Two videos within five days?! I'm so here for it😆 Thank you so much for treating us like this, Lexi 🥰
I think you’ll love Remarkably Bright Creatures. I almost NEVER read contemporary but this one was so good. ☀️☀️☀️
That's what I've heard and I don't usually either! I'm excited to try it out! 😊
It’s INCREDIBLE!❤
That book was so good!
@@alexandraroselyn I would also vote for this book as its so original, unique and different.
I agree, it was so good.
Oh Lexi, what a joy to see you again so soon. I love your channel. You are such a joy. I am 71 and unable to get out. I can only get to the doctor. I love shopping with you. Thank you for sharing. You are a dear! God bless you.
My summer TBR: Bad Summer people, A Botanical Daughter, Foxglove, You Like It Darker, Paradise Problem, and The World Divided By Piper.
I really enjoyed Bad summer people! It's a fast read.
Stumbled upon your video today and I could not be happier! Finally some books I have not seen recommended 100 times. I know you have some more popular books in the video too, but I love a rec that I have not heard much about and weird girl recs too!
So, this summer, im somehow reading all the books that have something to do with the sea, and more, here is my ever-growing summer tbr, ive already read some of them:
- Tress of the emerald sea.
- The Wicked Deep.
- The girl who fell beneath the sea.
- Song of the six realms.
- Bookshop and Bonedust.
- Ocean at the end of the lane.
- The true poets of the sea.
- Some kind of happiness.
- Remarkably bright creatures.
And more.
And now imma add The Pisces and The seas to the list! Thankyou 😂
☀️
I’m so happy you’ll be reading the Pisces.. it’s the definition of weird and I love it!!! Death Valley is very different.
oh yay I'm glad to hear that! The premise sounded so cool! :)
Remarkably Bright Creatures is FANTASTIC!❤
Please read Remarkably Bright Creatures ASAP!!! It's so good, it absolutely devastated me. I definitely cried. Reminded me a lot of my grandma that I miss dearly. All about finding connection in unexpected places.
Carley Fortune’s new book “This Summer Will Be Different” was up there with Just for the Summer and Funny Story. Such a come back!
I loved The Wishing Game with my whole heart. Its not fantasy tho, just contemporary with some child-like imagination type magic
You have a way of describing books that makes me want to read everything. Dangerous for my bank account
Remarkably Bright Creatures was sooooo good in such a surprising way! I highly recommend listening to the audiobook if you can. The narrators are fantastic!
Very nice recommendations!
I’m reading two books this summer that have a great summer vibe.
They are: Watership Down by Richard Adam’s and The Light Eaters by Zoe Schlanger.
They are both great so far! ☀️
Summerween?! Oh hell yeah! Heard this term the very first time and I am all here for it! 🤩
How to Become the Dark Lord and Die Trying is on my summer TBR as well! Let's hope it lives up to that amazing title! I am also excited for Foul Days and the new Ashley Poston, A Novel Love Story, is giving me Once Upon a Time mixed with a hallmark movie vibes, but they don't come out til the end of the month
Just read Funny Story and absolutely loved it!! Also really enjoyed Spells for Forgetting and Remarkably Bright Creatures 😊 Some books on my summer TBR are Seven Days in June, The Tainted Cup, Shady Hollow, The Adventures of Amina Al-Sirafi, Only If You’re Lucky, Piranesi, The Final Revival of Opal and Nev, and then we’ll just see from there haha!
Big Little Lies was such a fun read. I loved that one. And really everything by Liane.
Funny Story and Book Lovers are both on my summer tbr! I've only read Happy Place by Emily Henry and I really liked it a lot, so I'm very excited to dive into her other books ☺️
I really enjoyed Spells for Forgetting but it's a better match for "end of summer" reading as it takes place during "apple harvest season". I read Malice House last year for Summerween and I really enjoyed it - it delivered on the spooky. I adored Remarkably Bright Creatures. My summer reading list is mostly focused on "reading books I own" but I highly suspect I'll end up grabbing a bunch of new releases from my library as well. I do have a stack of books picked out for the Summerween prompts.
I enjoyed Thornhedge. The vibes are more of a summer evening by a fire kind of read, rather than under the sun by the water. I hope you get around to reading it!
Cannot wait for July’s middle grade pick, it sounds awesome
ME TOO!!!! It has literally all of my favorite things in one book so let's hope we all love it for the summer! 😊♥
I am looking forward to getting to Can’t Spell Treason Without Tea by Rebecca Thorne. ☀️🌞
The Body is my favorite King book! I read it earlier this year, after watching the movie I decided I wasn’t ready to leave the characters yet. So good!!
