Fair warning: I mostly post instagram stories about my dogs and cats. - Развлечения
I couldn't agree with you more! I just discovered the cozy fantasy genre and it has instantly become my favorite. I am a 77 year old widower that lives with a mystical black cat....what could be more perfect?
Hahaha i love you!!! I need you to open a booktube channel!
Yesss, legends and lattes made me realize THIS is actually my favorite genre. I would love to see bookstores have a dedicated area of cozy fantasy. 💗
One of my cozy fantasy recs would be Dealing with Dragons by Patricia Wrede. Its about a princess who doesn't want to get married so she runs away to live with a dragon.
Dealing with Dragons has been one of my favorites since I was a child - it needs more love!
The sequels are also excellent!
Omg this book! I absolutely adored it when I was in middle school!
Thank u for the recommendation! I just got it based on your comment! Only $8.96 total for all 4 in the series on Kindle. Great price! I’m excited to dive in!
I'm already nine chapters into Legends & Lattes and I am loving EVERY second of it, so far.
I especially love how everyone in Thune finds the idea of coffee to be so alien. It's like introducing fantasy characters to 21st Century tech
I am a huge fan of T. Kingfisher now. I loved both Nettle & Bone and The Wizard's Guide to Defensive Baking. Those along with The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches, The House in the Cerulean Sea, and Project Hail Mary were my year's Top 5 so far.
Amazing taste
The Tea Dragon Society is probably one of my favorites now! It's soooooooo cute!!
I also loved House in the Cerulean Sea and the Secret Society of Irregular Witches! Both are ADORABLE and cozy👌
I love tea dragon society!!!!
@@cupid9290 Such a sweet book series! I only read the first one.. I need the others.
@@OHeyChrissy honestly, all of Kay O’Neils graphic novels are so sweet and totally recommend all of them!!!
I would HIGHLY recommend the Garlic graphic novels by Bree Paulsen. I think would absolutely love them. They’re just super simple, very cozy and cute stories :)
Yes, I read them recently, and they are now some of my top favorites 📖❤️
Read the first last month. So damn cute ❤️
You're the only YT (that I follow) who mentioned the trigger warnings for Nettle and Bone. Everyone kept saying how fun and cozy it is so I bought it for my birthday (my fault for not checking the content warnings), but ended up DNFing temporarily due to heavy content. Please don't get it if abuse, child death, abortion, rape, sibling death and violent death trigger you. Otherwise go ahead and get it. The writing style is lovely.
The Hobbit and The Lord of Rings are comfort reads for me. I would definitely say The Hobbit can be considered as a cozy read. ❤
I was hoping Spinning Silver would make this list! So cozy and the wintry vibes…IMMACULATE
I feel the same. I like the quiet parts. Everybody is always hating on the journey-trope, but I usually love it, because big parts of it is often not very eventful. It is where the scenes are set, where personal struggles comes to the surface, group dynamics either gets stronger or weaker. I think journey-trope is very underrated.
I read Half a Soul last month and I fell in love with it. It became my favorite book of the year and I plan on reading the second one this month! Which it usually takes me months to move on to the next book of a series. I hope you enjoy it! :)
Same for me. This story enchanted me.
I'd absolutely recommend the Winterhouse trilogy by Ben Guterson - an orphan is invited to a wonderful hotel for the winter break away from her mean aunt and uncle and uncovers mysteries and clues to her past. All three are wonderful and cozy and delightful 😊
I ADORED Irregular Witches and Legends and Lattes. I've purchased Nettle and Bone to read this winter. I had NO IDEA about these kinds of books until I began watching your channel and I thank you so much for that ❤️
PS: The Hobbit is TOTALLY in this genre. Hobbits are all about coziness!!! Perhaps the first cozy fantasy ever? ☕
I absolutely love howls moving castle book, it was so good and I read the whole series too. Read it in one sitting tbh and I love how self aware the book is.
Just because I know dark academia is your thing, can you please do a recommendation list for “if you loved Wednesday?” I’m obsessed and need more like it!
Highly recommended reading Under the Whispering Door and Before the Coffee Gets Cold. Both are such heartwarming stories, I'm sure you'll love them 💕
Couldnt agree more. Before the Coffe gets Cold is a wonderful read!
