    Definitely agree. Like you said seems like SP wants more melee gameplay and perhaps samurai gameplay with his buffs (much appreciated) but man they're going to have to seriously buff melee and perhaps something with charms if they want it to compete with the top hunter builds and frankly all the other high end classes as well 😅 maybe even taking away some of the cancel animations from a killing strike would help and please take away the ending animation from the Samurais Ult. Leaves him so vulnerable 😬

      Nah, the solution is rather to nerf all the cheesy stuff and spammy stuff. Like fire, black powder bomb, hunter resolve gains, kunai (is suppose to mainly stagger, not be a main lethal weapon), ditch the resolve jug (liquid courage), perhaps separate the hunter ultimate from skipping stone bow entirely, and same for samurai flame. And finally patch the glitch where all enemies are kind of locked in a group/stopped in their path with the smokebomb.
      There was always too much ranged in this game, and not enough melee, and then on top of that they added the constant ultimate spam.

      @@johnwayne-kd1pn everything you mentioned has already been nerfed. buffing weaker weapons makes more things viable. we want everything viable!

    I totally agree... Ive had my fill of melee in the single player campaign (with your help especially on the standoffs no less)
    but seeing that they obviously have been on a crusade to promote melee combat with all the previous nerfs, why not boost the main weapon with which you're campaigning, right?

    -Even at 100% the stagger effect on those katanas would still only affect non-oni, so its always going to be limited; it would be less terrible than it is now though.
    -Remove Moon stance cancel Exploit. its a cheat and trivializes combat. no other sword style has anything similar. if i see someone using it it just leave the game, i dont want to play with cheaters.
    -Nerf hunter: they take such little risk for high burst damage from way too far away. reduce hunter range so they have to run around the map more like everyone else. reduce hunter ulti gain, its too fast.
    -Reduce Ronin ghost dmg bonus from 50%. they should not be able to spam spirit kunai and annihilate most enemies in 1 hit.
    -Revisit hit boxes for oni attacks. some attacks feel entirely unavoidable. the dual sided spear oni needs to do other attacks, not just unblockables only.
    -The player should be able to correctly dodge with the right direction and timing. no melee attack should be 100% guaranteed to hit.
    -Make anything that changes the parry window to also affect the dodge window. currently nothing can change the dodge window.
    -Change "toxic vanish radius" on Assassin charm to "vanish radius" so it affects Toxic, Group and Healing Vanish.

    Sucker Punch don't like melee anymore, because they listen to cheesy spammers and glitchers on reddit, and they don't like it. They just like cheesy playstyles and exploiting weaknesses in the game mechanics.
    Anyways, both knock down and throw back is terrible if you actually want to fight enemies, so even if it was 100% it would still be bad. It's like assassination from above, it's a cool concept and a cool thing, but it's not really usable in real gameplay situations.

      @@Huginnm I mean, I’m doing an (averaged out) 353.6% melee damage against any enemy 🤣. Probably a little of both, but I think it’s the build ingenuity that made it that good honestly

    I’m glad I played through the story before hitting Legends. Legends feels totally different and it becomes second nature to spam all the ghost weapons etc rather than melee. I originally anticipated Lengends would just be a hardcore melee battle, … not sure what I prefer now, although think SP are making the right move. (Although normally hate developers initiating change just to avoid being stale; think it’s ok this time)

      Yh I love how they took the exact same combat mechanics and made the playstyle and feel completely different. Legends really is like a new game.

    Disagree. Melee is busted if you got the moves to "compensate" the damage. Never has a ranged noob outnumbered my killcount.

    And get rid of the staggered enemy technique for assassins! just revamp a few katanas, charms n techniques and how come assassins cant get stealth attack damage on legendary charms

    All melee should be buffed. Why in a samurai game are the ghost weapons the meta. everyones just throwing bombs because they are necessary. bombs should be good AOE/crowd control. melee should be for massive single target damage. Ronin class should be the most anime class in the game based on drip. instead he's the ghost weapon bomb throwing healer? idk if theres any way to fix. give every class the ability to heal and give ronin a 50% melee damage technique like the ghost weapon one. make him heal based on melee damage, so that the weebs can actually play with the katana like we all know they want to!! me included.

