get the chance--it's fun! Personally, I also enjoyed FF8 and FF12, and thought 9 and 10 weren't bad either.
Your comment on using it indoors being a struggle is actually kinda funny cuz theres a scene in the remake where he freaked out in a doorway and tries to pull it out but bonks it on the top of the steel door frame.
Awesome! I would love to see that!
This was absolutely amazing! The detail you put into making this accurate to the remake is incredible.
Thank you very much!
@@OdinMakes You're very welcome! Thank you for making this! I may probably attempt to do this using the video as a reference when I get the materials, your video was a lot of fun to watch! Honestly, I've seen it about 3 times now. You put so much energy into your videos it's incredible!
I got to hand it to Odin the amount of dedication and precision to get it exactly right is awesome
Just a shout out of appreciation for how you detail the preparation, laying out the template, thinking through supports and thicknesses etc. I always struggle to plan properly when I make a prop or the like and seeing you work always gives me a better idea of the kind of questions I should ask before actually starting. Thanks!
Wow, it looks exactly like a real metal blade. Some of your best dry brushing work yet. I also liked seeing a bit of how you approach problems in your projects and compromising where needed. Really shows how every creative project takes creative solutions
Thank you!
Here are some projects you could look into:
1- Alucards sword from Castelvania lord of shadows
2- Alistor from Devil May Cry 1
3- The Sparda sword from Devil May Cry 1 or 5
4- Xehonorts No Name Keyblade
You make them like they are in the movies. Everything you make comes out perfect. I respect your work so much
The poster board thing is pure genius. Was seriously impressed with how simple it is but how well it worked.
Also, Master Sword next please.
Matthew Silver I’m actually really surprised he hasn’t made the Master Sword yet!
@@pokepwned Probably waiting until the next Zelda game comes out and hoping for a sponsor from Nintendo.
Watching you make the Buster Blade was the highlight of my day. Cloud is my third favorite Final Fantasy character and 7 was the game that introduced me to Final Fantasy.
You should make the Monado after Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition comes out!
Yeah! And I don't know if he can get the materials or if he has them, but he can make some lights that would surround around the area where the Monado Art symbols, with each light of each symbol and maybe also have a makeshift switch or something that would prompt the different colors by a press by the finger. Might take a while though.
@@Aleotfier It would be so worth it if he did! Or maybe he could make a Monado III with translucent acrylic. That would be dope as heck.
@@RadiantBeachShulk He could build Zanza's dual Monados too with similar methods if he wanted to go ham on the Xenobade series.
YEESSSS
Yes
So cool that you include the patterns. Not that I will ever build this, but I am sure that made a lot of people very happy.
I wonder if there'd be a practical way to fit some magnets inside it without tearing the foam apart so that you could hook it to your back like they do in the games
I've seen one way where there are foam plugs that are a little bigger than the two materia holes and those plugs are attached to a back holster so you can just pop the sword on your back by the holes!
I just love his demeanor. He seems like such a chill dude to hang out with!
There really needs to be some glowy balls in the materia slots there...
Thank god for people like you. This is beautiful work.
I’d love to see you tackle Squall’s Gunblade or Lobot’s headpiece
Yes the gunblade
Yeah! Gunblade was my favorite ff weapon!
I second that
Looks amazing! I really admire people like you who are so handy.
14:01, “video game physics are weird”, they sure are
ive been watching your videos for a while now and I've always thought all your foam cutting and build were perfect but as I watched a little more closely I can see not everythings perfect and there's many imperfections in your builds but still turned out really stunning. this really tells me that it doesn't have to be as perfect as the reference and just try to make it as good as possible. this really encourage me to create props even if its small more simpler props.
Odin: "Look at my awesome sword!!"
*Michael J. "Crocodile" Dundee has left the chat*
Now *THAT'S* a sword!
i remember a while ago i watched a video of Michael Cuthulu making cloud's buster sword out of metal,it was heavy looking and awesome and i love this prop odin, great work !
How am I just finding out about this man?
RUclips algorithm: _Hi._
I never thought i'd see 2 textured sides get glued together so cleanly like that, nor use multiple sheets glued together to create one seemeless long peice. definitly gave me some confidence for some future builds!
would love to see how you might tackle a hidden blade from assassins creed one day!
