Hello. I am Sebidee. :D I randomly came across this today and I love it so much. Thank you for making it! This mod was an obessession of mine for years. Basically what I spent all my spare time at while I was in university and didn't want to study haha. I am so glad that people like it and are still using it. I'm glad you appreciate all of the little details, you would not believe the amount of work that went into it. Also I am really glad that my tutorials helped so many people to mod. You are very welcome. Seeing this video made me so happy today. I have recently been thinking of getting back into modding and this just inspired me. Thank you!
Sebidee, thank you for taking the time to comment! You are a huge inspiration for me and your Unit Roster Overhaul inspired me to make my own Roster Overhauls for Wrath of Sparta and Rise of the Republic! Your work has been a gift to the community and I'm so happy you found the video inspiring. Cheers, and thank you for your mods, I look forward to seeing what you make next ;).
Seb, my guy. You really made the difference for me in RTW 2, my great love for Pyrrhus was totally realized with your treatment of units in the overhaul. Thanks for that dude.
4:05 THIS, i hate the lack of "what if" units in vanilla, i mean full tribal units do make sense for small germanic kingdoms, but if those people went to conquer the world they would obviously have developed a more drilled take on warfare. Same for the city states, i hate how you can't copy the successor states and develop phallanxes and/or a more "combined arms" based military
exactly yeah. It's odd playing as barbarian factions and conquering stone walled settlements with marble buildings, only to bring them down to replace them with wooden palisades and stone houses.
I hope they bring this to life in future Rome 3. There must be reform and civilize options, especially when we play with barbarian factions. We can turn a barbarian tribe to empire, but still have half-naked poor soldiers and small "oppidum" cities. Our "civilized" barbarian empire should have the option of copying Hellenistic, Roman or Eastern military tactics and buildings.
It makes so much sense for Factions that we're destroyed early. For example, Sparta was destroyed around 250bc so them existing past that point alone is completely unhistorical. So for units it would be unhistorical for them to develop at all. When a player plays them all the way to 100ad then are they never supposed yo develop past 250bc??
Hey everyone! Here's some extra information about the mod: -It's save game compatible, but once you add it to your campaign, you can't remove it. -The units are available in Imperator Augustus too! Makes that campaign even better imo. -It's compatible with most small to medium-sized mods, since it only adds units. This includes other unit mods. -It's NOT compatible with major overhauls like DEI, Radious and WOTG. It might technically "work" but the units are balanced for vanilla.
That's so great that they are available in IA too, that campaign was up to standard when it was released, but after CA did a bunch of DLCs following the IA update, none of the spice and quality of the new stuff (with the exception of Cleopatra) was forwarded to that start date. It's my favorite era in Rome 2, and this mod will definitely add some spice to it!
This is also one of my favorite unit mods. An essential for me. That fact that it adds so much to factions like the nomads and Balkin tribes makes this a must. I would love to see a video for the AoC version!
@@JasonWolfGames On Steam he said it is very unlikely there will be a Desert Kingdom update which is disappointing. Kush and Nabatea are two of my favorite factions.
I do like how most of the added units in the campaign are at all he high end of the tech tree in campaign, because then if feels like your mostly using the standard vanilla units for your early game, then busting out Sebidee’s tanks for your late game. @Gyrosmeister The Illyrian archers in the mod are from one specific tribe called the Breuci. They were Pannonian and a little Celticized so weren't exactly the same as the other Illyrians
@Gyrosmeister yup I get it. The point of the mod is to give options. The Illyrians have an archer option, but they are still going to be far weaker than any faction with proper archers. Actually using them as the backbone of an Illyrian army would be dumb, but its nice to have then anyways.
Carthage mercenary barracks is a genius touch And Royal cataphracts are just Chad looking and my favorite unit cause they're from my land :) Amazing video man as always

I’ve played nearly 5000 hours in Rome 2 and there’s still so many factions I’ve never even wanted to play a campaign with, simply because their unit rosters in the base game are atrocious, this is exactly what a lot of those factions need, a bit of variety to choose from when making your armies.
