Sbrebrown, it appears that you are permanently geo-positioned in a 90% eclipse of sun location at peak coverage. It seems you are somehow adamant about your lack of lighting. However, I am pleased that you describe the colors on the pen so that we can understand verbally what we cannot see visually. Let there be LIGHT! 💡 Or in other words, we wish you Godspeed toward enlightenment.
Thank you! It's August of '24 and I just ordered one. I got the Original Plus Luvina a few days ago and I was staggered by how smooth it writes, so I had to have another! Thank you!
Purchased the exact same pen on the strength of your review (with all of the by now familiar idiosyncrasies) and have not been disappointed. Lovely colour and material quality. Nice no.6 Broad nib option, which at first provided more of a medium result, ‘broadened’ with frequent use. As its name suggests, Diamine Imperial Purple is a nice, deep coloured ink and works well in this pen. Yes, a lower cap band would have been nice for practical and aesthetic reasons. The visible ink window is welcome as is the included wrench. Overall, a lovely pen for the price (£50 inc. tax and delivery in U.K.) Many thanks for the review … 🦊
I have one with a stub nibble. The only thing I don’t like is the exposed screw head inside the cap. I had the screw come loose on mine . I had to get a set of mini screw drivers to find one that would fit the screw so I could tighten up the clip. I think they could do a better job on that.
I have it in Asfur Bronze. It's absolutely a great, smooth writer. The only thing I hate is the name for which i have to look up the spelling every time I want to write it. Argh!
Cichlids are a family of fish that include commonly-kept tropical freshwater species such as Oscars, Angel Fish, Discus, etc.. Thanks for the great review! 🙂
I hadba Narwhal piston filler and gave it away. Rhe nib felt cheap and scratchy, and the exposed screw head mentioned in another comment looked cheap. I used it for a few weeks before accepting it wasn't for me. Looked good, wrote horrible.
Just a small comment the name Schuylkill is pronounced as Skool-Kill. I think the origin of the name is Dutch but the locals in Philadelphia pronounce it this way. Nice pen.
I’ve had my Narwhal Schuylkill for three days. I twisted on the cap carefully and snugly, and I noticed this morning that a piece of the cap by the threads had cracked off. I am really disappointed. I promise you I have not screwed on the top forcefully. I guess lesson learned is: never buy a resin pen with resin threads. For the money, this should not have happened.
“Because we can” - yes!!
Haha. Cunning linguist, indeed - you went full Belfast for a moment at 3:06!
Cichlids, like pens, come in many different colors. Nice review.

Nice pen. I have a lot of Nhavalur pens; they all write well but the piston fillers not always.
Thanks Stephen for this review.
I'm waiting, but without hope now, for a Schuylkill similar to the Dragonet Sapphire -with a cap band. It was the best.
So pleased you reviewed this pen, it will, indeed, be my next pen (but in a different colour) Really like the look of it, thank you for the review.

"You can service your own piston."
Please talk dirty to me.

As always a great review