Damn some of the materials you mentioned my dad has it on the garage. I might copy and make my own Buster Sword.
Edit: Fixed my broken english a little
I’m currently working on making my own using your plans and instructions. Its going really well and looks really cool!
I'd love to see a cosplayer swing thay around like the victory pose
I don't know how I ended up on this video, but I ended up watching start to finish. Dude is charming and that sword is gorgeous.
I am sure you have heard this already 1000 times, but the "C" in CPVC stands for Chlorinated, not Compact. It's what makes it potable, or usable for drinking water. Standard PVC leaches chemicals into water, but CPVC is safe for drinking. Stupid rant, sorry. The sword turned out great!
Hawk Worley the C in CPVC means the pipe can handle high temps, 200°F versus PVC is 140°. PVC schedule 40 is potable rated so your reply above isn’t fully accurate.
CPVC stands for Chlorinated PolyVinyl Chloride.
Hawk Worley correct but the “C” in front doesn’t make it potable. The C makes it more flexible because the design capacity is 200°F rated.
All PVC is safe for the transport and use of potable water.
I’m glad someone else decided to be that guy, cause if no one else did, I was going to. Lol good game bro
So glad I found this. I want to make one of these for a photoshoot I'm planning. I'm also thinking about heating up the PVC and flattening it between a couple 2x4s rather than using the thinner pipe. Just gotta leave a little at the end where it needs to connect.
"How much foam do you need for the sword?"
Odin: "Yes"
I have built one of my own actually, having a big inspiration from your build! It was my first time making anything like this, and it was super fun! Thanks for your guidance Odin
How about some historical weapons, like a falcata, hunga munga, kopis or a polearm?
This was posted on my birthday. One of my favorite birthday gifts.
Could you make the original doom guy helmet
Dude - you are amazing - and this buster sword is incredible!
Some ideas
Railgun from Resident Evil 3
Crucible from DOOM ETERNAL
Gipsy Danger chainsword(Pacific Rim)
Samus Aran Cannon
Zero's Z saber from Megaman X
Gaster Blaster from Undertale
I 1 up all of this
Samus' Arm Cannon was made over at DIY Prop Shop if you wanna check it out
LVBBoi Genos from one punch man.... not good?
yes to all of this
@@radiant9230 Also, now that I see You, A Hollow Knight mask/helmet would be cool too
This js wizardry, I'm amazed, wow. Never thought about how much effort is put into these props.
Amazing work!
For the release of Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, you should make the Monado.
First video I’ve seen of yours. I love how it looks like you genuinely enjoy making these fandom props. It looks great
12:50 Doug Dimmadome owner of the Dimmsdale Dimmadome. The same Dimmsdale Dimmadome where they're showing Crash Nebula?
This might be my Favorite Episode ever. from DIY Prop Shop to now. OMG Love it!!!
No even better YANG'S Ember Celica shotgun gauntlets
Odin...what a fitting name. Really liking that Soul Edge behind you. Nice work!
I haven't even watched this but I already love it.
Plus I also use inkscape! Its so useful.
Okay. So. I just finished it...damn do I wanna make my own, although you could have technically cheated and put the orbs in the holes so you don't have to do the fancy frame work haha
I am a new user for Inkscape. I am really liking it.
@@OdinMakes I started using it not too long ago myself, I made a master sword template and a stone mask from jojo template recently
I have no idea what this man is even talking about, but I like the video.
Wouldn’t it be a bit more structurally sound if the “box” ran down the whole length of the blade
Yes and no, one big box would not be as solid as thst small box, but with enough forth-to-back direction rungs (think ladder) it would be hella sturdy.
@@GundamReviver it could possibly add extra weight to the blade, which Odin was obviously trying to avoid. Pros and cons to both ways as I see it. Do you want the blade lighter, or sturdier?
@@zephyrstrife4668 I think you're exactly right. The extra weight would put more stress on the weakest point of the internal structure, where the handle junctions with the square.
Im impressed that you did the Buster Sword BEFORE the Master Sword. Great build either way!
"Most of the materials I picked up loca... Oh wait.. 🤔"
Looks awesome!
Lol hardware stores are still open for some people
Well I know what channel I'm watching for the rest of the day!! Nice work!!
Now _that’s_ what I call a BFS*!
* - Big F***ing Sword!