☕ I'd highly recommend Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin and The Enchanted Sonata by Heather Dixon Wallwork. The Enchanted Sonata is especially great for this time of the year, it's a nutcracker retelling. It's the perfect Christmas read, so cozy and magical!❤
Legends and Lattes is my favorite book ever
Thank you
☕️ Baking Bad by Kim M. Watt is lovely! It’s about a cozy English village that’s has dragons and a Tea Shop and a murder mystery. I think you would love it!
The wizards guide to defensive baking sounds cool 😊 also I’ve seen the howl’s moving castle and stardust movies, want to read the books 😊
☕ I highly recommend Paula Brackston's Little Shop of Found Things. Mother and daughter (mother is older and daughter is in her late 20's I believe) leave London to start a new life and open/take over an antique shop in a little village. Daughter has a magical gift with some antiques. There's a ghost, time travel, mystery and a pinch of romance. Super cozy read. I believe there are 4 books in the series. The second book House of Chocolate is SUPER cozy too. She gets transported to and old timey hot chocolate tavern. Plus the book covers are Gorgeous!
Thank you. I'm going to try these
The Flames of Albiyon by Jean Menzies! It's a sapphic fantasy with a mystery aspect about this girl raising a dragon. I loved it so much!
It’s been a busy weeks so I saved this video for a good quiet moment. The video didn’t disappoint, although they never do. So cozy and filled with holiday vibes ☕️ 📚 ❄️
I fell in love with Secret Society of Irregular Witches! Been looking for novels with the same cozy & magical vibe, so thank u for this video!
I'm right there with you, Legends & Lattes is what got ME into Cozy Fantasy
☕️ my best friend and I became friends through our love of stardust.
Can’t spell treason without tea is also a cozy fantasy that I like
ah this is the perfect video for me right now!! i just read legends & lattes and LOVED it so im on my way to read these right now🏃🏃
The House in the Cerulean Sea is what opened my eyes to the genre, and I think it may be one of my favorites. I love cozy mysteries, and enjoy fantasy, so this is a nice blend.
An older book I’d kind of consider is The Chronicles of Narnia series. Certainly not low stakes, but it gives a very cozy feeling.
☕Gosh!! I really enjoyed this video!..and I think now i'm going to update my Dec TBR ...I'm already reading Legends & Lattes and A Wizard's guide to defensive baking this month...and I think i'm going to add Half Soul, Stardust, The very secret society of irregular witches to my TBR.... ✨❄☃🎄 You are great Lexi !! 💗
T Kingfisher is one of my favorite authors. HIGHLY recommend Paladin’s Grace. It’s so so good and cozy
Stardust is one of my favorite movies
☕️ Thank you for giving a name to my favorite genre - because you literally just recommended every favorite book of mine!! 😍 Love this so much! The few books I haven't yet read from this list are sitting on my shelf for my January / birthday month TBR 💕
May I also recommend:
- A Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers (as well as the 2nd book: A Prayer for the Crown-Shy).
- Garlic & Witch and Garlic & Vampire very much fit the whole vibe.
-Lanterns of the Lost by Foxenwood’s very own Rixi Hazelwood! ✨️
I knew you would show Legends and Lattes for this genre! I loved reading it! One of the best books I've read this year.
Fantasy isn’t a genre I naturally gravitate to but I’d love to read more. As an English teacher, a lot of my High School students enjoy fantasy, so thank you for the recommendations on where to start!
I'm reading "The Hobbit" right now for the Candy Cane Ball Readathon on your Patreon right now and I was worried it wouldn't "fit" the prompt I choose it for, but I'm glad that it's been validated as a good choice 😅
Hiiii! I just wanted to leave a quick comment to say that I have been LOVING your channel. You have such a bubbly and positive vibe and your book recommendations are 👌🏻 I had a major spine and chest surgery recently and your videos have been soo wonderful to watch during my recovery. I’ve been binging your previous years vlogmas and cozy book recommendation videos. So thank you and I’m so happy I found your channel. ❤
Legends and Lattes, The House in The Cerulean See, and The Very Secret Society Of Irregular Witches are three of my favorite five star books of this year!
