Check "A Change of Pace", "Concept of Forever", and "The Great White Emptiness" album. They admit on their bandcamp that they really went more for lush atmosphere on this release. Personally I prefer this; I love black metal, but they did just a damn awesome job on this release.

I won't say that you have to like this, but it does say a lot about you to intentionally provoke people enjoying music that you don't like. If you don't like the sound, listen to music that doesn't have it. There's no point in arguments when they turn into penis size competitions.
