Destiny Reidel is it just me or is it actually hard to sew in a straight line and have the stitches be equally as far apart? Lol
@@daphneulaga2195 your machine should have a setting for the stitch length so theyre always the same!
That is true but sometimes I have issues with not maintaining the same speed on the speedpedal. Or does this have no effect on the stitches and am I theorizing that wrong ? When I sewed my costume I was happy the fabrics stuck together so I did not check all the stitching :D
@@daphneulaga2195 Im not the best with the pedal but ive never noticed a difference in stitch length when ive gone too fast. It may be your feed dogs not working properly and not pushing the fabric in the right increments. Try to see if that helps at all!

I love how adding the zipper makes it actually a bit practical. You could at least fit an ID and credit card in there. Plus the texture on it is just gorgeous!

there's a zipper but no pocket. it was just for fashion, much like the front pockets in women's jeans.

Sooo. in love with the work that you did here! Although I encourage you to take it one step further next time, and instead of using glue, actually embroider it!! lots of work tho, i know xx
Tip: to add the zipper and the shimmery fabric, sew the welt opening rectangle with the leather and shimmer fabric wrong sides together and then cut out the welt opening (I recommend cutting the fabric with small fabric scissors and the leather with an X-acto knife) flip inside out, then open the layers so you can see the seam allowance and sew the zipper on the leather only. I'm not sewing this right now so I can't guarantee the results but you can do some trial and error on scrap fabric to see if it works for you.

Loved how you explained and showed how to do the zipper. I will share your video with my daughter that lives very far from me so she can learn with you. It is much much better than if I try to explain from a distance.

I was, however, a bit disappointed with *glueing* sequins and beads. It would make such a difference, if they were first placed and embroidered on that shimmer fabric before cutting a pattern. Glued things are stiffly stuck to their place, lacking that nice little movement when you touch them, which embroidery has... also, anything that was glued on will eventually start to fall off. Those are small subtle details but they make a big difference in the end (not to mention extra hours of work, this is the exact reason why luxury fashion items cost a fortune)
Anyway, it is impressive work, thank you for this video and keep going, Wendy!

I think I saw a TikTok hack where you can use packing tape to pick the seed beads up and just slide your needle to thread some beads, not sure how much easier it is compared to the bowl method tho!