      @@GooshyG [Ronin main] At what point is melee powerful enough? and when is samurai too strong? Sam and Sin' both have what makes the Ronin class unique in his bomb pack. Both have stronger ults, the black powder bomb resolve nerf hurts 3 of the classes but severely hampers the Ronin. I see nothing but Sam and Sin popping their ultimates where is this melee they care so much about? It's in their ult. Ult dmg is directly tied to melee. Right now a Samurai is 2x as powerful using a sword as any Ronin or hunter and their ultimate is 15% stronger but they still choose to spam their ults.The classes are more unbalanced now than they have been in a while.

    Its a strange way to buff melee by nerfing ranged. thats all I’ll say about that. You could rework all the bad legendary katanas, introduce new charms with melee effects, buff samurai techs ie take away pp and pd window at low health and give us something actually useful. Maybe rework the demon cutter, except when the enemy is staggered it does aoe dmg like intimidating counter. Maybe introduce a katana which has like a crtitical hit perk. A chance to do a multiplier of dmg. What about a charm which has a chance to proc a shadow which does another melee strike on a melee hit. Better yet, make all legends characters do more base melee dmg. You could buff samurai ult so that the ult does 6 strikes. So much potential here, but I don’t want ranged to suffer.

    I want melee buffs to be on par with ranged. Make the default melee property at least reach 20% on katana/kunai similar to how fire damage% was buffed.
    I also really want the samurai ult to hit multiple enemies instead of just one target. What's really odd to me is the visual slashes from Hachiman's Fury has very large hitboxes yet only hits one enemy, as opposed to Moon Master visually has a smaller slashing hitbox, yet could hit 2-3 enemies when they're close enough. Same for Assassin, I want his ult to some how hit multiple enemies, maybe clones of himself, but that could be asking for much. Maybe include the kunai throws like how in the main campaign Jin can throw kunai after a chain assassination, but just make this exclusive to only the assassin class
    Moon Master cancel I see still gets a lot of complaints from casuals, and honestly if mmc were to be removed, just buff Moon Master by making one spin at least 3 hits, because audibly and visibly you can hear and see three slashes within one spin making the value of each spin attack higher and mmc not as useful.
    These are things I wish for tbh. I'm tired of nerfs, just make melee on par with ranged please 🙏
    Btw masamunes edge isn't too bad, I've seen it action in hellmode the other day, mmc killed an Oni Lord without having to kill a disciple
    I also still want horses in Legends so much, and bow cosmetics, idk if that's asking for much

      I saw sadakisae (I think that's the username) perform a single MMC with masamunes on a purple Oni lord and killed it. I tried the same 61% melee dmg build and it was insanely destructive!

      Dude!!! 20% melee dmg is an overkill, if you stack 20 melee x3 and ult dmg x2 you’ll probably 2 shot Oni lord.
      I don’t think AOE damage isn’t necessary for the samurai and assassin ultimate, and hey without the SSB the hunter ultimate isn’t much of AOE damage either, it’ll target only 5 enemies.
      As for AOE damage, on the samurai’s Raging flames use to deal mad damage on near by enemies and they nerf that which is stupid, I understand increasing the duration and cooldown makes sense but the damage wasn’t necessary. It defeat the whole point of the AOE dmg on the samurai, they can buff the damage on explosive blade also.
      As for the Assassin, the poison ability needs a buff and decrease the cooldown, but not too much buff because chain vanish will make it OP. That way it’ll feel on par with the explosive arrow instead of waiting 65 seconds for a green fart.
      Honestly, SP fucked up when they added the black powders on the sam and assassin, it’s what made the ronin unique and it doesn’t allow those classes to reach their TRUE full potentials. Now they can’t take them off because they’re just to damn fun.

      Thinking about it now, explosive arrow is so strong because the hunter technique extra 25% status damage, I think SP should consider that and buff the damage on the green fart and only the green fart. I believe the blowgun and poison blade doesn’t fair amount of damage.

      I like the aoe hachimans idea! It could even hit all enemies in that line. Would def help with that aoe damage. Assassin you kinda wanna be more precise for SK finishes right? But yeah it is nice to have moon master on masamunes now. The mastery perks were a step in the right direction.