I love what you did with the strawberries, how you start so simple and gradually add basic shapes until it looks really cool! And the page with the stick figures was such a good idea too!
☀️Im all here for the weird literature! I just received Chlorine, The Seas sounds great and Brutes I've had on my radar for ages. Great selection
I just read The Unmaking of June Farrow this month and absolutely loved it. I really want to read Spells For Forgetting and just love the way the author writes 🥰
I have The Honey Witch on my list to read for the month of June and am very excited.
This list sounds so good, I added most of those books to my TBR as well 😊 I already read the Stephen King book and gave it 4 stars. My TBR contains around 200 books at the moment 😅🙈
" A group of toxic besties being toxic besties." Isn't that just Pretty Little Liars? 😂 ☀️☀️🌞
I would love to see you do a reading blog on Remarkable Bright Creatures. When I was recommended it I thought there was no way I'd like it, but it ended up being 5 stars for me! Happy reading!
Oooo I can do that!! 😊
Lexi you have to read the Chestnut Springs romance series. As someone who has never liked cowboys etc I was not expecting to have my heart literally stolen away by the series!
oooo really??? Okay I'll write that down thank you!
@@alexandraroselyn you and I almost always have the same takes on books so I hope you love them! Heartless and Reckless were my fav but they’re all so good
I also have Remarkably Bright Creatures on my summer TBR! I was hoping for Ministry of Time, but I am "several months out" on the Libby audio. My summer TBR is also long with This Summer Will be Different, James, and Mansfield Park at top priority! ☀🦊
You are going to kill us with all those good book recs. Lexi, I CAN’T, OKAY? You make me wanna buy everything 😂😂
I love your channel, senhorita. 🩷☀️

Idk if you can tell there is a theme lol
I LOVED Thornbridge, I read it in one sitting and it introduced me to T Kingfisher and made me want to read her work. I need to read The Body too, I love the movie and I do enjoy King's work.
So I decided my "summer" novel is going to be Jaws. It's such a summer iconic movie that I love so I decided to read Jaws for summer because it's got boats, summertime, beaches , ocean so I'm excited!
I have a strong feeling you'll enjoy Remarkably Bright Creatures. I was very unsure but loved it so much.
Marcelus the octopus is hands down the best part of Remarkably Bright Creatures! My goal this summer is to finally read Demon Copperhead
I have been binging a lot of your older videos… mostly autumn and spooky season ones.. they are my favorite lol and I’m lonesome for fall… I wish I could just zoom through summer
☀️ Great summer TBR list. I can’t wait for you to read Remarkably Bright Creatures! ☀️
And the award for the cutest phone case collection goes to...😌🏆
😊❤❤❤
This summer i wanna read Dune, Tress of the Emerald Sea, Dragonfruit, and a variety of summer/beach/water/pirate themed books!
Ok so I have bought my 5 Summerween books..Hollowed by Jessica Taylor which is a Sleepy Hollow twist novel. Shade by Merrier Destefano which is a story about Frankenstein and other classic monsters that come to life after dark at a villa through stories the guest at the party tell. Psycho by Robert Bloch which is a retelling of the movie but little different. Salt and Broom by Sharon Lynn Fisher which is a twist on Jane Eyre and Murder in the Villa by Susan Kieran Lewis. A few of these are only 100 pages which is very manageable. I hope I enjoy them all!
Yes! I want to read all the weird books all summer! ❤
If you like time travel, you could read Just One Damn Thing After Another which is a very funny series following a university department that time travels to study historical events.
I am reading Wild Beauty, which you had recommended on your channel once, a couple of years ago!❤ Also, Exes And Os by Amy Lea, and Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson...you are my favorite Booktuber😊
Right now I am reading "This Summer will be Different" by Carley Fortune, her new Summer Romance this year. If you a an Anne of Green Gables fan like myself you will love it!
11/22/63 is so good!
Loved Emily Henry’s new book. Great steam but really good character development and story. ❤
Lexi, 11/22/63 is AMAZING. It’s a historical fiction, romance, small town thriller, sci-fi, all in one ❤❤❤
Great video! Also, that blue iPad case is FAB
Thank you! 😊
Ministry of time made me cry. I didn’t expect it to be emotional but wow. I just read Swiped and I think it would be a good one for summerween! It’s just good in general but had some comedic elements while reading
I loved The Pisces! I think you’ll really enjoy it ♓️
I read Spoonbender a while ago. The premise is so interesting. I was hoping for more out of it, curious to see your take. Vicious by Schwab is a better magic abilities book imo, but definitely different vibes
I'm actually reading P.S. I Love You for the first time. I got The Husbands recently. I'm also working on When The Crow's Away(more fall season). So not all of them are from this year but that's what I'm currently reading. I also got The Waters a few months ago which I have to pick up again.
