Throughout the entire anime, it gives out messages emphasizing humans' dominance over animals and then the parasytes use this as their reasoning behind killing the humans since humans' intelligence is able to use animal species as cattle (survival of the -fittest- smartest). People complaining about lullaby versions really need to get over it. This version actually in my opinion works well with the tone of the anime. I would actually enjoy it if the next season would have her version as like a change in tone to symbolize How the main character changed both physically and mentally with his most impacting traumatic experience dealing with the parasites. I can't describe how much I love this. The anime is amazing, and I already really enjoyed the opening. with that being said this cover takes an upbeat, intense song that represents the action and struggle within the show, and changes it into a heart wrenching piece that goes beyond the confines of the source material in the same way the meaning and lessons does for the show itself.

+becky15243 I've never done a cover, but I'm pretty sure the hardest thing about them is touching up the instruments and sounds to fit your voice or the way you want the song to feel, when it's a song in another language is a different story, I'm pretty sure one of the harder parts of doing covers for foreign language songs is trying to find a good translation, and trying to make the words rhyme in english as they do in the other language, so picking out your lyrics carefully, but staying true to the source material.
I actually like AmaLee's version of this song better than the original Japanese one, which is saying quite a bit because I absolutely love the original version.
the show parasyte is really important to me because during the time it came out a good friend of mine and I would watch episodes together and it wasn't short after that she passed in a car accident. hearing this is bittersweet, you did a damn good job putting the song in your own style but the feels hit me hard

I just barely realized this song is in the parasites point of view. "If we fall at least we fall together as one" the parasites take over humans, so you basically kill both. "Let me take your last breath" pretty self explanatory. Your last breath is when you die, and if someone takes it, that means they've killed you.
Dear Amanda Lee, when i first saw that this song was from Parasyte, i was skeptical because i dont really like the show, but when i heard this song it drove me to tears because of how beautiful it was. Every song release, you always blow my mind and drive me to tears. I understand the meaning behind each and every song you release. I cant wait to see what you have in store for the future and cant wait for you to drive me to tears again. I would love to meet you but sadly i cant afford Patreon, me being only 13. ***** making covers is hard enough but the hardest part is recording and posting them and I should know cuz I always do covers but never post them
+becky15243 I've never done a cover, but I'm pretty sure the hardest thing about them is touching up the instruments and sounds to fit your voice or the way you want the song to feel, when it's a song in another language is a different story, I'm pretty sure one of the harder parts of doing covers for foreign language songs is trying to find a good translation, and trying to make the words rhyme in english as they do in the other language, so picking out your lyrics carefully, but staying true to the source material.
I actually like AmaLee's version of this song better than the original Japanese one, which is saying quite a bit because I absolutely love the original version.

But seriously, Parasyte explores the destructive and egotistical nature of humans by putting humans in the prey's perspective and telling us that nature will be better if something controlled our numbers, just like in any natural ecosystem
Tokyo Ghoul explores humanity's hypocrisy by showing how humans act if something doesn't sit well with them, humans and ghouls both just wants to survive, yet they both (because ghouls are still technically humane) fought instead of trying to find a solution (like the Anteiku Ghouls did)
Tl;Dr: Parasytes are purposely there to cull out our numbers, and balance the ecosystem and they're not by any means humane