    I found no real use for the legendary katanas beside Stone striker and Masami es Edge. Also the melee resolve gain is just to low. It can't compete with the ranged ways for a Ronin or Hunter to get resolve easily.
    I ran a build with +75% resolve gain when added I was injured and even with that with a Ronin I had my ukt up way faster than with my samurai. (on whom I ran named build)

    I agree with you Gooshie,
    I think adding the stance mastery on the legendary katanas was fantastic idea. I never thought of getting 120 legendary katana until this. But I think they still need more.
    I talk to liquid or Yapua after the Iki update,
    I think masamuni edge should be 50% chance instead of 20%.
    I think they should buff the damage of the normal heavenly strike or buff way of the flame.
    The demon cutter is an interesting matter, if they increased the BOOM (👉🏻😉👉🏻 shout out to Liquid ) to 100% it might be annoying, when you hachiman a golden boy (👉🏻😉👉🏻 shout out to Indiago) 2 hit stagger him and the 3rd one kills him, so if it prok during the ultimate, you will likely to miss the hit and that’s annoying, but I do think it should get buffed to 50 or 60% chance of BOOM. If it prok in group you can build good amount of resolves too, so it’s really cool katana.
    The Yoshie’s hand one or whatever it called is useless. The perk doesn’t do much.

    i wish they buff the legendary sword which give you a 3 perfect parry attack like increase the dame to x1.5 this will make the parry alot more fun 😆🔥

    The masamunis edge 20% double damage does pop off more often than the perk from demon Cutter. The demon Cutter perk pops way less despite it being 30%. Sometimes it pops 2 in a row but its very rare. Ive counted even 15 strikes without it even activating, the masamunis edge on my Max damage builds on the Assasin and ronin melts crowds fast and i am able to get most kills over randoms in nightmare survival using melee. The samurai i cant get rid of forb medicine so i cant use masamuni unless its story nightmare or rivals. But at total 61% Max melee damage 24% Max stagger damage and 20% Max oni damage on the charms and ghost weapons with the deep strike perk, it melts crowds real fast on nightmare, havent experiment yet with a double Max ultimate build instead of oni damage, maybe that is even better. Even when using just 49% Max melee , 12% Max stagger, 10% oni damage and 50% inj resolve gain and double Max damage reduction with Max status duration on the forb meds with the flash bomb i am able to get my full resolve real fast with kills alone using mmc with the occasional hit. When i pop my healing blade or specially when a ronin pops his healing ultimate i purposely get hit to get as much as 3 near back to back ultimates on enemy crowds before the healing timer stops. There is even a window when you are about to get hit with a major blow like the oni Spearman lunge, before getting hit pop your ultimate and you can get 2 full resolves, coupled with the extra resolve technique you can get back to back ultimates with this tech. Still the bow cancel and skipping stone smoke bomb archer wrecks enemies crowds the fastest except in Certain conditions in story nightmare. I think though that the samurai on average or even the above average players can do more kills than all the other classes. But on the highest level with the likes of you, Joey, afunnightm, atomb, etc... its definitely the Hunter no questions asked.😁

      For single target damage melee can def get up there! It’s mostly the aoe damage that needs buffing

    so for demon cutter it should automatically have like 25% more melee stagger and staggered damage to all enemies
    the legendary wind style katana should launch multiple enemies at once and put them in a critical state for longer and the kick should Break gaurd no more than two or 3 kicks and for the other water stance the swings could be ferocious like the stone striker and the charge one be slower and do more damage after the opponent is staggered

      Agreed! After thinking about it, buffing it to 100% still won’t be enough. Drastically increasing stagger would kinda make it the weightless spirit of katanas haha

    I think it would be also pretty cool if they gave samurai class the chance to swap out ranged weapons to a charm, that is not the same you have on charm slot. That would also make sense since Jin has 6 charms with him in story mode and he is a samurai.

      That would be a really awesome and unique change. Might be a little too strong if thing can stack twice. So maybe only non identical charms

      Thanks for the feedback. Basically Sucker Punch did some balance patches and ranged weapons are still way stronger than melee. Was just giving suggestions on how to do so