Yay, a new video. I have soooo many books . SK’s You Like it Darker, The Fury (as well), Winter’s Orbit, Murder at the end of the World, The Other Half, Dead Eleven, Home is Where the Bodies are, Murder Road, the 2nd book in the Addicted series, Magnolia Parks series, ect. Anyway hopefully I get to a few of these. I’m really excited for You Like it Darker. Anyway I can’t wait for the next video.
Hello,
Thank you Lexi for your content. I am intrigued by the, "weird books" and weird girl literary fiction you mentioned, ha ha! Did you do a vlog or review on books from that genre?
Idk if you have read the Once Upon a Broken Heart series, but if you did and enjoyed it, you should the try Heart of Thorns series. Stephanie Garber(the same author who wrote once upon a broken heart and caraval) has blurbed the first two books(the only two I’ve read so far) which is hilarious cause I’m recommending it based off interest on Once Upon a broken heart. I’m getting the same vibes of once upon a broken heart with Heart of thorns. The story lines aren’t the same, except for the fact that the main female character has a power she hadn’t known about. But yeah there’s my little ramble
I just started The Wishing Game and I’m really enjoying it so far!! It’s so sweet already in just the first chapter. I’m gonna join your patreon for the book club that’s such good timing 😊
11/22/63 IS AMAZING! You will love it
My Summer tbr so far is: „Saltblood“ by Francesca De Tores, „A Gallery of Rogues“ by Beth Lincoln, „Summer’s End“ by Juneau Black, „The Bewitching of Aveline Jones“ by Phil Hickes, „Brambly Hedge: Summer Story“ by Jill Barklem and „You Like It Darker“ by Stephen King 🥰 but I‘m a mood reader so who knows what will be added or removed 😅
The Wishing Game is my fave book so far of 2024! 🥰it is not fantasy tho, it's like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory but with a children's author hosting the contest
I'm also soo curious about Remarkable Bright Creatures! Hope it's really good.🧡🦊☀️
I’m in Australia and am in winter so I’m just going into that vibe with books. But I’m planning to read pineapple street from your recommendation as I love housewives.
I love your videos so much Alexandria ☀️
Bad summer people is on my summer list and Back in the Burbs, and Pretty Dudes
Wow!!! Thank you, Lexi!!! I'm thrilled with all those new titles for your Summer TBR!!! I want them all👏👏👏 although my bank card has hidden from me & my finances have you on their black list already 😉🙃🤣🤣🤣 Nonetheless is a great gift having you there talking about books, my favorite subject, with such enthusiasm & knowledge. You definitely deserve a ☀️ & a huge 🤗💖📚🍀
I really liked Malice House… a lot actually. I still think about it and I read it last year. 11/22/63 I honestly loved it… also if you have Hulu, watch the show! It was so good ☀️ ☀️
Great list! Remarkably Bright Creatures was a surprising favorite for me! On my list I have: Beyond That, The Sea; The Golden Spoon; The Wedding Dress Sewing Circle, The Wishong Game and The Sentence. I think I can add a few from your list too!
Spells for Forgetting is incredible! You're going to love it.
I can't wait to read it!! I've heard such amazing things about it!!
For Sci Fi with a weirder scary thriller: Three Body Problems Trilogy!
I finished book one and omg Incredible but so frightening!!!!! Finished it in three days!!
Now on Book 2 and it’s already wow more than first book
☀I really enjoyed Just for the Summer and I also have a Riley Sager on my summer TBR.
Omgggg big little lies is such a fast read for meee 💃🏻
Loved Remarkably Bright Creatures! Gave it five stars! It is one of my favorites of the year so far!
For weird books, you can’t get much weirder than The Pisces. I read it almost two years ago and I am still smh at that one.
I'm so nervous going into it lol lol Death Valley was.. a lot lol.
Hope you enjoy your reads 📚🥤
I loooved The Wishing Game, it is still one of my top reads of this year! I'm going to put Malice House on my tbr.
omg yessss can't wait until you read Brutes
I love spells for forgetting!
☀️ Ooh those time travel ones sound so good! Esp the ministry of time one! I have so many on my summer tbr!! 😆 I really want to read Carlos Ruiz Zafon's The Prince Of Mist as it's set in the summer if I'm remembering correctly. Also I love his books in general definitely my fav author!
I’m so happy I found your channel! You have great taste in books. I’m excited about the Ministry of Time as well 😁
Ah! So excited. I already ordered Thornhedge!! So excited.
☀️ thank you for all your wonderful TBRs! I cannot wait to make my summer TBR ☀️
Romance recommendation: A Love Catastrophe by Helena Hunting. I don't know if you have read it, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The two main characters are adorably awkward, and I just fell in love with them both.