Nice Doom reference....
This is so amazing it looks just like the actual buster sword and the fusion sword looks like the actual fusion sword too.
Odin you should make Dark Magicians Staff from yugioh
Hell yea
I'd love to see that one
Dude I would love to see that made.
Gay
Great build. Cloud is my favorite character.
Hey,Odin! I have a feeling you might not read this, but you should try make the robot hand from
Terminator:Judgement Day
Or try make the motherboard-chip thingy in the terminator's head.
This is prefect timing! I got a material orb from a launch party and started to make a Buster Sword to display it in. I was using the packaging from the vinyl and the sword from the figure that came with the game as a reference! This makes things so much easier!! Thanks!!
Ruby Rose scythe/sniper from RWBY
Incredible, such skill, such talent. Keep up the good work sir.
Make Maul's lightsaber from season 7 of the Clone Wars
first time watching one of your videos. very impressive. I particularly appreciate the fact that you show your workflow despite it not working its initial attempt. Props to you being an FF7 fan too :D
Make anubis stand from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusader
first time I see your channel and I subscribed. thanks for the patterns you have no idea how happy I am
Odin: 6ft
Me: Those are rookie numbers
HA! Whip out your Sephiroth sword then why don't you? :)
@@OdinMakes please make Sephiroth's sword next😁
Odin makes another one of my bucket list weapons. And it's awesome!!!
Awesome build! The buster sword looks great, and it was really cool to see it along with the fusion sword.
All i can say is WOW! Amazing work.
Oh wow this was one of the best videos I’ve ever seen on youtube
That’s officially gorgeous. Like, legitimately gorgeous.
Ahhh
Underrated why??
This mr.creative deserve more subs.
Love this tutorial video of a buster Sword replica. Thanks for this
Odin, you are a God. Pun intended. This is EXACTLY what I needed! Thank you for all of your awesome videos.
Thank you!
Always amazes me how metal you make foam look
Dude, that's fantastic! Awesome work, I'm glad you enjoyed doing it!
What a great maker channel to stumble across, great work and production on the props and videos. Host's voice sounding a lot like Kevin Conroy doesn't hurt either. Cheers!
Wonderful work sir! Smart move of you to provide all those links with the quarantine going on. Stuff like this is fun to do when everyone is stuck at home. Love the message at the end about how it's up to you to decide the materials. I'm thinking that I'm gonna try to make mine out of cardboard. Keep up the great work!
the blooper was the best much love Odin
Mate you got some real skills. Huge respect!
You are amazing Odin!! Keep up the excellent work and craftsmanship
that Soul Edge in the background is gnarly as hell
Im so glad i found your channel i love watching these videos
Daaaaaammmnnn.... who needs to buy expensive replicas if you can build them, right!? Love seeing 2 of my favorite swords in real life! Great job!
Nice.
I actually own a real life steel buster sword and I appreciate the detail and effort in this design.
Well done
So fun fact, the Buster Sword (Original FFVII Canon version with the yellow guard and red handle) might not be as heavy as you think. Both Zack and Angeal were both capable of lifting it in near death states. Sure, they are infused with mako but in a near death state they'd be at least regular human level or lower strength wise. It'd just be a pain to move around due to size, probably why Hojo didn't take it from Zack. Zack seemed to have no trouble lifting it, after gaining the Buster Sword after switching from a SOLDIER-issued longsword. Cloud seemed to only show trouble lifting it because he was finally able to move his body after waking up from a poisoned state, giving him trouble moving.
Wow looks great you did a good job Oden.
You are so crafty and smart! Love it!
Oh god, now I've got an image in my head of making one of those swords out of wood and literally using it as a coffee table. That would be one hell of a conversation starter.
Wouldn't it? Make the handle pop out, maybe twist lock? That way you can push it in and not trip over it.
@@OdinMakes Probably smart. I imagine it'd be one hell of a shin hazard without that.
thank you for reuploading the fusion sword pattern!
had a hard time finding it
I've been dreaming of this build! Thank you!
Thanks again. Now I can make my own buster sword. I'll start with Zack first. Love your videos. Keep up the good work Oden.
Superb work! I'm just planning my own build so those templates will be a God-send! Now to see if I can find the materials in the UK. Thank you.
This looks awesome. You have many great ideas
