This is such a fun channel!!! Discovered a few months ago and I always take away at least 3-4 books from your vids to my TBR😂😂 bye bye being able to concentrate at my corporate job and hello day dreaming reading all day🥲
I really decided I want to read what you love and I was able to borrow a lot of these from my library with no wait. So next month I'm going to try and read a lot of these for my TBR. I'm so excited thanks for the recommendations.
The books you mentioned are either my all time favourites as well or really high on my TBR!!! Based on our taste and especially your love for summer of salt and we are okay (which are two of my absolute favourite books as well) I'll highly recommend "all the bad apples - Moira Fowley-Doyle", "how to make a wish- Ashley Herring Blake" and "the stars and the Blackness Between them - Junauda Petrus" all sapphic magical realism books exploring grief ! And clap when you land by Elizabeth Acevedo! Also sapphic exploring grief and written in verse like Long Way Down

I have heard nothing but absolutely incredible things about that one! I haven't read a really good powerful book this year yet so I feel like that one would be the perfect one to pick up!
I love so many of these! And the others all sound fantastic :) In terms of recommendations, I think you'd really like How it feels to float by Helen Fox. It's about a girl with depression, dealing with the grief of losing her dad (and she may or may not be haunted by his ghost).
Mixed feelings when I see a Lexi recommendation video. Excitement because your videos are always so comforting and happy, and also dread for my bank account because I KNOW I'll want to immediately read every single recommended book.
I recently discovered Booktube (where have I been all of this time?!?!) and it has been dreadful for my bank account. I have been utilizing the library more because of this problem! Whenever I read I library book that I loved then I make the purchase. It has made things a bit better on my finances. I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem lol
You posted this on my birthday. Thanks by the way. I was getting ready to leave to my brother's house to celebrate with my nephews and niece and sat down to see if anyone had posted anything and you and Gavin posted so I was able to watch both videos and right when I was done watching the 2nd video, my dad arrived to pick me up! JUST IN TIME! Literally as the video was finished. I was shocked because I'm rarely this lucky. I'll Give You the Sun is on my TBR. I believe I added it because of you. After this video? Who knows now. Elatsoe is also in the TBR. Can't wait! :) Long Way Down, never heard of it. Added it Neverworld Wake I heard of through Emma Roberts' book club but was not interested in reading it then. I'm changing my mind so I hope I enjoy it when I get to it. A Million Junes... already said I have it on my TBR and wanna read it soon. Maybe I'll be able to. The Astonishing Color of After... I hope I can handle this one. On my TBR now Summer of Salt is also on the TBR and I hope I enjoy it We Were Liars... I don't know if I wanna read it. I'm not into books like this but I have read some and liked them. We'll see... We Are Okay... We'll see what happens. Maybe I'll read it. Love & Gelato... I may read this someday. A Little Something Different... Never heard of this. So, I need to keep this video somewhere handy so I can come back to it to make sure I have all the titles correct for my challenge of reading like my fave booktubers. Jade has given us a list of her faves as well and I made a list of the series she talked about earlier today (or was that yesterday? Can't remember now). I can't wait to do this. I'm having to start my TBR game over again because I lost a few titles and some were missing from the list I made so I'll be adding Jade's faves as well as yours before many of the books I have available. Thanks for posting this. I loved it when I first watched and I love it still.

I would recommend both A Constellation of Roses and The Deepest Roots by Miranda Asebedo. They both have magic and found families and I just love them...A Constellation of Roses even has magical pie...
I’ll give you the sun is my absolute fav. “He was the kind of man who walks into a room and all the walls fall down.” Is still one of my favorite books quotes I just never forgot it.

I love watching your videos, you give a great variety and have definitely helped expand my library. I am also reading your monthly books as well, super excited for April's book, I haven't read the secret garden since high school(2011). I can't wait for more.
Aha😊 When you said summer of salt and sorrow instead of summer of salt because of the book house of salt and sorrows by Erin Craig which is a YA fantasy!
I loved the Astonishing Color of After and I'll Give You the Sun! Some YA books I would recommend are When You Were Everything and The Way I Used to Be. Love your content as always