Love the suggestions! Many thanks and wish you a jolly year! ☕😊
I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet but Atelier is a French word and it's pronounced a-TELL-ee-ay. Cozy books are like my FAVOURITE genre and I can't wait to get into some of these! I have read about half of them 😂
Yes! 💯 about The Hobbit. When I read the title of your video, I immediately thought of The Hobbit. I read it for the first time during winter in my high school dormitory and it was such a cozy read. It made me fall in love with the fantasy genre. ✨ 🐉 💰 💎
I read half a soul recently and I loved it sm. It feels like a warm hug you would 100% love it!!! The other books in the series are also amazing
I'm currently reading A Wizard's Guide to Defensive Baking and I'm loving it so far. I also recently picked up Legends and Lattes. I can't wait to read it! ☕
a cozy fantasy that i would recommend would be the harry potter series, excluding anything and everything the author has said, she wrote some pretty good books and are the reason why i read as much as i do nowadays ☺
I think the series really did a good job in giving that cozy feel, despite all the dark elements. I wouldn’t call it cozy per se, but it really envelops you in the world. Shame about the author though.
❤☕️🎄📚My TBR just exploded!! Thank you!!
Happy holidays Lexie love this first Christmas video! 🎄💚🎅🏻🎅🏻🎄🎄📙❤️❤️🎄💚🎅🏻📚📚📚🎅🏻🎅🏻💚🎄❤️❤️📙📙💚💚🎅🏻📚📚🎅🏻💚💚🎄📙❤️❤️❤️📙🎄💚🎅🏻🎅🏻💚📙📙📙🎅🏻📚📚📚📚🎅🏻💚🎄📙❤️❤️❤️
I love legends & lattes and thank you for recommending more books like this with the cozy vibes 💕
I finished Love Secret Santa by S.A. Domingo today and I absolutely loved it. It's the perfect book for a cosy read and I had hot chocolate with it. So good ❄❄☕☕
cozy is one of my favourites, genres, thank you
These are fantastic recommendations and JUST what I'm in the mood for right now. Thank you as always!!!
This was such a cozy video, and I can't wait to pick up a new book this month. 😀Also, if you have been looking for the perfect, cozy Christmas ambience to listen to, I have a super cute video I've been trying to spread the word about. I will be looking foward to your next video! 😍💗
I love that so many of us have fallen in love with cozy fantasy this year! You have to try Baking Bad by Kim M Watt. It is a cozy mystery with dragons and I loved it!!
I'm not a fantasy fan or a middle grade fan but I love watching your recommendation videos. Thanks again for your fun content. ☕️
I literally just read the first two chapters of Legends and Lattes - you read my mind, Lexi ❤
I also love the quiet moments in fantasy more than the action scenes - I must read Legends and Lattes soon!! I love this list so much and I have only read a couple of them! I’m going to get cozy in January!
Both of the TJ Klune novels were phenomenal - two of my favorite books I've read this year. I just placed a hold for Half a Soul! Thanks for these awesome recommendations. ☕
I just got a copy of legends and lattes 🤗 so excited to read it!
Half a soul so excited to read and snow & Rose! 💚🎅🏻🎄💚💚📚🎄❤️📙📖📖📖❤️🎅🏻🎅🏻💚💚📚📚💚🎄🎅🏻📙📙📖📖📙🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻💚📚📚📚🎄❤️🎅🏻📖📙📙❤️❤️🎅🏻🎄💚📚📚📚📚💚🎅🏻❤️📙📙📖📖🎅🏻📚💚🎄❤️❤️❤️🎅🏻🎄🎄🎄🎅🏻
☕️ I’m definitely going to be picking up about half of these 😄 they sound so perfect ❤
SO EXCITED!!!!💚🎄❤️❤️❤️❤️💚💚💚🎄❤️❤️📚📖📖📚❤️❤️🎄💚📙📙🎄🎅🏻❤️🎅🏻📖📖📚📚❤️❤️🎄💚📙📙🎄🎅🏻❤️❤️🎄🎄📖📚📚❤️❤️❤️🎅🏻💚💚📙💚🎅🏻❤️❤️🎅🏻🎄📖📚📚📚📚❤️🎅🏻🎄💚📙
Always fun to hear your recommendations. I will be listening to "Under the Whispering Door" soon. I didn't know about it. Thanks! ☕
I loved Legends and lattes! I agree Nettle and Bone is also so cozy and OMG yess House in Cerulean Sea! ☕️
Hey Girl! I'm new to your channel, and I just wanted to say hello because I love, love, LOVE your recommendations! Binging your videos now, lol. So excited and happy I've found ya!
