Those who didn't hear the sound of a power cut were lucky, because it scared me more than once! :) But regarding future updates: in the developers' blog you can find a mention of a possible quest related to connecting electricity (it is assumed that the power plant will be protected by bandits)
I heard this for the first time in my last playthrough, me: "da fuck was that?" and went in to my temp base to notice my power wasn't working. "Ohhhhh", its eerie as hell tho.
0:01 I've literally suffered this in my previous game when I was inside of the warehouse/workshop in muldraugh (the north-east, close to the bar and the farmhouse, by the road connecting to westpoint) and It made me scare the shit out of me. Now let's see when and how it will be with my new run. (Btw, prev one got ruined with a mod of windows being randomly broken and barricated mod activated by accident, as there is no way to repair taller windows, I wanted to leave it. I was living in the bank near fossoil. Now I'm in riverside living in the restaurant in the middle part of the city, with at the sides the VHS shop, liquor and the therapist. The building is an entire L shape but reversed upside down. Probably moving in the future if I keep this match or else)
Me and my friends were planning on a big trip in the car to the other side of the map. My friend walks out of the base saying "Let me get some extra gas" (which was literally 10 meters from our base). AS SOON as she said that, the power went out. I've been DYING to hear this sound in game, and finally this was the moment we heard 00:39 in-game... guess what. My character is hard of hearing, so I barely heard it 😭
It'd be cool to be able to switch on the streetlights when you are electricity 10 and mechanics or metalworking 10, I'd love to have lights in the streets on my long-term runs.
I have just reached the month of survival (from the 11th day I sat in a barricaded house and pumped strength and fitness, simultaneously removing alcoholic and smoker from dynamic traits mod). On the 22nd day I heard the very first of these sounds Although I was in a partially cleared area away from civilization, where there were only a few houses (south of riverside), the shutdown gave rise to some kind of anxiety and a sense of threat to me. It's as if zombies, even without being nearby, are gradually bringing your end closer
holyshit I have played this game for over twelve hundred hours and I am always at my house when the power finally goes out, but one time I swear to God I heard some weird laser sound and now I finally know what it was
Wouldnt it be awesome if you got like the highest level in one or multiple of the skills and could restart the electricity network? Atleast for like a specific town or something
It's more then just that, there's transformers that have shutoffs that trigger during highs and lows; during extreme power sags it could set the entire system into a very hard to restart mode; where there is a lot of resistance on the ends and little ability to overwhelm that resistance to generate enough power to prevent constant sags. You'd be restarting a lot of EV transformers, and hoping that there aren't enough lights on and fridges powered. There is also no localized power plant in the game; we have a few heavy industries and factories, but nothing that's a power plant. So we can make a "Theoretical" plant. Using tech from "Way back then" means it'd be oil or coal. *That requires a huge amount of infrastructure to set-up* from extraction and processing to delivering it. That ends there. It would be neat to have this plant to be able to see *how long you have* until the end of all electricity, and if you could *cut off unneeded areas* to boost the lifecycle of the plant.
Yeah would be cool if you could then shut off other areas or cities and have power focused on a specific area or something. Considering they are adding machines and stuff to the game it just seems like a neat idea@@EddieSpaghetti69

whats crazy about this is that you can only hear all of these once and only when youre paying attention. Ive never heard of these because i keep babbling in multiplayer. I wish some of these distant sounds were longer ans boomier so they couldve had more of an effect.
Those who didn't hear the sound of a power cut were lucky, because it scared me more than once! :)
But regarding future updates: in the developers' blog you can find a mention of a possible quest related to connecting electricity (it is assumed that the power plant will be protected by bandits)
At this point you know it will be hard
Such a sad game honestly
I heard this for the first time in my last playthrough, me: "da fuck was that?" and went in to my temp base to notice my power wasn't working. "Ohhhhh", its eerie as hell tho.
close building are so satisfying
Horse. (cavalo in spanish and portuguese)
Indeed my man
if only i lived long enough to hear such things. im just not patient enough to stay safe and live that long
I remember hearing this for the first time thinking... OK this is over now...
This was terrifying the first time I heard it
i didnt even know there were sounds for this. I usually try to turn on the lights one morning and go "god dammit"
you can hear it while you sleep
Probably moving in the future if I keep this match or else)
hope you changed your tighty (not so) whiteys
Everybody gangsta untill you hear
Tan tan tee tan,
Tan tee tan tee tan,
Tan tan tee tan, tan tan tee tan
the distant_block ones sound like muffled explosions far away
Hands down these scare me alot more than hearing a house alarm or car alarm
Me and my friends were planning on a big trip in the car to the other side of the map. My friend walks out of the base saying "Let me get some extra gas" (which was literally 10 meters from our base). AS SOON as she said that, the power went out.
