- The proper use of car seats is very important in preventing injuries if you are in a crash. In this video, we cover the proper installation and use of the Evenflo Shyft DualRide car seat. You may use either the LATCH system or the vehicle seat belt, but you should never use both together. If you're unsure whether your car seat is installed correctly, find a car seat tech to have it checked. In Texas, visit BuckleUp.tamu.edu to find a tech near you. Nationwide, visit cert.safekids.org and click on "Find a Tech."

So using the lower anchors vs seatbelt is one or another? Or are both required?
Great question! You want to pick either the seat belt OR the lower anchors, but not both together (a common mistake). I recommend trying out both methods (one at a time) and see which you feel gives you the better installation. Then go with that method. They are equally safe, provided they get a good installation.
I’m considering this car seat but I’m worried about lifting it and it being heavy. I have a transit passenger van, so with any infant seat I will have to step up into the van with while lifting car seat and clicking it into base. Do you think it’s feasible? Should I look at different options? Otherwise, this stroller would be perfect for our lifestyle.
I was concerned about it being heavy as well but it’s really not we have a ford f150 and I can easily put the car seat in the back with no help
I recommend asking around to see if anyone local to you has one you can try lifting to see for yourself. Good luck!
I would HIGHLY recommend the Evenflo Pivot Litemax. It is truly light and super nice
Thank you for the video. If you use the anchors should you still apply the seatbelt across the car seat?
You're welcome! If you're using the lower anchors to install, there is no need to use the seat belt. They are not designed to be used together.
Which of the two methods is best?
@@DareDaMonster14 Both methods are equally safe, provided you follow the instructions and get a secure installation (correct recline angle, and the base doesn't move more than 1 inch front to back or side to side when tested at the vehicle belt path). Choose whichever you prefer in your vehicle.
