Astounding progress! I do have a question, however. Why was 4070’s #3 driver set removed when the frame problem is between the #1 set and the cylinders? Was it an issue with the main drivers themselves or a different frame issue that’s been resolved?
I can't wait for you to finish GTW#4070 .Her last mainline run was from my hometown of Pontiac,Michigan.I grew up 3 miles from the roundhouse. I can see GTW 6325,4070 and the Rock and roll hall of fame all in the same trip.GTWHS member #95.
This engine made a lot of people happy it had some of the best engineers running it I worked firing this till 1990
Learned something new from car #62. Great update.
No criticism intended at all so do not read into my comment - 4070 has it's priority and it is what it is. At least there is progress.
Good luck in your restoration of the 4070. We hope to see it back soon.
great update
Awesome work. i am glad to see more old trains getting rebuilt. Just subbed your channel.

The main driver were removed to have work done on them. They are in storage for now.
@@midwestrailway Thank you for the clarification. Wish you all the best of luck with her

Are there any plans to eventually have the two NKP coaches Amtrak certified, be that in the near future or further away?
It would be a long ways away to do that so much things would have to be added to the cars to do that.
@@midwestrailway Ah. Thanks for the answer.
What if 4070 was part of the southern steam program in the 70s and 80s
No it was not during that time it ran on the Cuyahoga valley national Park
@@midwestrailway ok imagine nickel plate road 765 and 4070 doubleheadead on the Cuyahoga valley?
@@midwestrailway or 4070 doubleheading with 587
So what’s the future with 4070?
