All those D&D stories left unfinished as friendships fade and years drag on, all those books never written, stories never told, cancelled games left unreleased and incomplete, songs that an artist never sung, all those dreams and ambitions that never saw their beginnings... or died before they could get off the ground for anyone to see....
Where do they go? Where do they end up? Can they ever be found again? Can they be uncovered? Would life be different today had they lasted? Inspired the right people? Touched the right minds?
What was not found today.... from what has been lost in the past?
amazing comment.

It's because people who have experienced many negative emotions are often more emotionally intelligent due to experience. Sometimes suffering in emotional ways like that can lead people to want to vent their sorrow, depression and thoughts in whatever means they can. Whether that be music, writing, paintings, or even just words. People who have also felt these ways can appreciate these emotional outlets too and often find them full of emotion and beauty, especially the more subtle or neesh topics are, it also helps bring comfort in knowing that you are not alone.

I have played this style of music on my keyboard for almost 20 years, but I've recorded VERY little of it. It's nice to know there is an actual audience for this. That's kind of inspiring to me. Back in my mid 20s, I used to spend countless hours and nights playing/creating stuff like this.
Is there a chance you have some of your recordings left? Given the fact that dungeon synth has such a substantial following now it would be great to hear some of your work :)
@Borys The best and most complete song I ever did is on my channel. It may not be exactly dungeon style, but I definitely started with medieval soundscapes. I'm not sure how to classify my song "Remedy", as I named it. Maybe it's more like soundtrack / film score. It was an evolution of my physical ability on the keys. Initially, I was a guitar player in the genre of viking/folk metal - most inspired by Mithotyn. I have full ~5 minute melodic metal songs of just guitar with lots of keyboard, kind of epic and bombastic. But those are not on RUclips. Remedy:

Yeah, I'm not much into the album title tbh. The contents are wonderful but I feel the title and cover don't quite express it. Just my opinion.
My interpretation of the album title is that the music kills the silence, therefore it is the opposite of depressive
Not ambient and literally the whitest music ever....

For years I have been coming back to this video. I remember discovering it when looking for background music for running a dnd game. Years have past, lovers faded, family passed away, freiends moved on, and places have changed. Through all my hard changes and heartbreak, through the sunny days reading fantasey books outside with my cat, I have always come back to this album. A feeling of sadness that the good times and loved ones are gone, but that there is breghtness peaking through the clouds with somthing new to experence! This album has been such a big comfort to me in my hardest and most lonelist times. Today I am sad for what I have lost, but this music makes me ready to embrace what will come! Depressive Silence was a dungeon synth duo from Breisach, Germany, formed by B. Schmidt (keyboards, vocals) and Ral (keyboards, guitars).
Never thought Dungeon Synth could be this good. Im definitely taking this album on my next trip to the mountains, set up camp, lay down and listen to it just watching the landscape and letting my imagination drift away.
This music reminds me of dreams I have had as a child. More specifically a dream I have had where it was snowing and I was surrounded by birch trees. In the distance of that forest, I could see a disneyland-like castle ontop of a mountain like the one on the album cover.
I never expected music to take me back to that kind of memory but it did.

This album was uploaded to the channel just a few days after I returned from walking for 9 days - all alone - down the King's Trail in northern Sweden.
The only reason I even did it was this album; it inspired me to wander through a strange, lonely world. Whoever made this music, you have my undying gratitude.

That sounds like a brilliant hike! I tend to do endurance hikes (anywhere from 20 to 80 miles in one go) when I get "the itch". My gf does more long distance over a few days (Pennine Way, The Coast to Coast) and she's geting me into more "multi-day" stuff. Diff'rent mindsets, and she came on one of mine so I'm interested in trying her style. We're planning to hike part of the Carpathians in a coule of years' time.
She's got Land's End to John O'Groats on her "bucket list", but I'm not sure if I'd want to do that or not. Regardless, if we're ever in Sweden we'll be sure to try the King's Trail out as it look p nice. Any tips?

Tips for the Kungsleden? Not many. The trail is so well marked that you could do it without a map; I only consulted mine to get a general feel for the next day's travel.
Try to go in late August. There should be fewer mosquitos and fewer fellow travellers. If you start in the north at Abisko, you can choose whether to break off the main trial after a few days, or carry on to Sarek National Park. I chose that route because there are even fewer people about, and that's what I was aiming for.
I only did 110km of the route, so I can't speak to the other 330km, but it's lovely. Really great.
This is what I imagined when searching 'Dungeon Synth'...

Fantasy lands seem great from the outside, but they're based on what is pretty much the middle ages where disease and murder were rife. I think you're right. I certainly wouldn't refer to this as black ambient.
@@MontyCantsin5 I guess the "black ambient" is more akin to the classic label of Dungeon Synth as "ambient music made by black metal musicians" than actually being ambient music with BM elements... it's an arbitrary label rather than a descriptive one, imo.
@@rayres1074: That may very well be the case, and is perhaps a distinction that can be argued for. Having said that, black ambient has been a distinct sub-genre (or should that be sub-sub-genre?) for quite some time: it's darker, harsher, and altogether nastier than the music featured on this recording. Abruptum, Moëvöt, and Emit come to mind as obvious examples.
@@MontyCantsin5 I definitely agree, Dungeon Synth is black metal only by association, but it bears no stylistic association. It's even possible that someone come up with Black Dungeon stuff in the near future...
