    I've found Attila to not be so brutal as people say it is, the economy is basically as broken as Rome Total War and basically becomes a non issue after the mid game. The problem with is that it's really slow expanding in the early game is pretty pointless and when you are going to expand you have to be ready for it.

    Wow. Biggest plot twist of 2021: HappyCompy is the mod author of the Community Patch xD I actually went back and commented in 2017 re: AI behavior (I needed to make sure I didn't leave you any spicy death threats haha j/k)
    I remember not being a huge fan of the changes but all this Total War content lately is giving me a craving to return to Rome II, maybe I'll give the community patch another go.

    Hey thank you for the community patch mod. I was really enjoying it.
    But I have some problems.
    1. Turn 160, legendary/legendary
    It seems that AIs are not willing to recruit high tier units like cataphracts. Parthia is recruiting median cav, one or two noble cav and basic levy units. And mercenaries.
    And the Germanic tribes they love levy spear units a lot.
    2. I think it's a bug. While I dont have any religious building in the province, the panel shows that I have more than 20 religious influence from building.
    Other than these I'm really enjoying it. The mod is one of my favorite. Thank you.

    I'm having trouble getting the Community Patch to work. Can you help explain step by step on how to install it? This is what I did: subscribed the mod in the workshop, copied the files to the data folder, and enable the mod in the launcher. But still no luck in getting it to work.

  • @iNeedaBreakdown

    Love this mod compilation. Could you please recommend a mod, that makes blood stay on the ground forever? Or maybe make a whole video about the best blood mods?
    Mech_Donald's "Better Blood Textures" mod did the job perfectly back in the day, but it doesn't work with the latest rome 2 version (at least i didn't get it to work, maybe I missed something).
    The only mod I could find, that makes blood stay on the ground was Ave Metal's "Rivers of Blood". It works fine, but the textures are a little too over the top for my personal taste, so I'd prefer a mod that sticks closer to the vanilla blood textures.
    Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!

    please... please tell me how a freaking graphical overhaul or adding some blood here and there makes this game brutally difficult... some mods from the sound of it should be on this list, but some makes me wonder if you even know what making something difficult means >.

  • @TheLEDkiller

    I just tried your mod, the Community patch one, and I don't know what part of it its supposed to be more harder tbh.... I'm at turn 34 with Athens in normal difficulty, monitoring how Macedon and Sparta AI is working out, and while the diplomatic part of the campaign is working ok (declaring wars, making alliances, etc) and they do create good armies with better units than vanilla, they just stand around the city, doing nothing, while they are at war with a faction that has its city just at their side, did I do something wrong? I'm only running this mod.

    • @happycompy
      @happycompy  4 года назад +1

      Hmmm, that's a good question. At one point, the AI was suicidally aggressive, stretching itself thin and leaving itself open to attack from behind. I had to reign it in to make it more interested in self-preservation. 90% of the campaign AI changes are based around Total War Three Kingdoms, Attila and Warhammer, all three of which have much better AI than Rome 2. If you're finding the AI too passive, I recommend combining it with "A more aggressive AI" by Turquoise Falcon :).

    • @TheLEDkiller
      @TheLEDkiller 4 года назад

      @@happycompy yeah, just tried that mod combined with yours, but the AI just doesn't want to leave their settlements. Maybe an order of activation problem from the launcher? I putted his mod below yours, didn't try the other way around.

  • @mestrecice3776

    What difficulty do you recommend for your Community Patch mod for one who plays vanilla VH/VH?
    Very well made video btw!

    • @happycompy
      @happycompy  4 года назад +2

      I definitely recommend H/H. The two biggest things that are going to kill you are public order & the more aggressive/ruthless Campaign AI. Not a bad idea to rush the Public Order techs if you're playing a faction that's surrounded by other cultures. Alternatively, you can level up your generals' Authority, as that increases Public Order, too. Make sure your culture in as high as possible in all of your provinces. Increasing cultural conversion is basically an indirect way of increasing public order. If you're playing a republic like Rome or Carthage, PO won't be as much of an issue, but loyalty will. Try to keep your political power balanced, as it gives a +10 loyalty bonus. Good luck! Let me know how things work out for you.
      Rome has a very strong starting position, so you MIGHT be able to get away with playing them VH. Same with Egypt.

    hey happycompyTW quick question if ya have the time. have you ever heard of a mod that makes the computer players have the same chance of civil war/ succession as a player? I know alot of people dont like the civil wars I actually think there cool something to have to worry about if you ever start to steam roll. which many TW fans know the game becomes a chore when you get so powerful. I always thought id be cool if the AI had the same chance to get screwd over as a player does. also do you know a mod that makes the AI backstabby like your community patch mod does but on smaller in scale that isn't such an overall mod. ? like a mod that just effects AI. thanks man for the vidoes ive learned alot!

    so not 7 mods that make the game brutally difficult, 4 mods that make the game look more brutal but with no gameplay effect. 1 map change mod, and 2 mods that rebalance the campaign AI. so really theres only 2 mods that will make the game more difficult. title more misleading than rome 2s launch trailer lmao