I am looking forward to The Midnight Feast by Lucy Foley
Also for weird books, pick up Now is Not the Time to Panic by Kevin Wilson.
Those are a lot of books 😅 I read Remarkably bright Creatures and must say the story is so homely and cozy that I recommend to everyone, for additional books, you may also want to try The Housemaid is Watching by Frieda Mcfadden, Everytime I go on vacation someone dies
Excited to see what you think of The Fury!
lol I just read Giovanni's Room earlier this month, am reading The Body right now, and Tin Man was one of my favorite reads of last summer :)
So, you should start with remarkably bright creatures. Amazing book. May need tissues ❤
Ahh I love your TBRs!!! I’ve been contemplating Remarkably Bright Creatures so I need to know your opinions on it if/when you get to it!!! I also love Stand By Me so I’ll probably be picking up The Body. I’ve just recently read the 5 acotar books and now I’m itching to read the throne of glass series!!! My friends recommended the Red Rising series so I’ll definitely be starting that soon! I have quite a few books I’ve been meaning to read but I think I want to read Seven Days in June, What You’re Looking For Can Be Found in the Library, and maybe Funny Story will be my first Emily Henry book!!
I’m reading book one in the zodiac academy by Susanne valenti and Caroline Peckham and it’s so fun so far, I wanna read the whole series this summer ❤
You will LOOOOOOOOOVE 11/22/63. I absolutely loved it and I really don’t enjoy SiFi or Stephen King. But this book was soooooo good, I couldn’t put it down.
This is the summer of horror for me. Love this list. I just picked up I’m a Fan from my library , can’t wait ☀️
Ooo I hope you like that one Eslie!! 😊❤️
Not a single middle grade in the bunch! What a shocker (for me anyway). I don't have a TBR anymore because I'm too slow to read physically and not listening to audio as much right now. But I'm trying to bring my TBR down by a lot so I can get new books and until I have nothing to read I am not getting anything new. This will also give me time to save for new stuff so it's all good.
Hope you have a lovely weekend!
Medusa is a middlegrade bestie 😭😭😭 I’m reading it for my middle grade book club I host. Also I have an entire middle grade inspired short with summer reading titles coming out next week!! 😊
And I loveeee that you’re trying to bring down your TBR! I need to do that lol 😂
@@alexandraroselyn Thanks! I've added Medusa to my TBR now. I can't wait for next week now.
Right now I only have 246 books on my TBR but I also think that's too much. I decided to go on a book-buying ban until I finish everything or almost everything at least. This is gonna take a long time, I think. I also think I have close to 200 audiobooks and will get a few more with the money I have saved and then I will cancel Audible until I have everything read and heard. I hope it works out for me but also that it works out for you. I would love to see you post an Owned TBR video to hold yourself accountable. I think it would be fun to see this on your channel.
Good luck with everything coming up and have an awesome weekend!!
Love the consistency Lexi 😍 Can you plz do a video recommeding your favourite literary fiction books ?
Tin Man is one of the books I’d want to reread sometime soon!
I'm going to try and read Elin Hildebrand's The Hotel Nantucket to see if it's really good or not, mostly because for some reason I want to read it, alongside Sabaa Tahir's The Ember in the Ashes series. ☀
I recently added "The Seas" to my want to read list. I had never heard anyone talk about it before and now here you are - and this book is a couple decades old I believe - so what are the odds?! I would love to buy "The Seas", "The Ministry of Time" and "The Secret Lives of Church Ladies" but I am not buying anything right now. When I go on road trip through three provinces with my family this summer, I am going to do an independent book store crawl. I'm pretty excited to be saving for that! I'm in a weird girl mood right now too - I want to soon get to "Rouge", "Maeve Fly', "Night Bitch" and "Briefly, a Delicious Life". I also have "Blue Sisters" by Coco Mellors early for North America because I ordered it from Waterstones. I adored "Cleopatra and Frankenstein". I've got "Reckless Girls", "The Only One Left", "Silver Nitrate", and "When the Crow's Away" in my sights for SummerWeen (and some of the previously mentioned horrors, too). I want to try "The Cruel Prince" by Holly Black (finally!). Oh my goodness, you must try "Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982" - I just finished it and I cannot handle how much it moved me. It's such an important book and I'm going to tell everyone I encounter to read it! (Cannot wait to hear your thoughts on "The Pisces" and "Chlorine"- I want to read those eventually, too!) Oh! if you're in a monster mood - I've preordered "The Wren in the Holly Library" and I'm pretty excited about it!
😎I am excited to read Margo's got Money Troubles.