Hi Lexi! I love your channel and I am always excited to see your new posts! I know you are reading short story collections this year and was wondering if you can do a short story and poetry collection recommendation video?
What a great video with so many wonderful books!!! 🤩👏🏻 - By the way, can you make a recommendation video for new adult books that have a YA feel - so not steamy romance, but books that deal with the college experience and what it feels like to be independent. Kind of like: Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell or We Are Okay by Nina Lacour - I guess I'm thinking books set in college that are written in the YA style? 😂📚
Hi Destiny! That's so sweet of you. I don't really have specific places but I like specific types of jewelry (dainty, gold, usually has a theme of greek mythology, books, or stars) and so I search for those things! One of my necklaces (the square one) is from Wanderlust and Co and is of the Star Card in the tarot deck- I thought it was really pretty. The other necklace is a gift from Kalyn and it's from Awe Inspired (the Aphrodite necklace). Hope that helps!
Ive heard in the booktube community that you havent read sad until you've read A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. I myself havent read it yet but would like to. Its massive but will make you feel so many emotions. Wild Beauty sounds interesting but I LOVE the book cover, beautiful.
I'm sure someone has already said this, but you were probably calling it "Summer of Salt and Sorrow" because of House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig.
Omg you need to read the following: •How To Make Friends With the Dark by Kathleen Glasglow •My Heart and Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga •A Quiet Kind of Thunder by Sara Barnard
@@alexandraroselyn be warned if you're a crier. The first 2 are completely heart-wrenching. And they have major triggers for death, suicide, and depression!
Yay, thank you! I've been trying to get all the House of Night book series at once but I cannot afford it 😂 one day! Thank you for the recommendations, love from a hopeful friend xoxo
Hi Lexie!! I am a new subscriber and have been binging you videos like crazy!! I love love loved the Adventures Through Wonderland challenge and have some questions!! (Im a lot older than you lol and my tech knowledge isnt so great) Is the discord website something you use all the time for book chats? or just the challenges? What is the best way to be a part of the Touch of Whimsy book club?I am not on twitter and wasnt sure if there was another way? And also will there me any more of these challenges? I would love to participate in it! Thank you SO MUCH for inspiring me to read some books way outside my usual picks. I figured I am "too old" to read middle and YA but after watching your videos I think why not?? Your whimsical and fun approach to reading has completely lifted my spirits and motivated me. Sorry for such a long comment. Have a wonderful day!!
Hi Amy! No the discord is actually an all going thing! You can go there whenever you want to chat about books or do reading sprints!! And honestly if you want to be a part of the book club you just pick up the books and then tune in for the lives! If you want to connect to the community I highly recommend the discord!!
Ava Lavender and I'll Give You The Sun are some of all time favourites. I would recommend Laura Ruby's Bone Gap (magical realism) and John Corey Whaley's When Things Come Back (though all his books are great). Also Will Walton's I Felt A Funeral In My Brain (serious topic and slightly different style!).
Borrowed A Little Something Different right after I heard ur rec. I just finished it. It was hilarious 🤣🤣🤣 I love jumping from one perspective to another.
Not a YA recommendation, but if you love magical realism, definitely read Sparrow by Sarah Moon. It’s a middle grade with some elements that remind me of The Astonishing Color of After. It’s beautiful and heartbreaking and hopeful and you need to read it
Two of my favorite YA standalones are Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson and Sisters of Sword and Song by Rebecca Ross 💕 You completely peaked my interest about Elatsoe!!
I loved Night Film by Marisha Pessl and definitely want to read more from her :D I just finished Elatsoe the other day. I usually don't read/enjoy YA books, but I did enjoy this one! Oh I did not know that "we were liars" is YA :D Heard many good things about it.
Something about you talking about books is just so interesting and entertaining. Like idk how you can explain the story in such an attention grabbing way? 😂 Much love to you
goodbye days by jeff zentner is one of my favorite hard hitting ya books, as well as we were liars and long way down, so extremely heartbreaking😭✨ also a message to the sea by alex shearer is one of my favorite books of all time! it's in the middle of ya and middle grade and it's so incredible.
I don’t think I ever say this but..... Lexi is one of the most beautiful people out there, not only on the outside but on the inside too. By the way a middle grade series that I think you will like is called the Eye Of ra - Ben Gartner
EXCUSE ME BUT WHAT?!? This is so incredibly sweet and has made my entire week thank you so much!!! And I will absolutely check that series out thank you!
I am personally, very surprised no one has ever told you that. I just think that you are such a sweet person, plus you are the only one who can calm me down when i am stressed out. 😁😌 So basically I should be the one thanking you. So Thank YOU.
I am so excited that you chose to do a YA haul. YA is one of my favorite groups to read!

- By the way, can you make a recommendation video for new adult books that have a YA feel - so not steamy romance, but books that deal with the college experience and what it feels like to be independent. Kind of like: Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell or We Are Okay by Nina Lacour - I guess I'm thinking books set in college that are written in the YA style? 😂📚
I just love your videos keep doing you girl! Your amazing
Oo yes a little something different is a fun one!
agreed!
So random! But I love both of your necklaces, do you have a special place where you get your jewelry?
@@alexandraroselyn you are a sweetheart! Thank you so much. I just subscribed last week and you were automatically an instant watch!
Alexandra you can read The casket of time, that amazing book, I think you can love it, The casket of time was a great good surprised for me.
I will read I'll give you the sun someday! Elatsoe is already on my tbr and I can't wait to try it. Yes, I love long way down
I think you would love Anna Marie Macklemore! Their writing is honestly so beautiful!!
Craig.
One more book to add: If I stay by Gayle Foreman. I thought the story was beautiful, and I liked the follow up to it as well.
Omg you need to read the following:
•How To Make Friends With the Dark by Kathleen Glasglow
•My Heart and Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga
•A Quiet Kind of Thunder by Sara Barnard
I wrote all of these down thank you!!!
@@alexandraroselyn be warned if you're a crier. The first 2 are completely heart-wrenching. And they have major triggers for death, suicide, and depression!
Ugh love and gelato is such a fun read! This list is immaculate ✨✨ ilyyyy

