    Great job using the factory holes! That custom mount looked like you can do a pull up on it. Awesome DIY

    10in at helm absolutely the way to go

      @stephansmithoutdoors  Год назад +1

      That 12 does look good also...lol I was almost stuck with that crusty 5" Lowrance or else doing a ram mount off the side drilling holes in the fiberglass. So glad I didn't give up and do that..

    • @58dbeck33
      @58dbeck33 Год назад +1

      The 10in just looks like it should be there and seemed to have less movement than the 12in when you were shacking it, great job either way!@@stephansmithoutdoors

      @@58dbeck33 I put the 12 on and off twice.. that was before I tightened the knobs.. both are rock solid secure.. but your right the 12 just looks a bit overwhelming on such a small console.. I always had plans for the 10 but wanted to show it would work with a 12..

      What would one cost in putting a Lowrance hds live 12 on by boat.

    You made removing the steering wheel look easy. Is mine just stuck on my Z9? Did you have to use a puller? Thanks!

    Can you provide a video on taking the steering wheel off? I want to replace my steering wheel but not sure how to proceed

    • @stephansmithoutdoors
      @stephansmithoutdoors  11 месяцев назад +1

      So this particular wheel that is on mine had been upgraded by the previous owner.. It just has hex bolts that hold wheel on at the hub.. I just remove the bolts that encircle the wheel and it comes right off. The one that's on it is a 14" it works fine but to be honest I'd rather get one smaller cause of my size if I do find a new wheel I like I will do a video. I just ordered 2 93sv garmins for my 2013. I will be using this for sure. I just wonder if the bracket will work the same on the 9”?

    • @stephansmithoutdoors
      @stephansmithoutdoors  6 месяцев назад

      Got a subscriber that has done this and added a 93SV instead and sent me PIC's. So YES it will work. Just be mindful that those gimble brackets are plastic/ABS? As demonstrated I used just 2 bolts to secure cause of room and 106/126sv gimble being metal it was enough support. At the end of the day the principle is there you can figure out what you may need/want to do differently.. Welcome to the channel! Got other idea's that I've done.. and will do? Any questions just ask!

      @@stephansmithoutdoors how’s your hole shot. Mine seems terrible and I have the 115 pro XS 2 stroke with a similar looking prop.

    • @stephansmithoutdoors
      @stephansmithoutdoors  6 месяцев назад +1

      @@LoganSumrell mine seems to be fine for a 115hp 2 stroke with empty well. Double it if full. 46-51mph empty wells @ 6000 rpm. 4blade 19P prop. I'm lighter in the rear with Lithium's and heavier at bow with all I got going on so that does contribute to planing..

      Congrats on the new boat! I don't know exactly the dash setup of those or what's available in the way of custom mounts but maybe what you saw in this video will help you figure out your own way of solving that problem? I also have a video on a DIY mount for the front that may work idk?? For as great as some older boats may be there was little forethought in there designs for todays electronics.. The good thing is they can be purchased more reasonable in todays market as opposed to new but do all have there own challenges to overcome with outfitting them for today. That's the challenges I enjoy figuring out! Thanks for watching and commenting MrBdogg317!