I need to pick so many of this books because this is exactly my vibe! I absolutely loved Half A Soul and so many of the other books on this list are on my 5 star predictions! I also would highly recommend anything by Margaret Rogerson. Her books have slightly higher stakes but they’re so cozy to me.
I need to read Legends and Lattes! I absolutely loved how cozy The House in Cerulean Sea, so I have a feeling I would love the other books you mentioned in this video.
Oh these are fantastic suggestions. Clearly this is my favorite genre and I didn't even know it. I've read some of the ones you've talked about and I trust your judgment wholeheartedly! I just finished Before the Coffee Gets Cold and loved it. Howl's Moving Castle and Half a Soul are two of my all time favs. I recently read A Psalm for the Wild-Built and would highly recommend, although it's more cozy sci-fi than fantasy. I'm reallly interested in this book club you mentioned. Anyway thanks if you read this far and I've subscribed
Alexandria, I felt the same as you about Under the Whispering Door, but I just finished it last night and I absolutely LOVED IT! I literally laughed and cried, and my heart is complete mush now
Before the Coffee gets cold was amazing. The audio book was excellent ☕️📖
Also, The Ogress and the Orphans was a very cozy, sweet story❤️📖
Yes please give me the cozy books 😊 I love the house in the cerulean sea so much! I want to recommend Jo & Rus. It’s not a fantasy but it’s so wholesome
Such a good list of cozy fantasy books ☕ I would really like to recommend "So this is ever after" by F.T. Lukens to more people, as it is one of my all time favorite books. I actually recommend Lukens other books as well, but especially this one.
Stardust is really good, I actually didn't know there was a movie so I'll have to check it out. Half a Soul is amaaaaaazing. It's definitely all about characters and vibes and it ended up being my #1 fave of the year so far.
Legends and Lattes was bloody amazing, one I can also recommend that is similar is Bad Gods by Gaie Sebold. Definitely pick this up, this one takes place in a brothel but work with it as I think it is bloody fantastic and I think more people need to read this one.
Great to see you back in another video Lexi, always love you videos especially this time of year 🤗🤗
I loved the audiobook for House in the Cerulean Sea. The voice he does for Chauncey is everything.
For cozy fantasy I recommend the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett. His humour and social commentary are great. My favourites are Mort, Reaper Man, Guards Guards, and Equal Rites. The Librarian is my favourite ❤️
This list is top tier - love all these! 👏🏻
LK2 we just woke up from our nap ! Happy Bookish Thursday 🥳🤪😴 We always enjoy watching your videos !
☕️ several of those are on my tbr. Slowly working through it.
☕️ Great video. I’m new to this genre. I’m looking forward to reading books from this list.
Managed to check out The Tea Dragon Society! And I put The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches on hold -- along with The House in the Cerulean Sea and Legends and Lattes! Super long waits, but I can wait!
Thanks for the recommendations!
PS: If you want cozy science fiction books, I recommend "The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet" by Becky Chambers, as well as her new "Monk and Robot" series!
Loved House in the Cerulean Sea and I felt the exact same way as you about picking up Under the Whispering Door. I love TJ Klune and need to read all of his books.
☕ - 2 books added to the TBR this winter 👌🏻 legends and lattes is a reread for me this year, and I'm looking forward to rereading the Bear and the Nightingale ❄️
I would suggest one to read "A Castle in the Clouds" , a cozy , wintry , hotelsy , chilly , Christmassy mystery set in Switzerland luxurious hotel with an amazing environment.... I vote a 10/10
I loved Legends & Lattes and read it after watching one of your reviews!