You should totally read “The Midnight Library” by Matt Haig!! It’s amazing.
I just purchased this and your comment makes me excited to pick it up ASAP! :D
That was actually the first book I've read this year and I loved it!!! It was an easy 5 star read for me!!
Yay, thank you! I've been trying to get all the House of Night book series at once but I cannot afford it 😂 one day! Thank you for the recommendations, love from a hopeful friend xoxo
so much love right back❤️
You’re absolutely gorgeous!!!!
aw thank you so much Sarah!
I am Reading the Ghost Hunter the witches of pendle by Yvette Fielding
I have a recommendation! 😅 The weight of feathers. It’s a bit similar to A million Junes because their families hate each other too
Hiii! completely not related to the video but like i'm in love with your highlighter and blush. what do you useee
Thank you! I use Cover FX liquid dew drops in the color Moonlight, and my blushes are all from Becca Cosmetics! I think today I was wearing Foxglove!
Ur voice is so soothing
Ava Lavender and I'll Give You The Sun are some of all time favourites. I would recommend Laura Ruby's Bone Gap (magical realism) and John Corey Whaley's When Things Come Back (though all his books are great). Also Will Walton's I Felt A Funeral In My Brain (serious topic and slightly different style!).
I was waiting for your video bestie
:)
Borrowed A Little Something Different right after I heard ur rec. I just finished it. It was hilarious 🤣🤣🤣 I love jumping from one perspective to another.
omg I love that you loved it! It's so funny isn't it??
Not a YA recommendation, but if you love magical realism, definitely read Sparrow by Sarah Moon. It’s a middle grade with some elements that remind me of The Astonishing Color of After. It’s beautiful and heartbreaking and hopeful and you need to read it
oooo I really appreciate this recommendation thank you!! Magical Realism is my all time favorite genre!!
Two of my favorite YA standalones are Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson and Sisters of Sword and Song by Rebecca Ross 💕
You completely peaked my interest about Elatsoe!!
WAAAAAW I LOVE UR LIBRARY FRIEND
LKED FOR A BOOK TOO
I loved Night Film by Marisha Pessl and definitely want to read more from her :D I just finished Elatsoe the other day. I usually don't read/enjoy YA books, but I did enjoy this one! Oh I did not know that "we were liars" is YA :D Heard many good things about it.
I love We Were Liars so much!! ❤️❤️
SAMEEE!!!
Something about you talking about books is just so interesting and entertaining. Like idk how you can explain the story in such an attention grabbing way? 😂
Much love to you
aw thank you so much that's really sweet of you to say!
@@alexandraroselyn really love your videos!!
goodbye days by jeff zentner is one of my favorite hard hitting ya books, as well as we were liars and long way down, so extremely heartbreaking😭✨ also a message to the sea by alex shearer is one of my favorite books of all time! it's in the middle of ya and middle grade and it's so incredible.
Goodbye Days is such a great read.
I think I have that book actually! I haven't read it yet but I'll bump it up my TBR now thank you!
Have you read "Notes from my Captivity" by Kathy Parks?
I added this to my TBR. Thank you for the recommendation.. it looks great!
I haven't but I like the name! I can check it out :)
I added most of these to my book list. I feel like a lot of these are going to be tear jerkers.
omgsh yes. It's so weird because I'm a relatively happy person but for some reason I always go for the books that will break my heart 🥺
i just want someone to look at me like you look at your books!😂💖 But I definitely added almost all of these to my wish list can’t wait to read them!!
Just finished the Prison Healer by Lynnette Noni, highly recommend it, it's the first book in a new trilogy.
I don’t think I ever say this but..... Lexi is one of the most beautiful people out there, not only on the outside but on the inside too.
By the way a middle grade series that I think you will like is called the
Eye Of ra - Ben Gartner
EXCUSE ME BUT WHAT?!? This is so incredibly sweet and has made my entire week thank you so much!!! And I will absolutely check that series out thank you!
I am personally, very surprised no one has ever told you that. I just think that you are such a sweet person, plus you are the only one who can calm me down when i am stressed out. 😁😌 So basically I should be the one thanking you. So Thank YOU.
Please do another video! Maybe romances for ya ?
If you haven't already, please please please read The Night Circus by Erin Morganstern. I have feeling that you would love it!
That's actually one of my favorite books! I loved the writing so much!
Have you read The sky is everywhere by jandy Nelson? So good!!
