When queen Victoria (The Famine Queen) died the Irish were told to paint their doors black. Realize she was known as the famine Queen not beloved by the Irish. So the Irish did what the Irish do they had resistance and a sense of humor. They painted all the Georgian doors different colors. If you go out west the Irish took it further painting their buildings bright colors.
@@KittySofttpaws You do realize there are Irish people that live in America also that have Irish names. That some families have family on both sides and I’m living in New York. I hope that explains everything to you
For any tourists watching this, the crosswalk lights are that way because once you are crossing, it doesn't matter even if the light goes red while you are crossing you are protected by law to freely cross the way. Also for the Americans there is no such thing as jaywalking in Ireland, its completely legal and normal to walk across traffic and roads, as long as you aren't walking into traffic or causing a disturbance to traffic flow. Bonus too, if you come across a "zebra crossing" even without flashing lights, by law ALL traffic must yield to pedestrians crossing the way just watch out for bikes cause they dont care!.
Watching your travel videos have been bit of comfort for me recently. As you know I make RUclips videos about my life in Northern New Mexico ....AND I'm just on the verge of making a huge life change toward a much more nomadic lifestyle which is really exciting AND at times scary BUT remembering that you can find a little piece of "home" wherever you go is so powerful and special. Love what you do!
Natasha I'm in love with your vídeo, the way in this trip... I love to travel alone and I was looking you and remomering my trips and my good moments. I'm going to live abroad, in Ireland and I'm from Brazil! Thank youu. :)
Hello!! I really really enjoyed watching your vlog. I must say you are the cutest and most beautiful vlogger ever. I will subscribe. Im coming to Dublin for the first later this year. I wanna see more videos and you are super awesome!
Lovely! Is there a Irish accent in combination with your Canadian English? Considering where Ireland is located I suspect there is a wind and humidity!
Gulp; I am watching this with my wife as we prepare for our trip to Ireland and.... I bought the green coat for my wife in preparation for this trip and now she has the green coat too
I seem to be just a week or so behind you! Lol. I'm leaving Galicia for Dublin tomorrow and then the rest of Ireland for a few weeks. Thanks for the video! (PS: Are you heading towards Iceland by any chance? :-)
Wow that’s wicked!! You’re in for a treat then 😍 Great minds think alike!! Iceland is on the agenda for the project but not any time soon as we’re coming into peak season but let me know how it is for you 😁