☕️ yes, girl! I’m currently reading Legends & Lattes and loving every second of it. The list you have here is so good. I recently discovered T. Kingfisher from both Nettle & Bone and What Moves the Dead (highly recommend if you’re a fan of The Fall of the House of Usher - it’s my favorite Poe story), so I think I plan to buy The Wizard’s Guide to Defensive Baking soon.
I think I came to Howl’s Moving Castle too late in life because it just didn’t resonate with me in book form the way it has for so many others. I’ve not ever seen the movie, though, so maybe I’ll give that a try next! Merry Christmas, my beautiful friend!
Spinning Sliver sounds amazing cover so beautiful so winter like 🎄🎅🏻📚📙📖📙🎅🏻🎅🏻🎄💚💚❤️🎅🏻🎄❤️🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎄🎅🏻🎅🏻🎄📙📚📙📙📚📚💚💚❤️🎅🏻🎅🏻🎄❤️❤️🎅🏻🎅🏻🎅🏻🎄📚📙📙📙📙💚💚💚💚💚🎄🎅🏻🎅🏻
I would definitely recommend The Parasol Protectorate by Gail Carriger. There are some stakes but the whole world (steampunk fantasy Victorian era with werewolves, vampires, and ghosts).
I recommend another book by Patricia Wrede - Snow White and Rose Red. It’s a more adult retelling of the fairy tale, with the bear and the Prince, and it’s so sweet and charming.
I've grown to love cozy fantasies too! Legends and Lattes reminds me of the movie Chocolat, with similar themes and chocolate instead of coffee. Highly recommend a watch if you liked Legends and Lattes. Some other cozy fantasies I love are The Polar Bear Explorer's Club, My Lady Jane, and The Language of Ghosts, which reminded me a bit of Howl's Moving Castle.
I really enjoyed The Language of Ghosts.
Haven’t read Legends and Lattes. Want to! Planning to buy it sometime.
Reading Spinning Silver and Uprooted for the first time. Can’t wait to enjoy them! Need to read Snow & Rose. Read The Tea Dragon Society for the first time several months ago. Loved it!
Omg! I love love cosy fantasy and legends and lattes is one of the best books I’ve read this year. I love the coziness of it. I have kindle unlimited and I’ve found “you can’t spell treason without tea” on there and it is 100% on my TBR. Especially around Christmas, where I have some very important and big a level deadlines coming up and stress levels are high at the moment- it’s exactly what I need (currently rereading Matilda after seeing the new film because I am OBSESSED with it atm- alos veyr cosy)
i’ll definitely be checking out a wizards guide to defensive baking and stardust! ☕️
Needed this 😂 read Legends and Lattes three times now it was so good so very glad for more recommendations!
☕. Another great list of recommendations...thanx!
I love all these recommendations! I also LOVED House in the Cerulean Sea. I suggest we read Under the Whispering Door for book club! It will give me an excuse to buy it 🤣🤣☕
I still need to read Tea Dragon Society and Snow & Rose. They're in my TBR. Wizard's Guide I'm doing the audio book 😁
☕️ I just joined your Patreon! So excited to dive in!
I love that Legends &Lattes is described as low-stakes. Not to get too intense about it, but a few years ago I had a mental health crisis and basically consuming media with any violence or high-stakes situations was too much for me. It was really tough because I used to use movies, tv, books, and video games to escape and relax, but I basically couldn’t for a long time because everything would cause me to anxiety spiral. I’m a lot better now and back to consuming all types of media, but knowing that a book is low stakes would have been so good for me back then!
I got Legends and Lattes for Christmas! Well it came late, but I got it because you recommended it!!
Under the Whispering Door is so good! I'd say set you expectations by knowing that unlike Cerulean Sea, the protagonist is unlikable--but the point and pleasure is seeing him transform *A Christmas Carol* - style.
If you branch out to middle-grade, Robin McKinley's Beauty is a very cosy comfort read to me 😊
I love Stardust the movie!! Didn't know it was a book, now I need to read the book 😄❤️
There is an illustrated version of the book, I'm not sure if it's still in print but if it is, it is worth checking out my opinion.
I loved Spinning Silver!☕️