I've been DYING to hear this sound in game, and finally this was the moment we heard 00:39 in-game... guess what. My character is hard of hearing, so I barely heard it 😭
It'd be cool to be able to switch on the streetlights when you are electricity 10 and mechanics or metalworking 10, I'd love to have lights in the streets on my long-term runs.
A bundle of scariest sounds in the game...
I can already smell all the food rotting in my fridge
-Should obtain that generator earlier :-/
I have just reached the month of survival (from the 11th day I sat in a barricaded house and pumped strength and fitness, simultaneously removing alcoholic and smoker from dynamic traits mod). On the 22nd day I heard the very first of these sounds
Although I was in a partially cleared area away from civilization, where there were only a few houses (south of riverside), the shutdown gave rise to some kind of anxiety and a sense of threat to me. It's as if zombies, even without being nearby, are gradually bringing your end closer
Im usually inside when it happens, guess yhsts why i havent heard the world ones lol
Damn, I didn’t finish watching live and living, I almost pumped up construction,
I remember one playthrough where the power shutdown a few seconds after starting 😅
*Theodore March intensifies* 🐻
”Theodore” 💀💀💀
I think if I heard any of these out of nowhere, especially the distant ones, I'd be pretty scared.
0:18 laser gun sounds

imagine you survive for 20 years just to die of radiation. i assume since nobody maintains the nuclair powerplants its just a ticking bomb
Che, subí una guía de los mods de snake, con loquendo si es necesario :D
Usted se me hace conocido de algún lado… jajaja
holyshit I have played this game for over twelve hundred hours and I am always at my house when the power finally goes out, but one time I swear to God I heard some weird laser sound and now I finally know what it was
Wouldnt it be awesome if you got like the highest level in one or multiple of the skills and could restart the electricity network?
@@L0xi3 well, the game does let you have power after it shuts off via generators powered by fuel
God I just heard that sound while reading in my base and was scared af, realised what happened just a few minutes later xD Lucky it was 1 day after I found the generator-book hehe
Me paso en el dia 12 de una partida, estaba agotado, apenas me habia escapado de zombies, era de noche, y justo cuando me detengo en una casa para reponer fuerzas antes de continuar, escucho 0:07
It would be so cool if you would be able to drive to any electrical building and bring the electricity back
245 Ingame Days and 355h of playing after hearing this.... Roby Johnson is still alive but the ,,zombies respawn,, setting, couple months ago are the biggest mistake in my life....
Imagine being in big city like L.A or New York after the outbreak and boom dark forever.
I have experienced the elec. Going down, but never heard that sound
whenever i hear these i get so much anxiety i need to take a break
I hope this is the sound I hear when I die.
I remenber being with a friend in the rosewood firefighter building and on only the 5th day water and electricity shat down . We where so fckd
I find it sad that I have never actually experienced this😅 I’ve been playing the game singleplayer a lot but i always end up dying and then i just create new saves and i also played a lot with my brother and we have gotten to like 7-8 months but he plays the game when im not there so he always got to experience the electricity shutting off when i wasnt there😂
This is how the end of civilization sounds.
My first ever playthrough i lost electricity and water first night.. didn't know how "lucky" i got since it was my first playthrough.
i heard this sound in game and was wondering what it was, then i went to my fridge, wasnt happy to find out what it was
First time hearing this panic mode activated. You cant believe how panic i am because i have shitton of perishable food
I have almost 1k I’m hours played and I’ve only heard it once. It always shuts off when I’m asleep
Sounds like I’m watching the walking dead opening
Once everything is shut off your demise will begin
Tf? I've never heard any of this, and I've survived around 3 months
you probably slept through it.
@@cavalo7657 oh, maybe it's that
i think ive heard the interior one once, maybe. scared the fucking shit out of me, and once i realized what actually happened, it scared me a hundred times more. How the fuck was i supposed to stay warm? Get gas?? WATCH TV???!?!
i love zomboid. probably the greatest zombie outbreak game out there. nothing else will even come close to mimicking what this game is capable of
0:06 when you look away from the screen for a second and hear this little shit O_O
thank u for collecting these
Bruh I never even notice these sounds cause I keep sleeping through the event.
Didn't know this game had directed energy weapons lmao.
"that was fast"
I didn't know there was a sound effect for it, most of the time the electricity shuts down when i am sleeping.
